I've been consistently coming here for going on four years now-even when I moved for school I still came back down for my cuts to be done here. I am still absolutely thrilled with how my hair has been done every time. Laura has been doing a wonderful job with my hair the past few years, and I haven't been this consistently happy with my haircuts before. Everyone here is so warm and welcoming, and really takes the time to understand the specific needs of the person they're working on. read more

I've relaxed and flat-ironed my hair for most of my life and, honestly, I never prioritized my hair at all. I went to Great Clips for trims... that's how much I avoided dealing with it. Last week, I was scrolling Instagram and came across Curlture Salon. I was intrigued (and thank God I was). From the moment I walked in for my appointment, I felt genuinely welcomed. Every single person I encountered was kind, attentive, and professional. Ellicia at the front desk took the time to thoroughly explain my treatment, answered my questions with patience, and offered me coffee and water, which immediately made me feel comfortable and cared for. The stylist I had originally booked with was feeling under the weather, so I was greeted by Quinn, the founder and owner of the salon. I truly believe things happen for a reason, because I could not have been in better hands. Quinn was warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly present. She took the time to really listen to my hair story, my concerns, and my goals. Before touching my hair, she made sure I felt heard and understood. We started with a dry cut, and she was very intentional, especially after I shared that keeping my length was important to me. She never rushed, never overcut, and made thoughtful decisions every step of the way. Quinn personally performed every treatment on my hair, and the level of care and attention she gave was unmatched. She explained exactly what she was doing, why she was doing it, and even had me feel my hair throughout the process so I could understand the changes happening in real time. What once felt brittle, dry, and lifeless slowly transformed into hair that was soft, healthy, and silky. She consistently checked in with me, made sure I was comfortable, and gently reassured me, especially when I wasn't fully convinced the process would work. When she finished and turned me toward the mirror, a wave of emotion hit me, and then both of us. For the first time in my life, I felt confident about my hair. I felt free. I felt empowered. I finally felt like I could take care of my hair on my own and be proud of it. Beyond the transformation itself, the salon is absolutely beautiful. The chairs are incredibly comfortable, and during treatments they offer heated and weighted blankets (I chose both and highly recommend it). Curlture is also an educational salon, which speaks volumes about Quinn and her team. Not only are clients learning about their own hair and how to care for it properly, but apprentices and interns are actively learning as well. That level of mentorship, intention, and commitment to education is rare and so important, especially in the curly hair world where truly skilled stylists are hard to find. Curlture Salon didn't just change my hair, it changed my relationship with my hair. Quinn has created something truly special, and her team reflects that in every interaction. I cannot recommend Quinn and Curlture Salon enough. I'll see you in 4 months, Quinn! read more

The people were great. Super helpful and not snooty even though this is a VERY nice salon. They are helpful and willing to answer lots of questions. I really felt guided through my new hair routine and they give you an email follow up with instructions which is SO helpful. They are are liars. I wanted to cancel an appointment and the lady's said it's $40 so I gave her the number and she deducted the whole amount for a hair cut and wash and when I asked her she said she did not say $40. This is so wrong and unprofessional. read more

The moment I walk into Curlture I immediately feel the warmth of the incredible staff, see the kind smiles, notice the beauty of the environment, and feel very much at home. I cannot over emphasize how talented, loving, and incredible these women are. And this has been the case for the years that I have been getting my curls styled/cut/moisturized at this wonderful salon. Quinn, the founder and owner, who is herself incredibly kind, authentic, and generous, has curated a loving, beautiful-spirited group of women who are experts at getting curls right and supporting each person that comes in, whatever your curly hair journey looks like. As someone who hasn't known what to do with my curls and how to style them well, I feel very blessed to have the women of Curlture in my life. I always leave with my heart filled to brimming with blessing and joy. Every treatment and cut has been magical for me and I am confident that you will love your experience if you book with them! read more

Terrible customer service the second THEY mess up. I was a customer for over 3 years here and this last appointment they decide to email me a reminder (TO A MISSPELLED EMAIL) instead of call me as is my preferred contact and method and how they've always done for my prior appts. The one time I don't show bc I didn't KNOW I was booked due to their error- the front desk worker refuses any sort of first time courtesy waiver despite me pointing out they used the incorrect form of contact. I verbally told her she did not have permission to charge my card and she said the card would be charged anyway. Their appointments are expensive $200-300 -so a full charge penalty is not a casual deal. Spent close to $2000 here in a just a few years and always tipped 20% on appointments- but clearly their customer service doesn't value customer loyalty and long term customer spending over eating the cost of ONE missed appointment that THEY messed up reminding for. Best of luck with them. read more

