We are no strangers to Cups. We have had other locations, and they have all been good experiences. However, this particular location (which is local to us), misses the mark. Firstly, the selection is minimal as compared to other locations we have visited. Yogurt and topping selections are both smaller. Second, we don't care for the smell of this place. It's hard to put our finger on, but there is an unpleasant smell. It seems other reviewers have noticed this too. Quality of the yogurt seems lesser as compared to other locations based on the consistency. Staff seem very unhappy to be there. Given the pricing to build yourself a nice fro-yo, this place misses the mark on many counts. read more

This one is very small. The one a few miles away is better. More flavor options. This one was limited and machine was out of order. It is not that busy so we got our treat quickly. I would still choose the other location over this one. It's only a few miles away. read more

Came to check this place out after a movie last night. It seems likely that the environment is tough for the employees, because they were absolutely miserable. Usually, when employees are this unhappy, it's because management is unhappy. The toppings did not have signs nor allergen information, and when I asked (because my child is allergic to peanuts) they were so annoyed. The yogurt was okay, nothing spectacular and the incredibly terrible service ensured we will not return and I'd recommend families to visit a different place. read more

Well well well. I came, I saw it conquered and may even have a tummy ache after eating all of this goodness. So first I had a few samples and honestly I wasn't a fan of manly of them but I am a bit of a plain Jane so I settled with cookie and cream which was alright by me. I tried the pumpkin and thoroughly hated it i tricked chocolate and milk which I throughly hated so I stuck with what I know and got me cookie and cream you can not go wrong. There are tons of toppings and they look fresh and yummy. Tons of fruit and sweets to add on. You can also get whipped cream from the clerk so be sure to ask before you walk out the door. They have outdoor seating so that's great and your welcome to walk around the mall. This location was very clean. I saw the employees cleaning when every they got a chance. Had the opportunity to stop by here for some dessert after dinner. Little disappointing they didn't have some of the toppings I see in other frozen yogurt places. Sign on the door says they close at 9:30. Came over at 9pm to get froyo after eating across the street and the rude employee locked the door and said they're closed. When I pointed and said they close at 9:30, she ignored me and rolled her eyes. Lazy staff who open and close when they want to. This has happened on more than one occasion. Honestly i've had a great experience at this place before but I'm not sure it's new hires that just don't care about their job at all. Walked in there with my little sister to get her ice cream and no one was at the front. We waited there for 5-10 minutes and no one care. I even went to the side to get their attention and none of the girls even bothered coming out. Absolutely made me hate this place. Went here today to cool off from a very hot day, they have a lot of flavors but it seemed quite a few machines were not working or empty. I had a cup with Smore's, Red Velvet and Peanut Butter Explosion with cookie dough and Reese's crumbles. It was the perfect treat on a hot day. It was kind of crowded but moved pretty quickly. I like that they give you sample cups to try the different flavors. My only wish would be that they have more sugar-free/low sugar options. FYI I usually take pictures of my food, but it was so hot and so good it was gone in no time! read more

Horrible. For the past month they have been severely under stocked. How is it possible that a flavor they've had forever is no longer available? In the beginning I absolutely loved it but then I felt like there wasnt a lot of flavors at this place and when I went to Bayonne it was much more mixed. I had a lot more choices. Also it starts to melt quickly which I do not like because it turns into a milkshake. Every now and then though I still have the urge to come and get my nice little mix it doesn't come out too expensive but I still do love my hard ice cream. The girl who was working at my visit just now totally ruined my first experience at Cups. Not only was she unprofessional but she was beyond rude and gave nasty looks the entire time. I had wanted the cookies and cream and she tells me it's not working and if I keep pulling the bar, I can break the machine. Then she went on to say in the utmost sarcastic voice "you're actually going to wait the five minutes for the wash out?" Uhm yes because I want cookies and cream -- which btw didn't work. Then when I went to go get hot fudge she laughed in my face and said "yeah that's not working either". Upon paying for my friend and I, she decided to give me a nasty look and roll her eyes while proceeding to hand me my debit card in a nasty fashion. I've always been wary of the pay per pound business model. I've gotten screwed over one too many times because my gluttony forces me to get a ton more [chicken and broccoli / cookie toppings / rice and beans / whatever the food establishment sells] than I really need. Still, during a family outing one afternoon, I found myself at the Secaucus location of Cups. I'd never been here before, although the last time I was at a "help yourself to as much as you want and we'll charge you" ice cream place, I wound up with a $10 sundae. Determined to balance out my wallet and my taste experience, I went light on the yogurt, medium on the toppings. I wound up getting 2 lavors and a healthy sampling of several toppings. Total came out to about $4 and change - not too bad, especially considering the girl who came in after me wound up ordering a $12 yogurt. Newbie. The yogurt was delicious and the staff was very courteous and upbeat. The only knocks on this place are the somewhat cramped space (we had about 7 people in my group and we filled up the whole store) and the blaring club music. I instinctively went into fist pump mode but had to stop when my mom started giving me 'the look' to stop. At least I was able to tag a few songs on Shazam before I left. I've had this frozen yogurt before at the location in Clifton and I LOVE IT! I live for the red velvet and cake batter but I was kinda disappointed in this location. The Cake batter was extremely darker looking and it definitely didn't taste the same. I don't know how that's possible but it's true. It took probably 1 minute before my yogurt was complete "soup". I never had it melt so fast on me. I definitely wouldn't eliminate Cups but I am definitely eliminating this location. When I'm craving Cups I'm heading to Clifton! read more

It's fine for what it is, and no different than the multitudes of yogurt places filling strip malls and store fronts everywhere these days. It gets crazy in there with the throngs of children, adolescents, etc. The flavor selection is repetitious, lots of "cake" flavors...cheese, red velvet, birthday, and so forth. This place was nice. We went in January so it was empty, which I enjoyed. It a cute little spot. I got the custard flavor and went crazy with the fun toppings. I love that they weigh it and charge you a set price, as opposed to some places that charge for every topping. I like that nobody bothered us while we were enjoying the different items. This is a chain apparently.... I dont know, I'm from New Yawk!! These types of fro-yo places are popping up everywhere and I'm digging it. Lots of flavors, lots of toppings, and a large cup! Be careful how much you fill up because its weighed by oz's! The ambiance in here is very girly (pinks, purples), which I loved. The teenage cashiers were bubbly. Perfect, healther dessert after some food and shopping. TIP: get the red velvet fro-yo!! TIP 2: they had these mango flavored, cavier-looking balls as a topping. I love Cups, they have great flavors. But unfortunately this location, Secaucus , their machines are always broken! So it's a very disappointing experience. I do come here a lot.
