My wife dropped off her 2023 CR-V for what she believed to be a routine 30,000 service appointment (Oil Change...) She was told she needed a recommended Transmission Oil change which she agreed to. I called the Service Manager (Kalif Fazil) who confirmed that this was a Honda Recommendation. Since the Honda Owners Manual does not list a Maintenance Schedule I had to trust the Service manager but decided to "Trust and Verify". I called a Honda Dealer in McAllen and another in Brownsville inquiring on routine service maintenance for a 2023 CR-V with 30,000 miles and neither mentioned a "recommended transmission oil change". I also called the 800 Honda number and was told the same thing. They also referred me to MyGarage.Honda.Com and discovered that: "Driving in mountainous areas at very low vehicle speeds results in higher transmission temperatures. This requires transmission fluid changes more frequently than recommended by the Maintenance Minder. If you regularly drive your vehicle under these conditions, have the transmission fluid changed every 25,000 miles (40,000 km)." From the get go, Carlos made it very clear that transparency was his #1 priority and delivered it every step of the way. He was eager to help and made the whole process feel so relaxed. When I initially didn't find any cars that fit my preference, Carlos offered to bring in some from other locations that did, without any pressure to commit. What really impressed me was how much he advocated for me, coordinating with his team to work out the best deals like securing a lower car note and pushing for a zero down payment. He was even able to find affordable insurance for me! On top of that, he was super responsive, keeping me updated and addressed any concerns I had. You were really able to see how much he cares about his clients. He definitely made the entire experience feel like I had a friend helping out rather than just a salesman. And to complete my dream team, Carlos introduced me to Stephanie in finance. She was an absolute gem. She broke everything down so clearly, from understanding the pricing, payments, and optional coverage. Considering all of that was unfamiliar territory, she did a great job at making sure I never got lost in the process. She was extremely considerate when it came to finding me coverage that still fit within my budget. On top of that she shared a few tips that would help in the long run. All her help was a huge weight off my shoulders. I'm really grateful she was able to help me secure that safety net without stretching my wallet too thin. Between Carlos and Stephanie, I couldn't have asked for a better team to work with. So whether you're also a first time buyer or just looking for a great deal, these are the people you want by your side. I've already recommended them to several friends and will continue to do so. They truly made this experience stress free and memorable. A big thank you again to both of them! :)
