I recommend wearing water shoes as you'll have to walk through thigh deep water to get to the kayak. You want to plan your trip as close to a new moon as possible as you want to eliminate as much light as possible to really see the glow. Annoyingly there is a neighborhood above the lagoon with bright spotlights but facing the water way and lingering near the other side of the lagoon the bioluminescence is still very visible and a total blast. The guides even brought us a tiny jellyfish to observe and see how it glowed as it wiggled in our hands. I wouldn't even bother bringing your phone, I highly doubt you'd be able to capture the glow while holding still enough in a kayak. Navigating the mangroves was tricky because the guides blue lights were just bright enough the destroy our night vision and not see the low hanging branches. I would hope in the future that the guides would switch to red lights to make navigating in the low light easier.

You arrive a check in at a roadside building, where you can use the restroom before going out to the dock and pier, which is just a short drive away. You follow the guide's car in your car to the parking lot and it was no problem. From there, we got on the boat, which was two decks and fairly spacious. We set out on a 45 minute ride to a beach that was deserted and gorgeous. We swam and did some snorkeling there for about an hour before moving to a different spot just down the way for some real snorkeling. The marine life was much more abundant here and we saw sting rays, turtles, and a bevy of fish. On the way back, we got a wrap that we had pre-selected back at check-in and unlimited drinks, both alcoholic and non.

We charted a private boat for my brother in law's 40th birthday for a group of 6. We couldn't have had better captains. Sergio and Edgardo were FANTASTIC! So much fun was had, and they worked hard to make sure that we didn't lift a finger. They had food and drinks flowing. They made us excited to come back to PR. And they shared a lot of great hidden gems for us to check out for the remainder of our stay. We will definitely be booking with them again in the future! She had been incredibly responsive leading up to the trip, but once it was over, I never heard back. I followed up multiple times over two weeks and got nothing. Would have been a 5-star review if they had just handled the refund. The tour was that good. But going silent on a customer who's owed money isn't okay.

So on the day we arrived he was prepping the boat and in 15 mins we were off. Once he drove us to the location he waited very patiently while we performed a quick service before sending mom off. After we returned me and my sister were so happy that my mothers last wishes were fulfilled. We couldn't have done it without Rey. When we return I will definitely come back and use his services, the guy was a true professional and very respectful. Again there are other companies , but Rey met and exceeded our expectations. Rest assured when you call this number is goes directly to the owner whose name is Luis. Luis is amazing and awesome family guy. His entire business is ran by himself, wife, and 3 sons. He drives the boat's, wife drives the vans with her son's. And if you really want to experience the nightlife and local off the beat places offer the eldest son some additional money for his time and he will take to all the best places in OSJ and PR in his crappy car (he also owns a brand new Toyota, but the problem is there is a huge problem of theft in PR so his Toyota which isn't considered a luxury car here on the mainland is considered a high theft car in PR). We bought the $75 package and it was worth it. I would have paid much more for the service he provided. WHY? Well to get to Culebra or Viques you have to take a Ferry ($5 ticket) or fly private. You can buy tickets online but you have the danger of them being refunded VERY LAST MINUTE (this happened to us twice) and you're out of luck. I had no idea what I was going to do since I had planned all this scuba diving and snorkeling for my girlfriend's birthday and the only way to get tickets is to go there and stand in a VERY LONG LINE at 5AM! I called Luis and they send someone to do this for you. Then he sends you a text with a picture that he has them. When you get to Culebra finally you have to walk to the best restaurant on the water I have ever experienced (MAMACITAS review coming soon). It's pink building and doesn't look like much in the front. Then you go to the back! OMG! Tiki bar, clear blue water, boats drive up, awesome food and drinks....PARADISE! This is where you get picked up from and he takes to heaven. We requested a private beach, and he also took us to a deserted restaurant in the middle of the ocean. It was truly very inspirational! He lets you take beer with you and also takes you to a grocery store along the way to get beer, food, and anything else you need. The boat just pulls up and you jump off, do some shopping and jump back in. Luis and his family hands down give you that personal touch!

