I made that mistake and am fighting to stop them from renewing my subscription against my will. UPDATE: Almost immediately after posting this review, I got an email reply from the Hippo saying they'll set my subscription to not renew. It doesn't excuse the extreme sloppiness, so I'm leaving the review at one star. I got an email from Stripe notifying me that my subscription is coming up for renewal. If I log into the Hippo website and try to manage my subscription, the link is to a wp-admin page; ordinary users of a Wordpress site should never be taken to an admin page, so that's bad design at best. In any case, clicking on the link redirects back to the Hippo homepage. It's impossible, as far as I can tell, to cancel my subscription through their website. The email gives a phone number with a 660 area code. That's in Missouri, and the Hippo is a New Hampshire publication. I called it and was told the number isn't in service. I called the number on the Hippo's website after hours; the system doesn't give any option for subscription questions. I got taken to a voice mailbox which was full. I'll try again today during business hours but don't have much hope. The only question in my mind is whether the Hippo is criminally incompetent or just plain criminal.

I like that it offers the arts and I can find out about concerts and new restaurants in the area. Its not very gay or have many gay establishments advertised. That kinda sucks, but again I like how it connects me to my not so gay, community here in Southern NH.
