This venue is small and tight!!! There are many seatings where your view might be blocked by large pillars!!! Shows are more affordable in price. We came to see Mike Birbiglia during memorial weekend and it was great! Love the close setting but be careful with seats due to pillars, you might not see much.

I saw Chris Gethard's Career Suicide show last night, and it was superb. While I originally thought it would be more comedic, I was happily surprised how heartfelt, genuine and trusting Chris's show was. His material was authentic without being preachy or watered down. He gave his audiences a glimpse into his life with the storytelling skills of a great orator. My best friend died 3 years ago in December, and I wish she had had a chance to see a show like this...because I think it would have made an impact, perhaps a difference in events. Bravo Chris Gethard and Judd Apatow.

Awesome Seats - Though every seat being a small intimate theater seemed to be a great view!

After standing for a few hours, I really regretted not getting a ticketed seat for myself. So in the future, I'm glad that I have that option. Once you enter The Shed, you take the escalator upstairs to get to the concert hall. At the end of the concert, the doors open and lead you out right next to The Vessel so I thought that was a nice visual perk at the end of the concert. I hope I get a chance to come back and get to walk around the place and see a little bit more of it.

Located in Hudson Yards, it's near the Vessel and other attractions unique to this developed area. Now showing--This World of Tomorrow with Tom Hanks. Theater review: seating was 3 escalator flights up where most seats were good ones. Comfortable folding style chairs with the theater exhibiting good lighting and audio. There was a mobile bar during intermission that offered wine, water and soda for purchase. I didn't see any merchandise for sale. Production review: When I learned Tom Hanks would be performing Off Broadway in "This World of Tomorrow", I was eager to get tickets. Although the production is Off Broadway, the prices were definitely Broadway and no surprise there with headliner Tom Hanks--one of my top favorite actors of all time--in the starring role. The play takes place in the year 2089 and is all about time travel with Hanks' character--Bert--traveling back to 1939 during New York's World Fair. Without giving anything away, the storyline explores themes on falling in love, technology and what makes life meaningful. We really enjoyed the production which runs through December 21. Overall, it received positive reviews. Some were mixed and in my opinion, I thought the play should have been shaved down by 20 -30 minutes (it was 2 hours + 15 min with intermission). As a Tom Hanks fan, it was truly a delightful treat on a holiday weekend.

I really was so warmly welcomed here and they were eager to help answer any questions and just engage with some of the key points. So many charming things used to learn today. From mastodons of which you can enjoy seeing a 10-foot-tall mastodon sculpture : a woolly mammoth-looking creature which once roamed the hills of Staten Island in prehistoric days. Learn about the industries that thrived in this area for example, their chewing gum factory, the terra-cotta factory & ceramic factory. Such wonderful things created for people to enjoy, however, the Freshkills area and then to see all the years and years worth of efforts made to clean up the area and make it safe and beautiful and a wonderful habitat once again. It was nice to see that it's treated as a beautiful treasure. Grateful to the women who lead the groups that were very persistent in this endeavor. I loved seeing the erasure poetry activity.. where are we made poetry by blocking out the letters that were the writings of the museum's kind founder William T. Davis. Reconstructing his writing.. it's a wonderful little game that takes you slowly into his thoughts and his love and reflections of his town. I'm happy to learn about the founder of this museum and how he took care of all the sailors by constructing these buildings and giving them a home after a lifetime of working hard on the ships Very thankful for all the hard-working people that keep this wonderful story alive and in the minds of everyone lucky enough to venture this way.

You can get through most of the garden in under an hour and a half. They are known for the Chinese Garden which is breathtaking and costs just $5 to explore. The exhibit shares great history and really makes you feel like you're in a different world. There is a cafe with outdoor seating where you can grab a small bite and there's also a few adorable cottages and one of them is converted into an ice cream shop with benches outside. They also had a dance festival which was fun to watch. This was the perfect place to spend a summer day!

I enjoyed my visit, but I think it's important to note that this is less a museum than a cultural center. So it has a great cafe (Bjork Cafe & Bistro), a great gift shop (I picked up a modern take on the Dala horse), and a small gallery space (when we visited, the exhibit was "Nordic Echoes - Tradition in Contemporary Art"), which is free to visit. But it also hosts events - concerts, lectures, workshops, etc. So if you're looking for a quick visit, stop by for a quick visit to the gallery, the gift shop, and the cafe for drink, snack, or meal. But if you're interested in Scandinavian culture, check out this website for interesting events to attend!

Walking in, I must've looked visibly confused because the woman at the window called me over to describe the venue. I ended up perusing the first floor with its Nordic goods and picked up some Swedish candy, a few cookies and a macchiato for o go. There is a sit down cafe with Scandinavian fare, and art and movies to explore. Well worth a visit if you'd like something unique!

From outside you can see the Morgan home building- one of the remaining Gilded Age mansions. The atrium entrance is beautiful with lots of natural light and soaring ceilings. A coat check and cafe are located in the atrium entrance. Bathrooms are on the lower level. The cafe has wine, charcuterie and other snacks. Musicians play in the atrium. It is a very fun atmosphere. The library in comparison is small. Two levels of books line the walls. JP Morgan's desk and chairs are on display. Several books including the Gutenberg Bible are displayed in glass cases. The room also has a huge fireplace. The museum also has changing exhibits. We saw a cool exhibit on the Book of Psalms and another on Renoir's drawings. Both were interesting! Walking to the gift shop, you can see the foyer entrance to the Morgan house. The house is not open to the public. The gift shop had some unique items as well as typical gift shop items. She also became, for a time, the highest paid woman in America. The Library and Museum entry fee is a bit expensive for those less familiar with this story, or frankly, those hoping for either a full and circulating library like the nearby NY Public Library (with its iconic lions) or a massive museum like several throughout NYC. That said, this place is a delight for folks like me who are interested in the history and lives of the Gilded Age robber barons in the City. The Library is housed in JP's mansion, with only the gorgeous rotunda at the original entrance, and the rooms that house the Library open to the public. While much of the library collection is in inaccessible to visitors and stored in stunning shelves and cases behind glass, many of the jewels Morgan acquired are on view for a closer look. Also on view on the main level are several sculptures, important musical scores (some acquired after Morgan's death - the Museum trustees use that high entry fee for acquisitions and preservation), small but important items from the ancient world, and a gorgeously decorated massive fireplace. The building expansion houses traveling and temporary art installations, many of which are consistent with Morgan's tastes in collecting. There's a lovely café behind the current first floor entry space, and a room with (generally) more contemporary artists being exhibited. Special exhibits are mostly upstairs and often include works with a religious theme (Bibles and psalters from many religious traditions and in many languages; a Caravaggio, Bellini and Perugino show; and other kinds of things like Renoir's drawings; music-themed exhibits; and one on story-telling through the centuries. The wonderful gift shop is also on the upper floor. We loved touring the Library and Museum, but for those who aren't sure yet, stop by on Friday for 5-8pm, when admission is free. You may even find yourself willing to visit a second time!
