my mom and I stopped on a trip to Wisconsin. Sunday lunch. it was packed. fortunately we were able to order right away and find a table to sit at. order staff was nice but completely screwed the order up. I asked mom if she was getting fries, she said yes, I said oh good we can share. I ordered a single butter burger no fries. Culver's is a great stop along the route from Iowa to Minnesota with good gluten free options. I got a butter burger with a gluten free bun and a scoop of chocolate custard. They mark it as an allergy and the bun comes separately to avoid contamination. I appreciate that they take gluten allergies safely because it is usually hard to find fast food restaurants. For fast food it is a decent price as well. Service was pretty quick as well and the employees were nice. read more

In the last year this place has become very disappointing. The food has come to me cold the last 2 visits but the bigger concern is the staff doesn't seem NOT care and gets upset if you say anything about it. I would not suggest this place to anyone no matter how hungry you are. read more

We were on our way back home from Omaha and the kids were restless and hungry. Just off of I-35, is both this Culver's and a nice little park and playground. We usually get fries and a chocolate custard. The kids devour them and then they run off to let out some pent-up energy at the park. I've eaten here twice. Both times the restaurant had an overwhelming smell of bo. I don't know if it's the clientele or something they use to clean or something else but it's rather off putting while trying to eat. I would say of all the different Culver's I've eaten at, this location is the most rundown and the staff isn't as friendly as most. read more

My husband and I drove from Indiana to Minnesota , after 5 1/2 hours in the car we stopped here to grab a burger. The lobby closes at 8:00 P.M. We pulled up at 7:59 P.M. We jumped out of the car hoping we would make it. As we walked up, Brenda was locking the door. She greeted us with a smile and said come on in! We walked in and the staff never made us feel like we had to hurry or gave off any irritation. The food was hot and fresh! As Vicki was finishing up the dinning room ,she stopped and chatted with us and made us feel at home. What a sweet lady! We definitely would recommended a visit here and we will be back the next time we head up to Minnesota. read more

I am always looking for something local when I ear and on a recent cross country trip, I found Culver, a Midwest faster food chain. The bacon cheeseburger was really good and cheap. The French fries were hot and crispy. The woman at the cash register was so helpful explaining the menu, the various options and how I had to come back for some of their famous custards. She explained Culver is 90% cream and 10% air. All the others are 90% air. She was right - that is one fine custard and they all come with toppings. My wife and I were running up from Cedar Falls and decided to stop at Culvers for a pit stop along the way up to Minneapolis. I got the chicken grilled sandwich and the green bean side with a Diet Mt. Dew for my drink. The green beans were great, not a ton of butter which I expected, but they were perfect as a side. The chicken breast was perfect, but the tomato and lettuce sure looked a lot different then the picture on the menu. The chicken was perfect, but I would have like a little bit more better presentation on the lettuce. I realize it is a fast food place, but take a little pride in presentation. The tomato was good, but the lettuce was like spilling off the side and was really not good. I think the cook threw a few shreds of iceberg on there. The picture made it look like they threw a leaf of Romaine on there. For 5 cents more for a slice of lettuce instead of crappy shredded lettuce it would add a huge touch. For a fast food place it was a lot better than McDonald's, but I would have liked a little bit better presentation. I realize I am paying $8 instead of $12 at a restaurant, but the store or district manager should make sure that every meal looks like they at least tried. I worked at McDonald's for 2 years but when I was on grill, I tried to make the Big Mac look as great as it could. For $4.25 an hour I took a lot of pride in my sandwiches and actually had people tell me that they were great compared to their usual stuff. The service was great though, I just wish that a high volume restaurant realized that every customer was special and not just someone that was flying by, because we all tell our friends where to stop on road trips. We pass through Clear Lake almost every other week and frequently have stopped at Culver's for food- not ever again. Ordered a caramel cashew sundae to go with the meal. The food was brought to us sans the sundae- we asked for it- the kid turned around grabbed a discarded cup of ice cream out of a sink and tried to give it to us. We said it was a caramel cashew sundae. He said no you got the flavor of the day. I said - no it was a caramel cashew Sunday- in fact I had to tell her twice cause she asked me to repeat myself. The cluster of kids started arguing with us and making snide comments - so I said if it's too much bother refund our money instead. Dropped by here on our way back from Iowa city. Service was quick, we got the mushroom and Swiss burger with double patty. They knew we were sharing and even offered to split the burger in half, how fantastic. Burger was super yummy. We also got the cheese curd - batter was a little too thick, cheese wasn't melty in the middle. Love their shakes- my favorite is the vanilla custard shake with chocolate, raspberry and banana. Delicious Yummie. Whenever we see a Culivers we have to stop. The fish is sooo good. Usually get 2 or 3 piece dinner but got a fish sandwich last stop. It was sooo good too. Was surprised that they have a different kind of bun, much better than the norm buns we get on sandwitches. Can't wait to get back there. read more

First time at a Culver's and it wasn't bad. The food was good. It was a bit greasy and sloppy but it was good. My only issue was the cost. A sandwich, onion rings and large drink was $10+. New to the Midwest and tried Culvers in Clear Lake, Iowa. Husband and I are not fast food people. This restaurant was so clean. I saw one of the employees scrubbing the rock decor in the lobby area. I discovered Culver's while on a road trip from Southern California to a family reunion in Minnesota. I was surprised and impressed, the burgers are pretty good and the frozen custard is badass. They also have friend cheese curds, and cheese curds were one of my favorite Midwestern discoveries. I wish we could get some Culver's locations, or at least some frozen custard, out here in Cali. read more

After waiting for 55 minutes at Perkins and no food, we went across the street to Culver's and had our meal within 5 minutes.

The service was terrible. I ordered a simple burger with ketchup and they brought out one with cheese sent it back and they gave me a plain burger. This isn't the first time this has happened every time I come here they mess up my order. I keep coming back that maybe it's just a bad day or they can't hear well in the drive through but it happens inside as well! I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you have a lot of patience and don't care how your food comes out! read more

Far better than McDonald's for burger and fries. Soup is enjoyable. Frozen drinks and ice creams products are excellent. Stay away from the walleye-- very poor product: greasy, nasty, fishy-smelling...inedible. Service is cordial and efficient. read more
