Or the kids can take home a starter ukulele in glittery blue or pink. The floors got a major upgrade and match warmly with the new blue walls! The have a waiting room for the kids providing siblings with chapter books, coloring pages, or pop-its. The kids love this spot! Finally the practice rooms look lovely and held a major upgrade too. I had a gig that weekend, so he offered to let me rent a beautiful brand new Kala uke to use while mine was in the shop. The part came sooner than expected, and when I picked her up, he had piled the wood and fret boards, replaced the strings, tightened the tuners and polished them, too! She looks and sounds even better than when I got her 9 years ago! Brandon has great pride and love for what he does, and it shows! I will definitely be coming back for any of my instrument needs!

Would not recommend John. His soldering is clean and his turnaround times are reasonable, but I…read moredon't believe he tests his work thoroughly enough. I drove an hour to John from my studio in LA to drop off a 1966 Princeton Reverb with some output issues, hissing, crackling, etc. A week later I received the invoice, paid, picked up the amp and took it home. The issue was not resolved. Took a video for proof. I drove the amp back to John and showed him the video, he apologized and said he would get it right this time, and wouldn't double down on labor costs. I thanked him for that, and dropped off the amp. Two weeks later I got a second invoice requesting additional payment. Confused and reluctant to pay a second fee, I still paid and picked up the amp. This time before driving back home to LA, I took the amp to the local guitar center to test it myself, and the issue STILL persisted after not even 10 minutes of play time. I took another video. Frustrated, I brought the amp back to John and showed him the video. He asked I leave the amp with him a third time. I explained that I do not feel confident in doing so, and I requested a refund on labor since I already paid two invoices for an issue that was never fixed. He was professional enough to agree, but I will not be returning to John or recommending him to any other musicians in my area.

He had it ready in two days. I'm the second owner of this amp and I doubt it has ever sounded this good. The noise floor is so low you can't hear it unless the volume is turned up to about 3/4 and even then it is very low. I highly recommend John for vintage amp repair and will use him for any future repairs I need.

I started taking West African Drumming (Djembe) lessons from David Hilal recently…read more I was nervous at first. I wondered how many people would be there and if I'd be out-of-place as a beginner. But, from the first day, David and my fellow students made me feel welcome. Even when I got pissy and frustrated during my second lesson, David helped me through it. David has a way of teaching that allows me to participate as a beginner while he assigns more complex rhythms to intermediate and advanced students. Some of us play Djembe while an advanced student accompanies us on dun duns. During the lesson, David will allow us to record specific rhythms or exercises he wants us to practice. When he gave us "hand over hand" exercises, my skill started to improve very quickly. It isn't totally easy, but it is TOTALLY FUN! RECOMMEND.
