Culver's in Mt Vernon! What is not to love! The service was great and staff were courteous! Dining areas and bathrooms were clean and well maintained. My wife had a bacon double with cheese and no bun as she not only is GF but trying to go carnivore. I had the Wisconsin Swiss double on GF bun which was fantastic! Their fries are especially great! The parking is ample and easy access to any from the interstate. Culver's rocks no exceptions here! read more

Wish I could give zero stars. The rudest employees ever! We ordered a side of ranch and waited at the counter forever just getting ignored. We tried to say excuse me to several and they would not acknowledge us. We finally got one guys attention in full Culver's uniform and he said, "I'm not clocked in. I can't help you." I informed him that I was just waiting on ranch and his response was "I don't even know where that is. I work in the kitchen!" We stopped at Culver's in Mount Vernon; the service and food preparation were the worst we've ever received in over 25 years of going to Culver's Rst. This is a hard pass! The restaurant is severely understaffed and lacked the experienced crew normally encountered at Culver's. Culver's usually does better. read more

We placed an online order at 6:10 for pick up at 6:30, we arrived 10 minutes early so I didn't mind waiting for our food, but alas 6:30 came and went and there was still no sign of our food, it was not until around 6:40 that our food was ready. Upon receiving our food, the worker handed us 3 bags, one of which almost overflowing. This is for an order that was 2 hamburgers and fries. So I asked the worker if this one the right order. The worker assured us however that it was indeed the right order and we went to sit down. 2 minutes after arriving at our seats, the same worker came over and informed us that it was not in fact the right order. I had already taken most of the food out of the bag, I had only not touched two burgers. Now I told the worker exactly what I had ordered, however he did not seem to understand and spent the next 5 minutes trying to figure out which one was ours. Then he took food that we had touched back to be served to the right customers. Finally the ordeal was over, we could finally eat, but this dream was immediately shattered when I took the first bite, to find all four things that we had ordered were cold. Having moved away from the Midwest, I was very excited to be able to eat Culver's again for the first time in a long time, however this experience has left me extremely disappointed and I would not recommend anyone eat here. read more

Appreciate their organization at the drive-thru which lets you order, pay, and pull up into an assigned lane with a sticky note number that lets the car hop find you and deliver your order. We travel all over the US and this is by far the worst Culver's I've ever been to. The entrance door was filthy, hello Culver's pressure wash! The service was horrible, we didn't get even close to what we ordered, took 3 trips to make it passable. Food was STONE COLD, explains the 30 minute wait for food. The trash cans were overflowing - employees were standing around not doing anything. People actually put their full trays on the floor by the garbage because it was so bad. There was NO KETCHUP! All 3 bins of ketchup were empty - we were there almost an hour no one did anything despite being told repeatedly by customers there was no ketchup, Counter person gave us 3 ketchup packets but said that is all they have. Dismal, bad food, horrible service, nasty tables/floors/entry way. Shut it down, clean it up, train your staff and chefs, stock the place appropriately and then reopen. Should take about a month! Drinks aren't mixed right; most of them are disgusting and undrinkable. Food is overpriced. Also, what I finally realized is that this location (Mount Vernon, IL) cheats you on the fries for the basket meals... ordering a basket adds a medium drink and a medium fry to your sandwich... but this location gives you a small fry and drink and claims they are mediums. We've been here six or seven times and realized they are cheating everyone after we dined at Culver's in other areas --- including a couple of them in Missouri; one in Evansville, IN; and another in Decatur, AL... where you get the correct size of fries and drink with a basket combo. read more

Discovered Culver's a while back on a trip to Chicago and have made it a must-stop ever since. Fresh food and fresh dairy and ice cream products and the restaurant is super clean! It's very refreshing to go into a restaurant and receive great service. It's almost like a "chick---a" for Hamburgers especially in their attention to detail. I go to Culver's in Mt Vernon once or twice a week. My purpose is to enjoy the Flavor of the Day Custard. Last week it was Strawberry Chocolate Parfait, which sounded yummy! When I placed my order, I asked if they would be sure to mix the ingredients in well and please be sure there was plenty mixed in! My reason for asking was, earlier in the week, I had visited this Culver's and ordered a Strawberry and Dove Chocolate mixer. When I pulled away, after a few bites, I noticed the Strawberry and Chocolate were only mixed in on the top third of the cup, leaving me with 2/3 cup of vanilla custard, of which I am not a fan of. Unfortunately, my Flavor of the day was mostly vanilla again. I know it is hard to find help, which may lead to added stress on those working.. the evening I was there, there were several working, but for 3-5 minutes, a few (3-4) of the younger staff were talking and laughing through the window between the counter and the kitchen.. several customers were waiting on their orders, some impatiently.... Could have been shift change, but it was clear that the place is in some serious need of Lean principals and the introduction of standard work. Workers seemed nice, but they seem poorly trained and not sure of who does what in the process resulting in slow processing of orders. We know this is a hard time for businesses and are trying to frequent them as much as we feel it is safe. We've been going to Culver's for too many years to count. Always had good experiences so when we pulled up to the Mount Vernon location we were expecting a pleasant experience, as usual. The food was good, as always, however, we were shocked by a sign posted regarding wearing a mask. The sign states it Is not a law to have to wear a mask...huh?? Read the IDPH much?? All the employees inside had masks on, they were even wearing them over their noses. One employee who was cleaning the patio had no mask on while within six feet of patrons. I understand the risk is lower outside but the optics aren't great. Every other Culver's we've been to in the state have required masks...so I'm not sure what's up with this one. Make no mistake, we're Culver's aficionados, and were thrilled when this unit close to us opened earlier this year. After three tries, the reality has left us a little bummed - the feature hamburgers don't taste quite the same as at the several other Culver's locations of our experience. We can't figure out if it's a prep problem or the supplier, but it just doesn't have that seared "tang" unique to the chain. Hope they can work it out. The custard is great, just as it should be Unique to this location is a meeting room equipped with a video projector and screen, but is available for general dining when not hosting a meeting. It's a nice, quiet getaway from the main room. Also unique to this store is the ambiance music, Christian pop. Not fans of the genre, it was a "Huh?!?" on our first visit, but since then it seems the volume has been lowered to background levels and not nearly as intrusive as it was. read more

I was satisfied by this. Then the rude manager asks for my sandwich back and hands me a free coupon for a new sandwich.