I received a great haircut from this place. Everyone is very kind and really wants to ensure you have a great experience. I also got a balayage coloring from them as well. I'm not being dramatic when I say that Curlture has changed my life. I have struggled with my hair my entire life. It's thick, frizzy, with curls going every which way. Most of my life my hair has been up in a bun because most hairdressers don't want to deal with my hair. Curlture truly took my insecurities and turned them into appreciation for my hair. They completely brought out my natural curls, hydrated them, and styled them beautifully. Best of all, they taught me how to do it myself every step of the way. As soon as I saw myself I wanted to cry, I was so happy with how my hair looked! I highly recommend this salon to anyone who has struggled with their hair and needs help, or anyone who just wants to refresh their curls. My only regret is that I did not find this place sooner. Curlture Salon - One day after the haircut - Hair Stylists Near Me - Santa Rosa, California

I was interested in trying something different from my regular routine (Deva-type cuts elsewhere). A colleague recommended Curlture, and after months of going back and forth over spending $300 for a cut and "experience," I decided to bite the bullet. The salon is nice and bright, easy to find, and everyone was very friendly. The stylist, Laura, spent lots of time asking and answering questions. She then trimmed my hair and washed, conditioned it. She talked about getting my hair into curl "families," which was informative. Actually, all the info was overwhelming, so it was good to get a follow-up email. She then dried my hair with both a Dyson and under the dryer. There was very little frizz and the curls were sleek. I'm not a big fan of the first day curl look; I prefer a more tousled look, but it was fine. As a parting gift I was given a satin pillowcase, a scrunchie, and a "potato sack" (I think) hair towel. I'm pretty knowledgeable about curly hair, but I have a hard time getting consistent results. For all the stylist's talk about product and build up, she admitted I had very little. She encouraged me to buy some of their product, Innersense, and I bought two items. I got the distinct impression that my product (Bounce) just isn't that great. I made another appointment for a few months later, as they recommend quarterly visits. My wallet was $450 lighter. My next appointment would be $155. A few days later I was looking at Innersense products on Amazon and noticed they have two different curly hair gels. I couldn't remember which was used at the salon, so I emailed, responding to the follow-up email I got from the owner. No one responded. I dunno, but it seems to me that for $450 (plus an upcoming $155), I should get a response. It really rubbed me the wrong way. After much consideration, I canceled the next visit and have decided to go back to my regular hairdresser, who only charges $80 for a dry cut (with a wash and condition). And my last haircut with her lasted a year, so I think that's pretty good. I usually go twice a year, but the pandemic got in the way. I did learn a lot, and would say the info part is worthwhile if you don't know how to deal with curly hair. But after spending almost $500 in one visit, and they can't be bothered to answer a simple email question, well, that's a door I won't be darkening again. read more

My experience at Curlture Salon was the absolute best! If you are looking for curly hair friendly salon, you've found it! Curlture Salon - Day 2! Happy juicy curls!! - Hair Stylists Near Me - Santa Rosa, California

Where do I start...I love everything about this place, their work, their ethics and the way they run the salon and my hair is SO happy since I started coming here! I love coloring my curly hair and Lydia is an absolute GENIUS at her color specialties! I have been doing balayage on my hair for a few years and it was really damaging my curls. I have been working with Lydia now for about a year and my curls cannot be more happy, healthy, bouncy and gorgeous!! I am obsessed!! My hair is growing longer like I wanted. We don't have cut as much because it's staying healthy longer. I get compliments all the time on how amazing my hair and my color are and I have to attribute all of that to Lydia and all the ladies at Curlture. Everyone here, starting with Quinn, the amazing owner are so wonderful to work with and I always feel like a rockstar when I walk out. They truly take the time to educate their clients on how to make their hair look salon ready at home. They really empower their employees to do more and grow. It's such a great business model that I love to support! Couldn't recommend them more! read more

Quinn Bishop is a savior to all curly people everywhere. You want to know more? What else is there to say but that? Actually, there's tons. Curlture is a rehabilitation center for the curlies who have no idea what they are doing with their hair. Hellloooooo, that was me. It is a refuge where those of us who have been chopped and mangled leaving us in tears time and time again by the "stylists" who say they "know curly hair". Me again. Curlture is a funky, fun place to gab and have a cup of tea. Me last week. Ha! I even fell asleep during my Quench treatment. Try it. It's a must. Take care of yourselves my curly sisters and brothers! We deserve to be more than a ball of frizz. The products here are organic and earth friendly. They detoxify and beautify. Quinn has thought of everything for us. Beyond her expertise, she takes care of her people--clients and staff. She has strength and heart. Her character is to be admired, especially during these times of distance and shutdown. She is Sonoma Strong. Every cent spent here goes back into the local community supporting staff and their families. I have love for this place. You will, too. read more

I'll give credit where it's due--the haircut itself was alright and the stylist did a decent job. But at the price I paid, I was expecting to be blown away by the whole experience. While my hair looks fine, the cost was way too high for what you get. I've had equally good haircuts elsewhere for half the price. If you don't mind spending a small fortune, go for it. Otherwise, save your money! read more

