In the dive industry, you tend to come across two types of Dive Shop / Boat operators: those who make you feel like they're doing you a favor taking you on a dive, and those who truly make you feel welcome and provide a world-class experience. Trevor and Heather at Culebra Divers are very much the latter. I came to Culebra for a long-overdue dive trip. I've spent a week here diving with Culebra Divers as well as doing several continuing education classes (Rescue Diver, DAN's DEMP courses). From my first interaction with Heather when booking the trip several months ago, to the endless string of emails I sent them preparing for the trip, to every dive and every class while here... Trevor and Heather have been consummate professionals and have truly made this trip one that I'll remember for a lifetime. Every dive has left me excited and every course has left me more confident as a diver. Beyond the professionalism at the shop, I've been truly impressed with the level of safety and attention to detail that Trevor and Heather put into everything they do. Their focus on guest and diver safety is at the forefront of everything they do. They're also taking great care to make your dive experience safe in the age of COVID, with extra precautions from the time you enter the shop to the time you splash in the water... and they do so without affecting the quality of the experience. We've been returning to Culebra for years to dive with Culebra Divers. They're unerringly professional, serious about safety, but always personal and fun to spend time with on the boat. They have the unique ability to adapt to the needs of both experienced and beginner divers in a way that gives both a great experience. My wife did her PADI checkout dives with them, and Trevor ran things so smoothly that I think it played a role in her learning to love diving. They do regular refreshes of their equipment, and I've never had any issues or concerns renting my gear from them. I can't recommend them highly enough. I've been diving for 25 years, and I know how a bad dive operator can ruin a trip. I literally can't point to a bad diving day I've had with Culebra Divers. They're the best. read more

Culebra Divers is a lovely family run dive shop. Heather and Trevor are welcoming and really well organized making the whole experience seamless and comfortable. My husband and I both rented gear (Reg and BCDs) and it was some of the best rented equipment we both ever used. I loved that they provide complimentary photos of your dives each day (including dive location summaries) and go out of their way to make sure they capture at least one photo of you. It's clear that Trevor has a great understanding of the reefs around Culebra and does a great job at finding the best option for the divers each day. The retail portion of the shop is also very well stocked, with diverse products for divers and non-divers alike. My only tip, which is also broadcasted on their website, is to book early! The boat can only take 6 divers at a time and can fill up quick. Hope to return to Culebra and dive with this crew again! read more

Top notch dive shop. My daughter and I planned on dive while we are in Culebra not knowing what to expect. Unfortunately my daughter got sick so I went sole with 3 other divers. We had two dive masters guiding us through very colorful reefs and tons of fishes. Both dives were shallow but enjoyed both dives. Very professional, detailed, and friendly. We did 2 dive trips - day one was the morning 2-dive trip, and day 2 was the afternoon single dive trip. I am an experienced diver, but my wife and 14 year-old daughter are newly certified. All three of us had an amazing experience. Both my wife and daughter uses the shops gear which was impeccable and high quality ScubaPro. Included with the kit was a dive computer. I was very excited for my first Caribbean dive. Our dive leaders were great. Very kind and supportive. The owner/wife of the lead diver was not friendly and rude to all of us on our dive. It definitely set a damper on the trip. Unfortunately the dive was underwhelming. I emailed them twice to tell them things I was hoping to see our dive, realistic things such as a drop off. I'd recently purchased a new BCD, regulator and kit, and was really excited to give it a good workout in Culebra after a super positive test run in the neighborhood pool. I won't go into the details, but Trevor tweaked my gear just a tad bit to ensure all is perfectly in sync with me. He's kind, aware and pays close attention to divers' needs. We dove with our family (all older) with varying levels of experience. Culebra Divers made it so easy and fun for all. Heather and Trevor got your gear all set for you and brought it to you only just before getting in the water. They were very experienced and pointed out lots of cool things underwater. This shop is run by really honest people who give fantastic service. The dive master Trevor is great at pointing out everything from lobsters to nudibranchs. He also takes photos on his own camera and emails them to the group afterward, which is a really nice bonus that I wish more shops offered. They also rent out snorkeling gear and will give you a map showing exactly where to swim for the best snorkeling on the island. Culebra's Melones Beach is one of the only places I've been where the snorkeling is legitimately almost as good as the diving, so make sure to snorkel Melones too while you are there, and definitely use Culebra Divers for both your diving and your snorkeling needs! read more

