I had to try this classic destination while visiting Chicago. I tried the corn dog, onion rings, pretzel bites and burger (not pictured). All the food was typical of a fast food joint. It was served hot, and the portion sizes were large. We ordered it for takeout so I can't speak to the service or ambiance.

After one bite this is what I get

There ice cream for the mixer was like soup I took one bite and it was already melted we got the flavor of the day and it melted on the guys hand

This review is strictly for Culver's food and not the specific location. I have a sort of love/ hate relationship with Culver's food. I have had Culver's food a plenty of times in the past and all that time a couple of things have been consistent. Their burgers are boring or as someone would say these days, "just meh!" But their fried fish, cheese curds (decent) and frozen custard are good. I recently had their double bacon cheeseburger and it was just average in taste. And I had asked for it without mayo, which was confirmed while the order was passed on to the kitchen, but when I came home with burger, it was lathered in the damn mayo. I hate mayo on burgers. It does not belong on it, in my opinion. It ruins the taste of the burgers. The burgers aren't even half as good as how they advertise them on their t.v. commercials (Just a thought. I know what they show is not how exactly it is usually). My main reason of going to Culver's is for their frozen custard. I like to try some of their varieties in the form of a concrete, sundae or a milkshake. The only reason why I had their burger recently was because I had coupon with a good deal. The prices aren't bad and the service at this location is good. I'd only go again for their frozen custard and maybe their fried fish. Two and a half-stars like place for me. They try to be better than average but are just an average, family friendly fast food place (in terms of their food, I mean).

Two nights out of three, no ketchup cups. Wow, fries come with most meals. The first night, a young man behind the counter tried to give me a bunch of those tiny ketchup packets that are hard to open rather than make sure the supplies are adequate. The second night, I didn't feel like they wanted to be bothered. The food was okay, better than McDonald's, if that's your measuring stick.

Like many other Culver's, the staff here is quite different - and better - than similar places. They deliver your food and actually ask if you need anything else. The Double Butterburger Deluxe is an especially good sandwich and reasonable at about $6.50.

Um frozen custard, butter burgers & fried cheese curds are the staples here. I mean how can you go wrong with that?

Nikkos offers a wide variety of food, not just Greek. Burgers, dogs, Italian beef, etc. I know from experience both Mediterranean and Middle Eastern places generally offer very good burgers, but I haven't personally tried Nikkos'. I must try them soon. What I *have* tried are Italian beef, gyro, and chicken, both in plate and sandwich forms. Gyro and chicken dishes did not disappoint. Their chicken kebab plate is my daughter's new go-to Greek dish, and I can personally attest to their gyro and tzatziki sauce. Super legit. Also, French fries are good. I've tried their Italian beef now twice, but both times I thought they didn't do a very good job getting rid of beef taint. Gravy was okay; nothing special. I'd personally put them right at the same level as Portillo's. It's got a very old-school diner feel to the place. Menus are displayed with pictures over the counter, making it super easy to read and order. As far as friendliness of the cashier goes, I'd rate them 3 of 5. I was greeted and tended by a very nice lady once, but it was two grumpy dudes the other time who were all business and no play. Nothing wrong with their work ethics or order accuracy or anything. They were just unpleasant. Just so I'm clear, these encounters don't usually deter my star ratings. More so an FYI. All in all, I'm happy with my Greek plates at Nikkos. I'll probably go back to try rest of the other menu items like shish kebab or even a burger.
