Unassuming, small and decorated in Shabby Chic and the ""modern cafeteria" vibe with black metal, bricks and no decor on the walls. It's noisy even with only a few customers inside, the walls being brick and VERY reflective and echoing the grinding,whirring and 90's throwbacks coming off the speaker (not complaining at all about the music selection, btw)! Service is prompt, and despite it being relatively busy when i stepped in, even with a slightly left of centre order it was done and in my hands in a relatively short amount of time. The coffee itself was good; not great, but I certainly have had more disappointing coffee in my travels around. You could do far, far worse Than Agent Cooper.

Groups of tables and chairs divided by half walls which lower the noise and bench seats across one wall add extra comfort. Well, retirement didn't suit them, so now they run Churros Cafe at the Island Markets. The paella is finished and ready to serve at 12 noon - and sometimes sells out soon after. What started as a goal to buy beans, transformed into a unique educational experience complete with a cup of coffee and exceptional conversation. When I entered the shop, I was immediately greeted warmly by the owners, Rachael and Matthew. Rachael made me a delicous latte just for stopping in! Sensing my interest in the process of coffee roasting, Rachael gave me a personal tour of the company's roasting and production area. The company also fixes coffee machines. Matthew and Rachael continued with a tour of the workshop filled with machines and parts. Their knowledge of coffee and all aspects of production is very impressive. After having coffee at a number of fabulous restaurants in Hobart, I was amazed to discover that Tascaffe is the supplier for all of them. They roast and produce a diverse range of coffee blends unique to various establishments. I procured two bags of coffee beans including the strong Retro blend and Italiano for extremely reasonable prices. Such delicious coffee and so fun to learn the process behind the coffee. This proved to be a highlight of my trip to Tasmania.

The day or two old carrot cake was even more disappointing in light of it being made across the road at the patisserie so I'd expect it would be fresher, and the waiting game for the man that came in afterwards with respect to being able to order a coffee didn't impress either. Not only that it's a massive space with a first floor as well, with numerous rooms filled with local artists pieces. Even a room or 2 for meetings? Specialised Art classes out the back of the original post office in another separate building as well. Oh did I mention they do food as well? Open early (7:30am!!!) for coffee and more their hours seem to be far from consistent. It might be an idea to define far more consistent hours IMO. The menu is extensive and we only had pizzas on our visit. We will be back for sure. They do sandwiches, cakes, scones and so much more. Haven't had a coffee there and let's hope it's good. Early days yet and the concept is great. Let's hope it works!!! They deserve everyone to vist and the locals are already embrassing it.
