Dave and his crew did a wonderful job. Dave suggested and planned out the curbing with me, the crew moved the sod to where I wanted it,, it all looks fantastic and they cleaned up afterward. They came the day they said they would and the heat was extreme. They worked very hard. The curbing turned out great. It did rain that night and I am not sure how the sealer took hold. They told me to wait 2 weeks and send them pictures of it. Then we will decide if it needs to be done again. I had Curb Creations our to install the curbing at my last house back in 2012. They did an amazing job!!! 6 yrs later and it looks just as good as it did the day they installed it!! They were able to almost perfectly match the coloring of the existing retaining walls, and had the job done in just 2 hours!! I've since moved, but my sister lives there, and every time I go over it makes me want to install it at my current home! This might be the year! Several years ago I picked up a brochure for Curb Creations and really liked the design. It was always in the back of my mind. So when we decided on our new landscaping project I did some more research into curbing options and decided to go with Curb Creations. Adam came out and gave me an estimate. We scheduled a date and the owner and his crew arrived promptly. Their website shows patterns and colors. The colors online are very different from what is in their color selection book (computer colors never match actual colors). It is hard to select a pattern but my suggestion is to choose one with a vertical line so that the cuts they make about every 2 feet won't show. On the day of installation you will choose your style, pattern, color and highlight colors. Then they begin prepping your area. They setup their equipment in our cul-de-sac and even swept the area when they were finished. First they mix the concrete with the color and then wheelbarrow it to your yard. It is formed into the selected style and then laid out. Another person stamps in the design and yet another adds the color contrast powder. It is finally sealed with a curing seal. The crew laid 465 feet of curbing in 1 day. It has been a few weeks now and the curbing holds up nicely. Even when the landscapers were rolling wheelbarrows full of rock over it. We are very happy with the curbing. It looks nice and holds back the rock without any spillage. If you are scheduling a big landscaping project I suggest the following order: 1. Remove existing landscaping (if applicable) 2. Prep areas 3. Install plants 4. Install irrigation (if applicable) 5. Install curbing 6. Then add rocks and/or mulch read more

They came out and did the entire border around the house and patio in about 3.5 hours. They were professional and kept the yard tidy and clean as they prepped the area for the curb. The final product looks great. read more

Had issues with the follow up sealer/stain application. The employee you came and did the work was careless and over-sprayed onto the concrete landing we have for the stairs on our deck, as well as where the curbing met the driveway. Took several calls by me to get any form of visit/follow-up. Been a constant back and forth on the issue and I'm the one who always has to call into the company to get any form of discussion. They very much lack in what I'd call good customer service, they don't follow up with any form of phone calls or anything to keep you up to date with anything. You'll be the one always have to call in and get any response back. REALLY??? All in all not really happy with the end results, wasn't what I expected it to be for the cost. Make sure you are fully aware of and on-board with your color choices. My wife was the one who picked the colors, or referenced that she wanted to "match" colors as close to a few we had on our home (stone work, existing river rock, ect..). Well what ended up happening is the main "base" color was the darker prominent color and any and all of the "accent" colors just disappeared. You'll get a little splotch of accent color here and there but its very overwhelmed with the main base color. We were expecting the darker color to not be the main focal point color and more of an accent color to a lighter color. We were under the impression that we'd get more "POP" from the accent colors but this wasn't the case. All we have now is a very dark base color with very little pop of any accent colors. Really doesn't go with any color scheme we have on our home. So make sure you're fully aware of your color choices before approving of the work. Pros: Initial Installers are very efficient, quality of the install is great. (other than the guy who stained/sealed it later). Cons: Very much lack in form of what I'd consider good communication. Once the sales process is done, its handed off and you can go weeks without any form of updates on where you are at within the install process. read more

Forty years after it was installed, our black vinyl edging was heaving up in spots and was buried in other spots around the landscaping. It was a hazard to lawnmowing. A neighbor had landscape curbing, and it looked so nice that I looked into it for my own yard. I thought the price was reasonable, so one day last fall they came out and installed the edging. It only took half a day. They helped me decide on a color to blend with the house siding color. It has made it through one winter with no problems. It makes the yard look very finished and tidy. I was told before install that I would be able to ride my riding lawn more along the edge so I could not have to trim my yard which was one of the main reasons I purchased it aside from the great look. They tell you can, but left out the part that it scratches it all up. Also, my project is not even two years old yet and it has cracks which I'm not happy about at all . read more

We decided last year to switch from the black plastic to the concrete edging. I was a little worried about my yard being damaged but had no issues. There was a bit of work to do on the inside of the curbing but we were told there would be. Dave picked out our colors and design and we were thrilled with the finish. The best part besides the look is the way the curbing holds the mulch. My husband says it looks ok but then has to show it to everyone who comes over. We are big fans. read more

