I have some co workers from Wisconsin, I told them a few months ago there was a Culvers coming to Summerville. They were so excited, they kept talking about the butter burgers , and the custard. I rode pass Culvers on Monday because I read on goggle it was there grand opening. Well the traffic was backed up at the light because there drive thru was wrapped around the entrance to come in and the parking lot was packed, no place to park. Some of there customers probably parked in the Waffle House parking lot, I bet the WH employees wasn't happy about that. So Monday I didn't stop it was a mad house. I decided to stop on Wednesday on my way home. I ordered the deluxe butter burger value basket, that came with fries and a drink. When I got in my ride I immediately ate some fries, and cheese curds. They were fresh and hot, who doesn't love hot food. I didn't eat my burger until I got home which was another 30 minutes. The burger was still warm, but I had to give 10secs in microwave. Did I mention it has 2 patties, you can ask for a single patty. I thought about changing but I'm glad I kept the 2. I ate the whole burger it was good, The bun was super soft, and I love bread. The cheese curds are a mix of the white and yellow cheese, and the fries are the crinkle cut. I You can change your side from classic to premium, to signature, for an extra charge. You can also change your drink to a shake, malt, or float. They also have soups, salads chicken, seafood, and homestyle favorites options. You have to check out there menu online before you go, because when you walk in the menu is like 2 70 inch TV'S. I didn't order the custard because I didn't want it to melt by the time I got home, but I will be returning to try this next. read more

The food here is good, you can tell the meat is fresh. It's not anything out of this world. The lines can be a little crazy but I'm sure it's because it's 'new'. Having lived in Illinois, we were so excited to see that Culver's was being built in Summerville. As with all really good chain restaurants, we figured they would be incredibly crowded for the first month at least. And I have yet to drive by when they weren't really crowded. Despite that, my daughter and I went anyway after a Friday evening movie. Whomever planned the parking area needs to be sentenced to directing traffic there indefinitely. There are a decent enough amount of parking spaces, the problem is that there are supposed to be two one way lanes through the parking lot and around the building - one for the drive thru and one for anyone that doesn't have a few hours to kill waiting to get through the drive thru. We parked and went in because we thought it would be quicker. Ha. Ha. One thing I have to give this Culvers credit for - there were plenty of people in the building with Culver's uniforms on. Every register was open and there was a consistent effort by the folks working the registers to take the orders of the crowd of people flooding the place. What isn't as fantastic is that there is no where for all the people to go that are waiting for to go orders. You don't want to take a table away from someone that's actually planning to eat there, so you end up wedging yourself in wherever you can find a spot. The issue with this is twofold. One, you are in the way no matter where you stand and two, it is confusing to people walking in to order because they often assume you are still in line. So the area from in front of the registers alllllllll the way out the door is full of people not exactly sure who is in the line waiting to order and who is in the line waiting for food. It's very nice that you get a number and someone brings you your order. It's not nice that if they don't see the number they are looking for that it isn't announced somehow. When you've got 30 people waiting for orders, it's not exactly a clear sight line to all those numbered plastic order tents since most people have them in their hands which are usually hanging down. So really, the employees are relegated to crotch height surveillance to match up orders. You can imagine the confusion. We waited over 30 minutes for our food. Unfortunately, we had also ordered shakes for my husband and son which we had seen brought out about 10 minutes prior to our food. The employee approached three different people then turned around and went back into the prep area. They didn't hear us trying to get their attention that we had ordered two shakes, and we figured there was just as good a chance that they weren't ours as there was that they were. When we got our food, we mentioned we were waiting for our shakes and a cone for my daughter. The employee disappeared we thought to either get the rest of our order or to tell someone we needed the rest. 10 minutes later we were still waiting. I wove through the crowd and asked someone about it and he was very nice and apologetic and said he would have them right out. And he did, only the shakes were all melted because apparently the shakes from 20 minutes ago were indeed ours. And then we still had to remind him about the cone for my daughter, which he then prepared immediately. Food, shakes, and cone in hand we left to go home. Or tried. While we were able to pull out of our parking space thanks to the very considerate person who let me back up, we then spent 30 minutes waiting because the people in the drive thru lane were actually in the middle of the parking lot which means you cannot pass them - just like the Black Knight scene from Monty Python. NONE SHALL PASS!!!!!! So no one could actually park because there wasn't enough room to swing into a space and you couldn't go around because cars were lined up in the middle of the parking lot and there wasn't enough space to go by on either side. Not to mention all the people that were finished eating and trying to leave but couldn't because there wasn't enough room to pull out of a parking space either. Pretty frustrating. I'd love to say that the food was at least worth it, but by the time we got home it was ice cold and it wasn't even correct, which I admit we should have checked before we left. I mean, it wasn't like we didn't have plenty of time to do so. While Culver's has been one of our favorite places to eat for years, I think we will just stick with the ones located in the Midwest. read more

We had the double cheeseburger baskets. The burger was delicious and fries were hot and crisp. My husband had the vanilla shake which he enjoyed...and didn't share. Ha! I had Culvers Root Beer which you need to try. Next time I am getting a root beer float! A server gave us a sample of their famous cheese curds. My first experience....if you are a mozzarella sticks lover you will enjoy them.The place was packed, but our food was served quickly. read more