Went to Culebra Divers looking for a hat to avoid further sunburn. My daughter went in to buy souvenirs for her kids. Heather was very helpful and easy to talk to while helping us. This may not be the first place you choose for souvenirs, but since they also conduct dive/snorkeling tours they have the most reliable hours. Other stores in Culebra are hit or miss. Recommend you go there first to see if you find what you want and have a chat with Heather. read more

This dive shop is great! Trevor and his wife Heather are the owners and they are so friendly. We took a boat this morning and my group had three people we had the whole boat to ourselves. They were going to take me out even if I went alone. John, dive master, took my girlfriend and her friend snorkeling. My girlfriend is nervous in the ocean and he made her feel right at home. Great little shop for snorkeling gear and other sea necessities. i walked in without any reservation and rented a fine snorkel kit for a week within ten minutes. so easy. equipment worked fine and i was able to spend most of my days snorkeling--and it's really good on culebra and nearby islands. it was exactly what i wanted and needed and i was in heaven. i was a day late returning my gear bc i was using it so much and when i tried to pay extra the lovely woman at the shop (maybe the owner?) told me not to worry about it. really sweet! highly recommend if you plan to snorkel or need any accessories to make your sea vacation more wonderful. i cant wait to go back! read more

We are on Culebra for a couple of weeks and brought our own snorkel gear. started having problems with my wife's full face mask fogging. I ran in one morning and grabbed the cheapest fog off on the shelf and left. It did not work on either my wife's plastic or my glass mask. We went back in with the mask to ask for advice. Heather was great. she fitted my wife and we ended up purchasing a new mask (glass) for my wife, which she loves. she also gave us credit for the anti fog i had purchased the previous day. I did not expect or even ask for that. Great customer service. Thank you Heather. We are leaving tomorrow and the new mask and anti fog agent has worked great (on both our glass masks). I did not try it on the full face masks yet to see if it resolved the fog problem on them. read more

Today's dive with Todd was fantastic. Todd took care to make sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable, including wetsuits. Our dives were long and we saw a lot. Shrimp, eels, 2 sharks, 2 octopus, stingray and of course beautiful coral and anemone. Todd always pointed out the fun stuff and knew exactly where to look. Perfect dives. read more

Really disappointed with culebra divers. We made reservations with culebra divers for 5 people well in advance (at least 15 days before our trip). On the scheduled date we were waiting in fajardo ferry terminal as the ferry to culebra was running late so we decided to call culebra divers to let them know about the situation. Person on the phone said that our trip has been canceled due to bad weather as its raining heavily and they are not making any scuba trips. I checked weather right away and found that it hasnt rained in culebra since last 5 hours and there was no forecast for any more rain. So we called them again and answer was the same. They never called us to inform that the trip has been canceled. Ferry ride to culebra from fajardo is almost 2 hours in really rough sea, we would have lost all the time in going to culebra and coming back from there without getting to do scuba. Luckily we were able to make last minute reservations with aquatic adventure which worked out for the best (see my review for acquatic adventures). I was still not convinced with culebra divers response so decided to call them myself (so far my wife was interacting with them), and told them I would like to schedule a trip for scuba for today and to my surprise (or may be i expected it) they were able to schedule me for stand-by. Now if they were not making any trips, how can the schedule me on stand-by ? All we can think is they either sold our spot to someone else (as ferry was running late and they thought we may not show up, in which case they should still call and check with us or when we called tell us the truth) or they had overbooked for that day and canceled us for not calling earlier (we called them at 9:00am (as soon as we found that ferry is running late) when the scuba trip was planned for 2:00 pm. Although they look really good on paper (and through their website) I would never give them another chance and would recommend staying away from them. read more

I thought these guys were awesome. Very friendly American group that does dives around the island. They're on a lagoon so you suit up and get on the boat literally in their back patio. Travis took me on two great dives and took the time to move around a couple times to find a great dive spot. Very reasonable rates and they're great with beginners like me. (I think this is the correct store, its the one by the ferry terminal in culebra...) I had a somewhat trivial issue that left a sour taste in my mouth here, we received 3 snorkel rentals and when we got to the beach we found that one was damaged (quite severely!). When we got back to the store i asked for a refund but instead was accused of damaging the rental (it was claimed that i ran over it with my car!). It left a sour taste in my mouth. Please check your gear before walking out of the store! They put it in a mesh bag so you have to take it out first. read more