Curb Creations - Minnesota did not honor the estimate they provided, even though they HAD seen the plan we wanted. Their estimator gave us one price and the owner tried to ask for more money 2 weeks later claiming HE hadn't seen the plan! We were working with a landscaper on a project for our yard and wanted to incorporate the stamped and colored concrete curb edging. We were all set to go on the project - except before we gave anyone the official "okay" we wanted to ensure we could do the curbing as part of the project. We called Curb Creations in Minneapolis and arranged for their estimator to come out and give us a bid. At the time of the bid, we shared our detailed landscape plan that showed the areas we needed curbing and outlined the linear footage. The design incorporated a series of square and rectangular beds and based on direction from my landscaper, I specifically asked if these 90 degree corners would cause any issues and/or cost additional dollars. In fact, I actually gave the estimator the opportunity to influence the design plan by calling out that if the straight lines or sharp corners posed any sort of challenge - now was the time to give me this feedback because I could ask the landscape designer to make modifications before we moved forward on the job. The Curb Creations estimator, Travis, carefully looked at the plan - and assured me that while the corners would create more work, it was possible and that - he had factored that into his estimate. He also assured me that the company owner, Dave Meyer, was extremely diligent and would work closely with me to ensure I was pleased with the outcome. We agreed to the estimate, I wrote a deposit check for the business - on the spot - and was told that the owner would be in touch with me shortly to work out the details. In the meantime, given this progress, I gave the landscaper permission to move forward on the project - which meant custom ordering a specific type of stone/boulder (and that we were on the hook for these costs, should anything change with the project. Almost 2 weeks later, I received a call from Curb Creations' owner, Dave Meyer, saying that he would need to see the plan because he didn't think he could do the job for the price his estimator gave me. The corners were significantly more complicated (than the basic kidney shaped landscaping bed) and would have to be hand dug...and therefore the project would cost quite a bit more. He came out to meet with us and I told him that his estimator had seen the plans I shared with him and knew all about the corners when we were given a price. Dave agreed to think through the best way to manage the project and get back to me. Two days later Dave called back and wanted more money to do the project because he hadn't seen the plan when we originally signed on. I clarified that his estimator did and gave us a price based on that. To be honest, if Dave had handled it professionally and said, "look there has been an error on our part - here's the cost difference, how about we share the pain and split the difference" - I probably would have just agreed to keep things moving along. However, instead, he kept insisting that it was too complicated and would cost more and eventually just said, "I'll just send back your check" and hung up on me. I was shocked at the lack of professionalism of Curb Creations and frankly, their lack of willingness to honor the estimate they provided - with visibility to the plan that we wanted. We have two different curb companies bidding on the work as we speak. In contrast to Curb Creations, they each have taken the plan and are working on ideas and estimates and THEN will get back to me with a price - rather than providing a price they can't honor. When I called Curb Creations to ask about the status of my check, their reaction? "Sorry your plan changed and that made the pricing change" - which was not the case at all. They then went on to say that no other curb company will be able to do 90 degree corners (which is funny since I saw photos from both companies that came to bid on the project). read more

Overall YES I would recommend these guys! Some of the PROs: detailed in their work; fast and efficient process; very little concrete debris left in our grass/yard; respectful of existing lawn and other structures/décor. We had a custom stamping request (based on an example we saw with another company) and they were able to complete it exactly as asked. We received multiple postcards and letters at the beginning to inform us of the process and to let us know we will be contacted. Based on a few other quotes we received they were willing to negotiate down a little in price/linear foot -- but remember, you are paying for quality here. We had a BIG job (350 sq ft) through the front and back of our yard, around trees, and adjoining with our fence. They did GREAT! The adjoining curbing to the fence was very impressive. Looks like a solid pour all the way through. My only reason for not giving them 5 stars is overall communication and breaking some sprinklers. These are my CONS for them. As mentioned the starting communication, quote, and set up with our sales rep was AWESOME. He was great on all fronts. We were told multiple times it would be 2-3 weeks, then we would be contacted to set up the actual appointment for the work to be done. After 5 weeks we received no update. I followed up with them (the owner directly) and we figured out a time. He did explain they were catching up on jobs from the previous fall, so they were a bit backed up. Understood, however, the need to follow up on current business and current jobs is important too. A few sprinkler heads were broken in the process of removing the sod. They were clearly marked by us, then marked even more clearly with orange spray paint... and the operator of the machine still ignored all that and went right over the top of them. A sprinkler line ended up being severed as well, though this was unavoidable as it wasn't buried very deep. The sod cutter only cuts down about 2"... so most lines would not be affected by this. Negotiating the bill for them to cover this was obnoxious. They did not disclose they broke them or severed the line - glad I was home to inspect and follow up. The owner claimed it would cost $40-50 for replacements and they wouldn't cover severing the line as it wasn't "their fault it was buried shallow." It's not my fault either and if they wouldn't have been doing the work, it wouldn't have been severed. Anyway, we had a tough time negotiating as I called my sprinkler company to get a rough quote to use as a baseline. Curb Creations ended up taking the quote for the repair off my final bill and I took care of the sprinkler repair. We've used the same company since we moved in and I didn't want that relationship to be hindered in any way. The quote was fair for sprinkler repair and it cost what I was quoted. Lastly, the final step was to seal the curbing. This is to be done every 2 years or so. They did not cover the curbing well. The spray was over the top and front, but not on the backside of the curbing. I followed up and someone came out within 1 week to touch up the spray. Overall we were very happy with them and the final product. It is beautiful! The color turned out perfect! We had to mention the issues, but everything ended up being resolved on the spot. read more