We stopped by on a Sunday evening at around 7. We were hoping that it wouldnt be packed but we were wrong. Regardless we decided to check it out. We ordered three kids meals and 2 butter cheeseburgers since they are known for their butter buns. The kids meals comes with an adequate amount of food plus the custard that comes with it, is a nice touch. They can choose from the flavor of the day, vanilla and chocolate as well as one topping for it. We waited for our food for about 30 min. We took a bite of our burger expecting the harps to play and sounds of hallelujah. Unfortunately it wasn't anything special. In our opinion, Five Guys and Burger-Fi has better burgers. The fires were plain, some seasoning would have been good. The custard flavor of the day was a salted caramel and it was fine. The parking lot was a nightmare to get out of as well. The drive thru gets backed up resulting in the parked cars being stuck in hopes of someone being kind enough to let you out. I don't see us going here again. read more

I actually got a chance to eat here the other day and wasn't impressed with anything. Your DT line was still out to Main st. and almost causing wrecks. With the number of people you had on the clock you 100% should have been able to push out food faster than you were (speaking from a lot of experience). Once inside the guy taking our order was great. my kids each got burger meals and I tried the Cod fish dinner with green beans and mashed potatoes/gravy. It topk about 15 minutes to get the food which would have been fine except for the before stated abundance of staff. when we got home I looked at the burgers and they we overcooked and charred. The fries weren't anything special either. the issue I had was that the plastic tray/plate they put my food in had a hole in the bottom where the green beans were so greasy water was all over everything. Also, I was really only able to eat 1 of the 3 pieces of fish bc the other 2 were sitting on top of slices of lemon wich just made the fried breading a soggy mess. I got a chocolate custard shake as well and it just kinda tasted like melted ice cream(I might just be used to the shakes where I work tho so that didn't factor in to anything) I was not impressed and won't be back though. I can only imagine what the food quality will turn to once you guys slow down and to start controling labor and have fewer people there. read more

So it was one of those evenings you just don't feel like cooking or doing dishes. With Culverd being fairly new The One and i thought it might be time to give them a try. First, up, be alert in the driveway, there isba lot going on withbthe gasbststaion next door and the busy road doesnt leave much time for quick turnoffs. The staff are very pleasant ( think ChicFilA) and there is enough variety on the menu to get by. The One with a burger, not shocking, and I tried some open faced roast beef thing with mashed potatoes thatvwas filling but forgettable. Wanted to check the place out since they opened, but they always seem busy. We decided to stop in while driving towards Summerville on a Friday afternoon. They were busy to say the least. Parking is a nightmare, not because they don't have enough, but because people you get stuck trying to back out into the drive through line. I think the confusion lies on the stop sign on the lane that's covered with drive through cars. Fast forward to being inside and ordering. There didn't seem to be a system to getting in line. We stood around waiting in a crowd of people, all trying to figure out who was next, though all of the registers were open. We opted to sit outside (make sure you tell the cashier you're sitting in the patio so your server isn't looking for you in the restaurant, resulting in cold food), they give you a number to make the process easier on them. Food was average, maybe it was overhyped because they're an out of state chain. Didn't get to try their frozen custards, so might come back when they weren't too busy. read more

I am giving Culver's a 5 star because my service tonight was phenomenal! When we pulled up to the drive thru for our after dinner dessert I could not believe how well spoken the young man was. He was extremely helpful and articulate with our choices and options. As a teacher I find joy in young men and women being well spoken and taking pride in all they do! I felt the need to tell Zach this when we got to the window and he expressed how he has been working for 9 hours and was exhausted but still always tries to keep a friendly and positive attitude! And well.... he definitely did! I wish Zach all the success because he was very delightful and many could learn from him! Well done, Culver's! read more

Food is as good as any other Culvers. Service is rotten. Not rude, but definitely not pleasant (think your average McDonalds). My son fell over on his chair right in front of an employee, spilling his drink on the floor. She waited till I got him up (thankfully unhurt) and walked right by us without saying a word. No checking if he was ok, no offering extra napkins to clean up the mess, not even eye contact. NOTHING!!!! If Culvers wants this place to be successful, they should get some pointers from a Chick Fil A. So many decent places to eat, service is THE most important thing. They will not get another penny from my family. read more

We come from the Midwest where Culvers is a staple. Here in Summerville it is a new restaurant and we are thankful for having it here. Always good food and terrific service. Can't beat the ice cream. I think people are getting used to this place now and the line isn't as outrageous as once was. I bought into the hype and stopped in. I don't eat beef so just skip this review if you were looking for a review of the burger. I got the cod sandwich and it was very mediocre. You can get better elsewhere. And yes I tried the custard and it was the same. It was just ok. Maybe the hype is all about the burger, I just missed it I guess. read more

The place has just opened, and everybody has to rush out and try it. I came here wanting one thing, and that was a walleye dinner. I settled for the cod and it's good, but not shuckin good. i ordered a butter bacon cheese burger, with mayo and ketchup. Only got mustard and pickles and no bacon. also the chicken sandwich we ordered tasted very fishy and came with a sprinkle of lettuce and nothing else. Would not recommend to anyone read more

I love this place! Their mushroom swiss burger was juicy and fresh, and the crinkle fries were awesome too! But I saved my favorite part for last! The frozen custard is amazing! Twenty minutes in drive thru and having to keep moving to let people out, we finally reached the drive thru window to be told to pull ahead, but couldn't because the line was so backed up. Finally we got our food and drive home. Once there we realized our order was wrong. Then we began eating. The burgers were tasteless and not worth the price or the wait. Very disappointed.
