We were greeted warmly and our server was just the right amount of attentive. Before we settled in I checked out the art/black and white portraits on the wall behind a selfie station. We started with Buffalo wings. Requested extra crispy. All wings and no drums. Did not disappoint. For entrees I went beef and husband went pork. The meat was undercooked for my taste so I would not order this dish again. Husband gave the pork a good review. We both enjoyed the seasonal veggie side. The hasbrown-like potato side I tried was very well done. We hope this becomes a place we can return to year after year when we visit the Clear Lake area. read more

Local here who visited for the first time for a birthday dinner. This place was okay, not great. Catarino was not very attentive, even though the place had 2 other tables when we arrived. We were having to flag them down for requests. The Hawaiian Mac n Cheese was described as both "Mac n Cheese with Carrots" and 'Mac and Cheese with Pineapple" by two different staff... it was macaroni salad. We asked for a pasta spoon and some Ketchup and Catarino sighed loudly and seemed inconvenienced or annoyed by the request. The Sweet Potato Fries had cinnamon and sugar on them, which sweet + sweet = saccharine, so they were not a side dish as much as they should have been a dessert. We gave feedback to Catarino about our meal, but they argued with us instead of just accepting the feedback. We left a 30% tip on a sizable tab despite the meal and service... We won't be back. read more

I've been here a few times and I've always enjoyed it! I have always enjoyed their service and care for customers. This is for sure the perfect spot if you are around the area and want to try something new, yummy, and different. Great drink menu as well!! I would definitely recommend giving their guac or bruschetta a try! read more

What a joke 30 minutess after we ordered to get some sorry excuse of food I've ever seen. Service was horrid and they don't even have jelly/jam for Sunday brunch toast.. Not to be overlooked was the fact 2 eggs 2 strips of bacon was $14.. read more

Friendly service, retro atmosphere, local brew on tap, easy parking and most importantly, a great burger.

Next door to the historic Surf Ballroom, and the restaurant carries over the 50-60s music theme with nice photos and instruments displayed. Great place for lunch or dinner. We've stopped here a few times in the past two years. They have a new menu this summer, with several pastas, burgers, etc. Good food and service. read more

this place was clean, the staff was friendly, and the food was delicious. Not only was it delicious, it came it out very fast. The women's restroom was stocked with anything a girl could need and very clean. Highly recommend! read more

I did order my food over the phone and took it to go, but I am going to return and eat in person. This place just has the vibe. I had the Cheeseburger and fries and it was so amazing! The bun was toasted, the meat was well seasoned and juicy, the cheese melty and gooey. The meat was grilled and had those delicious crispy bits and edges. This tasted like a real good old fashioned burger that is so hard to find nowadays. The fries were seasoned and crispy and perfect. I ordered my food over the phone and the gentleman that answered was so nice and accommodating. The food was ready in a timely manner. I will be returning to dine in person. The location is great the interior was inviting and the outside seating looked amazing. There is a cool bar inside that I spotted and look forward to ordering some delicious drinks from there. read more

Menu has changed and not an improvement. Loved the old menu and staff. Will not be back. Used to love this place. So sad.....

My hubby loved the beef stir fry, and my veggie tacos were amazing. If you like cosmos, I'd highly recommend the cranberry! Will be back! read more

Went there for supper on a "girl's weekend" trip. Curtis, our server was informative, helpful, knowledgeable, and about the menu and drinks and just overall, a great person. Also, the food and drinks were great! We all ordered the jambalaya - just enough spice and very tasty. Bartender was good at his mixing. read more

I went here last night. It was a very fun atmosphere. It was a beautiful night and we could've eaten on the porch but decided to dine inside. Awesome selection of food and drinks. I had the baja chicken fajita quesadilla and my guest had the birria tacos. We also shared chips and queso. The food was hot and very very good. Birria tacos were extremely flavorful. Chicken in quesadilla was also amazing. Service was good and we have already talked about what to order next time we go. Looking forward to trying the fish tacos. Very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get too. Cool place. Good vibes. read more

This place misses the mark. How can we be unhappy when we are in Clear Lake? Service was fine - doesn't anyone drop a napkin for drinks anymore?! Atmosphere was fine. Food was terrible. My husband ordered a med-rare burger and it was a frozen overcooked patty with too much bun, my daughter's brussels sprouts were under cooked, my Caesar salad was serviceable but no crutons as advertised and there was too many tomatoes and chicken to the ratio of lettuce. Still tasty. Drinks were good but took forever. Would not recommend. Also TVs in the bar had a paused shot of "US Open Play is over" when the NBA Finals were actually on live TV. read more

Went for Sunday brunch buffet. Not many breakfast options in Clear Lake, but this would hold up well in any city. Price was reasonable, service was good, restaurant is very clean and modern. (Formerly Surf District, but much brighter/cleaner decor now). Many options from salad to breakfast items, chicken, fish, deserts. Everything everyone in our party of 9 was enjoyed. Any items running low were promptly refilled, even though the restaurant wasn't very crowded. Will definitely be back for brunch sometime, and will likely try the lunch/dinner menu sometime soon also. Same owners as Avion Azul at the airport. read more

5 of us stopped here on a Saturday afternoon around 1:00. Fewer than 10 people seated tables. We were seated and told Carlos will be waiting on us. A table of 3 were seated after us and ordered drinks and food from the waitress. Carlos was at the bar, saw us sitting there and continued to dink around behind the bar. He made eye contact with us numerous times but did not come over to our table. After waiting 10 minutes we got up to leave. Carlos walked towards us and said I was coming over. I said we shouldn't have to wait 10 minutes for drinks and lunch. No apologies. Carlos thinks he's too cool for school!! read more

The service was great. But, my food was the worst I have had in years. I ordered the cheddar burger with chips. The burger was way overcooked. The bun was dry. The chips were absolutely terrible. No seasoning at all. We will never go back. read more

We came here for dinner before a concert at Surf Ballroom. Great atmosphere, friendly people, and very quick service! The drinks were strong and tasty. We ordered the queso to start- sooo good! And for dinner I had the chicken bacon wrap and a side of garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious! Would definitely recommend this place! read more

Birria Eggrolls and cocktails were awesome! I'm very familiar with Clear Lake and Mason City - this is definitely one of the best restaurants in town. Great atmosphere, nice staff and good food. If anything, try the egg rolls read more

The absolute best new restaurant in Clear Lake la. Very hospitable and delicious food I've had in the last few years. Highly recommended. 5 stars by far!!!! Make it a priority to visit when in Clear Lake this summer. read more

Great atmosphere, service with a smile, close to the lake but no view. Drinks are great.

One of the best restaurants in the area! Unique drinks that are presented beautifully and amazing food!

This is my first ever negative review. Our brussel sprouts were brought to another table, left to cool and then repurposed to our table. The 17 dollar burger wasn't fit to serve at a fast food restaurant and was cold. as were the fries. Shrimp tacos were great and the porch is beautiful. In the name of good food however...avoid this place at all costs. I won't even be giving it a second chance. Horrendous. They should be embarrassed. Spent 175 bucks for a sub par meal. read more