Curlture Salon - Customized curly haircut - Hair Stylists Near Me - Santa Rosa, California

writing this review way way late, as my appointment was a little over a month ago, but it's mostly been due to lack of being able to really put down into words how appreciative I am of this salon. I've struggled with my curly hair all my life, I love it to death but have always dealt with major tangles, dryness, and frizz. High school me dyed it, had it botched by a stylist and ended up with platinum blonde hair because of how long she left the bleach in. It's been through a lot of mistreatment, but in the recent years I've been really trying to focus on getting it healthy and learning how to style it. There were so many impressive aspects of this salon, and I have absolutely zero complaints about my appointment whatsoever. Something that was really neat, and I've never experienced, was how hands on each employee was with all the clients. They told me at the beginning that all different people would be touching my hair - and throughout the appointment different stylists would come over to help, and suggest products or treatments etc. I was also shown every step, and provided with an emailed copy of every step / detailed instructions on washing procedures. Seeing it, and being able to 'feel' for what my hair should feel like through every step absolutely changed everything for me. In the past, I've been given a hard time by stylists about having tangles in my hair (even though I always wash before my appointments) - in a very embarrassing moment, there was a large tangle in my hair as they were combing. I felt terribly, even telling them they could cut it out if they wanted. One of the stylists, Love, assured me that this is just how my hair IS. The texture of it just naturally has tangles, regardless of how recently I washed it. Through and through I was taught how to work with my hair, how to put clips in to dry it with volume, and the exact products my hair needs. Thank you all SO much for your patience, your willingness to teach & encourage my exploration of my hair, and for just being absolutely incredible I am so beyond excited for my next appointment. You all rock read more

If you have curly or wavy hair this is your very best option for expert hair care. I have been a client from the beginnings of this now expanded vision of a safe and nurturing space for those of us with textured, wavy, curly hair. I am so happy with cut, my hair feels amazing, and I just love everything about this place! Treat yourself to this experience, it will not disappoint read more

Coming here was the best decision I've ever made for my hair! I got the Curl Revival Package, and let me tell you, it is literally a revival. I'm sorry, my old hair can't come to the phone right now. Why? Oh, 'cause she's dead. My hair was completely reborn after the magic Quinn and Love worked on it. I'm quite obsessed with my new hair--it feels so soft, luscious, and hydrated after Love's amazing spa treatment! I was so relaxed I kept falling asleep in the chair. My hair also got some much needed lift after Quinn artistically shaped my hair curl by curl. I'm on year 3 of embracing my natural hair, and I thought it couldn't get any curlier--well I was wrong. I actually teared up when I saw my new hair for the first time. The team really brought out my hair's full potential, and I'm so excited to see where I can take it from here! My fellow curlies please do yourself a favor and put your hair in the hands of the wonderful people at Curlture Salon. read more

They don't call her the curl whisperer for no reason. Quinn is an absolute legend! I went in with a curly hair cut in mind and told Quinn what type of cut and shape I was looking for and how I wanted my end results to be. Not only did she bring my vision to life but her and Tayla both educated me on how to care for my curls and get the same results at home. I learned a lot from these lovely ladies and how much I didn't know about my curly hair. I did the curl revival package and I felt like a queen. Everyone here is so welcoming and so knowledgeable. It was nice seeing all other curly hair girls getting their hair done including the stylists who have curly hair as well. For the first time ever I didn't feel out of place like other salons. In my past experiences at other salons they made me feel like my hair was ugly and would blow out my hair, killing my natural curls because they simply don't know shit about curly hair. This is truly a curly haven! Everyone here is not only knowledgeable but also so hospitable. I love that the salon is a team dynamic rather than the typical stylist/client relationship. That being said, I had Laura for my curl revival package and she is incredible. We talked over my current routine, addressed what my hair goals are, did a dry cut and then went into full spa mode. The chairs at the washing station can lay you completely flat and I was offered a choice of fuzzy, heated, or weighted blanket to use during the hour long detox and revival process. It was amazing! Because it was my first time there, Laura took me through my new routine step by step and even offered a mirror so that I could watch what she was doing. After the full process and at checkout I was gifted a bag of clips, a satin pillow case, a towel for my hair, and a satin scrunchy. I've been to this salon a number of times and I never tire of the experience. The salon is bright, spacious, beautiful and very well appointed. When was the last time you were offered a selection of blankets when you sat in the chair to have your hair washed? Probably never? Well, they do it here. How about an offer of water, tea or coffee? And the coffee rivals any coffee shop, and the cream was foamed on top! I've seen both Quinn and just this week Laura. Both are pro's, spending lots of time getting my hair perfect. Cutting curly hair is so different than any other type of cut. I always leave having learned some new little trick. I found this salon on Instagram while desperately searching for someone who really understands curly hair after a year plus of growing out my Keratin treatment-- success! Quinn is amazing, and it's well worth the drive from SF to Santa Rosa and back! I wasn't sure it was worth the cost of the initial appointment, but gave it a shot and I'm glad I did. Quinn cuts each curl individually when your hair is dry and then does touch ups after a wash and dry. My curls have never looked so good, and I love the style! Plus, she and her team really take the time to explain how to care for your hair and use the products. I was skeptical about the products/process, but I've been converted to that, as well.
