This house turned shop is located just a short distance north of downtown Columbus. It takes a bit…read moreof attention to approach since the neighborhood is filled with "one way" streets. Once you find it, there is street parking on Home Ave and a small lot on the property, both options free. You enter the shop on the northeast end of the building. There is a showroom of items that give you an instant feel of nicely arranged decor and furniture with the checkout counter in the back of this room. The rest of the business is arranged in an oval pattern of rooms that let you easily flow through the shop and finish back at the checkout. Along the way, I found a couple brands of candles gathered into displays, and lots of furniture; some painted, some still with original finish. I even found a hallway filled with dog treats! But mainly, there are lots of antique items that are in different condition dispersed among home decor accessories and furniture. If anything, the orderliness and open spacing feel almost empty compared to the majority of antique shops I have visited that are packed to overflowing. It made for a nice change of pace when antiquing. Because of the nice displays, it can be inspirational to shoppers for possible ways to display the items in their own homes. One of the most unique things I saw during my visit was a Vietnam-era Army Coat. There are tons of items here to browse. Because the store has independent vendor booths, you may able able to negotiate with the vendor to get a lower price on some items. This is a neat little spot that even though it is huge, it is clean and very well organized. You could spend a considerable amount of time going through here. This is a moderately large and orderly antique/collectible shop. I was impressed that the booths were all well kept, not filled with junky stuff that someone would find at a flea market or garage sale. Well, maybe some of that stuff, but generally there was a better quality of items than I've seen at a lot of places. There seemed to be a fair amount of furniture and oil paintings. There were Coca-Cola and some Barbie items too. However, the number of pure antiques was relatively low. My wife and I used to buy these all the time when they had a shop closer to our home, but now we only visit the store occasionally. The store is spacious with orderly aisles filled with different sized candles and lots of scents. I started on the right side where the large candles were located, but because these aren't cheap (even at half off the suggested price), I migrated to the left side where the smaller jars were. I was able to pick up a couple scents at a more affordable price. The After Sledding is a red candle that reminds me of a holiday kitchen after some baking had taken place. Aromatic Orange and Evergreen is a green candle that marries the two scents in the title. Very fresh! The staff, when not behind the counter at the back, were out mingling with customers to see if they could be of assistance. When I arrived in line and had to wait, the other register was opened so that I could check out promptly. Very observant and considerate!