I had so much fun, can't wait to go snorkeling with them again!…read more The Captain and his men Scott and Herbert were super friendly group of guys that gave special attention to everyone on board. They gave us instructions for snorkeling, and helped everyone to securely fasten their gear. We stopped at three spots for snorkeling. The first one were very close to Icacos Island, which was deliberately in a shallow area, so first time snorkelers like me can get some practice before going into deeper waters. The other two spots we stopped were in the middle of the ocean, among the reefs and vast expanse of the Caribbean Sea. Herbert, an experienced diver that guided our tour, dove down and flipped lots of rocks and caught little star fish, urchins, shrimps, crabs and other interesting creatures for us to see. It was amazing, and something I couldn't have done if I were on my own. Snorkeling is such an easy sport, even though I've only swan in water parks before, I find it easy to swim the sea with no problem. Lunch was prepared by them, with cold cuts, cheese and sandwich bread. I'm not a fan of these type of food, but I didn't expect hand pulled noodles in the middle of the sea either. Food was not the point of this trip anyway. If you don't like these food, you can always bring snacks and just put them in the cabin downstairs. In the end, we sailed by this small piece of land and saw iguanas climbing up the trees. It was really nice. I learned about this tour rather late, so I didn't meet the book online window (at least 12 hours ahead), had to call in and make reservation. I would recommend everyone taking advantage of their online booking system, it is real-time and you get $10 off.

As long as 15 people are on the tour, they will take you to your Calebra. If less than 15 you stay local! There were well over 15 so we were able to tour Calebra. It was so beautiful! Once you get there, they pick you up on a ferry to take you to the boat . The boat travels for about an hour before getting to a private island and that is where you get the guided snorkeling or diving tour depending on what you selected! My friends and I did the snorkeling. As someone who can't swim (I know I know lol) I had a great time. The tour guides were very informative and helpful for all ages and swim levels. They do provide fruit, cold cut sandwiches and rum punch and when you stop . If you're looking for a "party" boat then this may not be for you. Don't expect lots of liquor and twerking etc it's a family type tour, Some of my friends were a bit disappointed by the price expecting that we'd stop somewhere that had a bar and restaurant but it was just a private island (we're in our high 20s low 30s). So idk I think it depends on your expectations but I was okay with everything and the service was great!

We were told we had to first buy and complete the course work through PADI and from There they would do the water/ dive sessions and compete the certification. The shop also gets a kick back from Padi as work since it makes u select a dive shop where ur course work is sent to. Once we complete the course work, we each reached out to the dive shop about 2 - 1 1/2 weeks in advance to schedule the dates and times for the water sessions. We did not receive any type of response back from the shop. We attempted to message on whatsup as requested but still did not receive a confirmation or any type of communication. We called down to the shop, where we were told to just text them. We again tried to text the shop but did not receive any response. We flew to San Juan and arrived and immediately went to the shop, we were told to text them and they would get back to us.. we asked directly if they had availability and we were told they would check and get back to us via text.... A day goes by, we attempt to call and no response.. fully we get a text saying they are fully committed...... This was without doubt the worst type of un-reliable customer service and a refusal to communicate.. I would not trust this dive shop or operation. They should never have told us to use to do the course work with their shop and then refuse to complete our certification. Luckily Scuba Dogs next door came to our rescue when we told them about the horrible customer service we received. Just be aware this shop will not be reliable.

Trevor and Heather at Culebra Divers are very much the latter. I came to Culebra for a long-overdue dive trip. I've spent a week here diving with Culebra Divers as well as doing several continuing education classes (Rescue Diver, DAN's DEMP courses). From my first interaction with Heather when booking the trip several months ago, to the endless string of emails I sent them preparing for the trip, to every dive and every class while here... Trevor and Heather have been consummate professionals and have truly made this trip one that I'll remember for a lifetime. Every dive has left me excited and every course has left me more confident as a diver. Beyond the professionalism at the shop, I've been truly impressed with the level of safety and attention to detail that Trevor and Heather put into everything they do. Their focus on guest and diver safety is at the forefront of everything they do. They're also taking great care to make your dive experience safe in the age of COVID, with extra precautions from the time you enter the shop to the time you splash in the water... and they do so without affecting the quality of the experience.
