Wish I could give zero stars. The rudest employees ever! We ordered a side of ranch and waited at the counter forever just getting ignored. We tried to say excuse me to several and they would not acknowledge us. We finally got one guys attention in full Culver's uniform and he said, "I'm not clocked in. I can't help you." I informed him that I was just waiting on ranch and his response was "I don't even know where that is. I work in the kitchen!" We placed an online order at 6:10 for pick up at 6:30, we arrived 10 minutes early so I didn't mind waiting for our food, but alas 6:30 came and went and there was still no sign of our food, it was not until around 6:40 that our food was ready. Upon receiving our food, the worker handed us 3 bags, one of which almost overflowing. This is for an order that was 2 hamburgers and fries. So I asked the worker if this one the right order. The worker assured us however that it was indeed the right order and we went to sit down. 2 minutes after arriving at our seats, the same worker came over and informed us that it was not in fact the right order. I had already taken most of the food out of the bag, I had only not touched two burgers. Now I told the worker exactly what I had ordered, however he did not seem to understand and spent the next 5 minutes trying to figure out which one was ours. Then he took food that we had touched back to be served to the right customers. Finally the ordeal was over, we could finally eat, but this dream was immediately shattered when I took the first bite, to find all four things that we had ordered were cold. We travel all over the US and this is by far the worst Culver's I've ever been to. Drinks aren't mixed right; most of them are disgusting and undrinkable. Food is overpriced. Also, what I finally realized is that this location (Mount Vernon, IL) cheats you on the fries for the basket meals... ordering a basket adds a medium drink and a medium fry to your sandwich... but this location gives you a small fry and drink and claims they are mediums. We've been here six or seven times and realized they are cheating everyone after we dined at Culver's in other areas --- including a couple of them in Missouri; one in Evansville, IN; and another in Decatur, AL... where you get the correct size of fries and drink with a basket combo. read more

Discovered Culver's a while back on a trip to Chicago and have made it a must-stop ever since. Fresh food and fresh dairy and ice cream products and the restaurant is super clean! It's very refreshing to go into a restaurant and receive great service. It's almost like a "chick---a" for Hamburgers especially in their attention to detail. I go to Culver's in Mt Vernon once or twice a week. My purpose is to enjoy the Flavor of the Day Custard. Last week it was Strawberry Chocolate Parfait, which sounded yummy! When I placed my order, I asked if they would be sure to mix the ingredients in well and please be sure there was plenty mixed in! My reason for asking was, earlier in the week, I had visited this Culver's and ordered a Strawberry and Dove Chocolate mixer. When I pulled away, after a few bites, I noticed the Strawberry and Chocolate were only mixed in on the top third of the cup, leaving me with 2/3 cup of vanilla custard, of which I am not a fan of. Unfortunately, my Flavor of the day was mostly vanilla again. I stopped to pick up dinner this afternoon and used their drive thru. When I pulled up there were 3 employees sitting outside sharing a vape pen which should have been my first clue. We know this is a hard time for businesses and are trying to frequent them as much as we feel it is safe. We've been going to Culver's for too many years to count. Always had good experiences so when we pulled up to the Mount Vernon location we were expecting a pleasant experience, as usual. The food was good, as always, however, we were shocked by a sign posted regarding wearing a mask. The sign states it Is not a law to have to wear a mask...huh?? Read the IDPH much?? All the employees inside had masks on, they were even wearing them over their noses. One employee who was cleaning the patio had no mask on while within six feet of patrons. I understand the risk is lower outside but the optics aren't great. Every other Culver's we've been to in the state have required masks...so I'm not sure what's up with this one. Make no mistake, we're Culver's aficionados, and were thrilled when this unit close to us opened earlier this year. After three tries, the reality has left us a little bummed - the feature hamburgers don't taste quite the same as at the several other Culver's locations of our experience. We can't figure out if it's a prep problem or the supplier, but it just doesn't have that seared "tang" unique to the chain. Hope they can work it out. The custard is great, just as it should be Unique to this location is a meeting room equipped with a video projector and screen, but is available for general dining when not hosting a meeting. It's a nice, quiet getaway from the main room. Also unique to this store is the ambiance music, Christian pop. Not fans of the genre, it was a "Huh?!?" on our first visit, but since then it seems the volume has been lowered to background levels and not nearly as intrusive as it was. read more
