We happened to be here the first time on a Sunday, which is the evening when they have an open mic night of sorts - what a delight! There was a continuous stream of local fanfare and traditional Irish music playing for hours on end. We didn't want to leave after our meal so we stayed on in the lounge area up front next to the musicians to enjoy the scene up close and personal. The food was phenomenal - a bit on the pricey end but of the highest quality imaginable. We loved every bite from the soups to the salad, to the seafood. I'm so glad we were able to enjoy this restaurant a couple of times while we were staying in the area. It really is the best food around here! And the folks who work here and run the place were really friendly - Ireland is already one of the most hospitable places I've ever been to but this place really does well by its patrons, too!

I found it to have very thoughtful touches like that, the special room & playground equipment - I also heard staff tell a patron that the kids get a toy to keep with their meal. I didn't view the kids menu, tho I heard a parent talking about some options with her child, including fish & every child's favorite fun food "spaghetti"! Adults were not forgotten- there were candles on the table and nicely plated meals and home-style options, with a lovely selection of wine and beet to choose from. It certainly helped that the weather was perfect, encouraging us to eat outdoors so we could look out at the water. This place is hard to miss from the road, as the owner created a memorial for the Irish who sailed from the shores, never to return. This will be a "must visit" stop for us next time we return to Ireland (and there will be a next time!)

My wife who did all of the travel bookings is an old movie buff and put Cong on our travel itinerary. It was about 3:30 p.m. when we arrived in Cong after our morning visit to the Cliffs Of Moher. We had not eaten since breakfast and quickly made the short two block walk to Pat Cohans. We ordered the double burger with fries and a side order of onion rings. It was all good. Best onion rings I've had in a long, long time. The burgers were excellent. A few of you will pick up on this this statement, "where's the beef", well it was on our burgers. The beef patties were nice and thick. Great burgers! We had a nice late lunch, early dinner.
