A professional business should not have to do something like that, she also told me that there were no such thing as a salt, free purifier and softener there was a reverse osmosis that some cases can work in general. It left a bad taste in my mouth. I would not refer this business. The product might be good but the people selling it or not.

I was lucky enough to know the owner's parents, and his Dad took me under his wing, and they insisted on me being nothing short of "Excellent". This is a business that cares, and they are understanding of people's needs, and their financial capabilities. I was always taught to excel, and learn . Being raised also to be your best, I got certified in being a Water Quality Association Certified Specialist, a Certified Salesman, and was a very efficient Installer. My call back record was like next to less than 2 % of every repair, install, service or troubleshooting call I performed. That was the type of knowledge and thoroughness that was expected, and I went on to learn in other areas of water, when i moved to other areas, such as Water well Drilling, Pump Service, Plumbing , Heating, Waste Water, and Appliances.- But my journey started and I built my foundation thanks to the Grandeau family, who treated me like their own. I can honestly say , 35 years later, that this company was the place that gave me the knowledge, the ability, the confidence, and a career in the Water Industry, and I remember many nights spent out at affilate groups, like the Orange County Association of realtors , and going to large functions to show the public who we were, and to invest our time in our community. I know that is who they are. I often think about Barry, and Pearl, who were Stephen's parents, and at one time, during my employment years, were involved in the business in their Southern Hudson Valley area. I learned to be confident team player, and to put the customer first. We were bound to ethical principles that I still adhere to today. I was welcome in Stephen's parent's home, and continued my relationship for most of the rest of their lives. I often would pick up a Professional Water Treatment Periodical at any stage of my own career, and see a showcase story on the amazing Education and Business Respect of Stephen Grandeau, who educated himself way beyond his usual scope of practice, so I bet if you would like to make Computer chips in your basement in your spare time, and need Dionized or water that leaves not a single micrometer of residue, water and Cooling tower treatment, he could even do that. You won't need that, but he could do that for you. Realistically, call Stephen up at AquaScience in Clifton Park, NY, and ask him how a water softener works. I promise you'll get a scientific lesson in Cation Exchange resin, water flow rates, and what most major brands of softener valves are capable of performing, and in what specific treatment needs . I guarantee you'll get taught information you'd need $850 a credit and acceptance to College to obtain. You'll probably make it to about the second minute when you decide that you only need to know that HE knows. You'll get much of the same from his employees, and I know because- I got my knowledge of Water Treatment there, and had customers tell ME I could stop my lesson in say , how chlorine has only 7 electrons in the outer ring, making it a great oxidizer, always looking to take on another electron.... LOL. See if you find THAT at a big box store, or I challenge you to show me ANY Big box store systems that last like the ones sold at Aquascience. I've pulled systems 35 years old, still working.. \ I think my point has been made. You can trust this business for your needs , whether you are in the Clifton park customer area, or in the Lower Hudson valley, where Laurie and Brian have worked for decades also. :-) Tim Kelly- Wappingers Falls, NY

After they installed the drinking water purifier in the basement, the fitting blew and flooded the bar area with water. The owner came to my house to inspect what happened and acknowledged that it was installed incorrectly and it was their fault. He said he would do the right thing and pay for the damage to the one cabinet and moldings. The cost to fix/replace the damaged areas was less than $1000 but when time came for the owner to do the right thing, he stopped responding to my texts and stopped returning my phone calls. After giving this company so much business and then having them handle this situation so poorly/unprofessionally/disrespectfully, I would never be able to recommend them to anyone. I was a great customer who spent thousands of dollars over the course of 2 years and unfortunately, their handling of this matter tells me everything I need to know about them.

I will start by saying James Leckonby has no moral integrity. I gave James 2 stars because he does…read moreknow how to put pipes together. However! I would not recommend James for any work beyond simple plumbing. Let me explain. Prior to Christmas, 2024 the water coil in our furnace burst shortly after having the furnace serviced (James did not do the service) , leaving our home without hot water and heat. We started seeking recommendations. An acquaintance of ours said he knew James and gave us James' phone number. I called and spoke with James. James came to our home, assessed the situation, and recommended a combi unit. Combi: meaning a combination of heat and hot water. James said he was familiar with combi's and had installed them for others. James prepared a quote to remove the old furnace and install a replacement. My wife and I thought the quote was too high ($12,000), but we felt having no heat or hot water and the fact that it was Christmas and with the weather below freezing we had no choice but to accept. We were afraid not starting the work immediately would cause our pipes to freeze. We signed the work agreement 12/19/2024. James hired two workers to remove the old furnace. Due to the old furnaces weight (cast iron) they decided to break it apart in the basement. In doing so, they left residue on the floor and the steps leading outside that will not cleanup with regular cleaning products. The floor and steps are now covered with cardboard. James installed the combi unit, but could not get it to run. James spent hour after hour trying to get the combi to fire up. Christmas came and went. We had no hot water or heat since mid -December. Due to the cold we were forced to purchase portable heaters to keep the pipes from freezing. On 12/27/24 we called National Grid and asked if they would check their gas feed. A service tech came and verified National Grids gas line was okay. The tech then asked James to check the gas valve in the basement that James installed. When James disconnected the gas line we found the valve was clogged with pipe dope. After removing the pipe dope and reassembling the gas line the combi was able to fire up. Forward , to spring 2025. The combi unit started to get occasional combustion errors. At the time National Grid had been working on the gas lines in the neighborhood. For that reason we considered their gas line work was causing air in the lines, thus the combustion errors. After National Grid completed the gas line work in September the occasional combustion errors continued. It was early October 1 when I contacted James Leckonby to let him know that the the combi was getting occasional combustion 003 errors. I told James they were occasional and we were able to reset the error code when necessary. I said he didn't have to rush over, but that I would like him to check it out in the next few weeks. We had an agreement. On October 16 I called James to let him know that the combi was getting 003 errors constantly and that we had no heat. James became a no show. He would make up excuses why he wasn't available. One time (October 30) telling me , "You"re not my only customer". Finally November 3 James shows up after 8:00p.m. The same time when the combi manufacturers Help Center closed for the day. It was quite obvious James had no idea how to trouble shoot or program the combi. At one point he disconnected a part without first shutting the water off and draining the unit, which resulted in water gushing all over. Well! That night was a bust, but James promised to return early the next day so he would be able to use the manufacturers Help Center. We had previously informed James that my wife had emergency surgery the week before and that I was going to have hip replacement surgery November 7. Therefore, we would not be able to continue to run down the basement to reset the combi. Here we are. As of this writing November 28, James has not returned, has not called and has not responded to text messages.
