I've been here a few times and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Polanco. The food is always delicious. The service is always on point. The wine list is expansive and pretty reasonably priced. And unlike other restaurants in the neighborhood, you can actually hear the person sitting next to you without the music blasting. My favorites are tuna tuna sashimi and the grilled octopus.

Hopping and trendy restaurant in Polanco. Pros: Great food, good service Cons: very loud on the patio and mixed drinks were just so-so Food: Food was very good. Had some ribeye tacos with bone marrow- fantastic! Pork chop was excellent, tender, moist, and flavorful. Drinks: mixed drinks were just so-so. Interesting sounding, but lacking execution. Specifically, the drinks are watered down with a ton of crushed ice and a little too sweet. Service: good service Ambiance: Cuerno has a split personality- inside the main restaurant is quieter and grown up. On the patio is loud with blaring pop music. Don't expect intimate conversation on the patio. Overall cleanliness: above average Bathroom cleanliness: above average

I agree with the other yelper. located in polanco and under the recommendation of google, we made our way for our final meal of our cdmx trip. the food did not match the swanky decor and atmosphere of the place. although it seems like a high end steakhouse (they have a certificate for wagyu steaks), the best part of this place was there complimentary crispy tortillas and salsas. beef soup was thick but was probably one of the better dishes i had there. not overly salty like everything else. like way, way salty or overly sauced. the truffle fries didn't taste of truffles at all. the salad was drenched in dressing and was not tasty or refreshing as one might expect of a salad. the chicken i ordered was moist, but was braised too much and was too salty. we didn't finish most of our plates. I recommend only getting drinks at this restaurant. skip the plates or meal here.

I'm hoping our mediocre experience was due to our large party. Took forever to get drinks, some had two drinks before some of us had one. Steaks were cold and overcooked. Just overall meh experience. This was recommend by friends who'd recently visited and said it was their best meal, so I have to think our experience was a fluke.

I was stuffed after this meal! The location is a really elegant vibe, it's perfect for a date night. Though, I do think that the tables are a bit too wide for comfortable conversation. The waiters are VERY attentive. I found that throughout CDMX as well, best service I've had. Our meal started with some crispy tortillas of some sort and a variety of sauces - least to most spicy. Our drinks were excellent, I got a mezcally drink and my partner got their piña colada adjacent bev. My steak was perfect, and was served with a whole head of garlic. Idk if I was meant to, but I ate that whole thing. Spreading the roasted goodness on my steak like butter . I got their truffle mashed potatoes on the side. Frankly I could've done without them. I didn't love the texture and the steak alone would've filled me up. My partner ordered the octopus after we saw some pics from other Yelp-ers. I'm not a seafood girly, but he said it was amazing. He calls this the best meal of our relationship lol. For dessert we got this layered cake because we saw everyone else get these huge sparkling candles with it! Ours didn't have it which was sad. I also put that we were celebrating our anniversary on the reservation and typically restaurants will do something special, but they didn't (def surprised me). The cake itself tasted like frosted flakes cereal in a good way though. I'd recommend coming just because the quality you get for the price here vs in the US makes it so worth. I paid ~$100 for two including drinks and dessert.

really cool atmosphere inside and out. its very fancy and fun experience wise. the bathrooms were super cool. we tried a variety of things: beef carpacio, meat soup, beet salad, street tacos, steak quesadillas, skirt steak, and the caramel pastry cake. everything we tried was delicious!!

Wow what can I say.... reservation was originally for Rosa Negra but they were closed (even with a reservation made? - weird) chose this place as it was across the street and had good reviews and steak :P the attention to detail and service was amazing!! the view . we chose to sit outside as they have an open concept with bistro lighting and light music in the background. our server/server attendant were Jonathan and Julio! There was a wine sommelier who passed by as well, and management to check up on us and roam the floors. Food itself was SOOO DELICIOUS! every course... I will recommend 100% come check them out !!

If only the food and service was as STUNNING as the restaurant and ambiance itself. We were truly wowed by the dark & sexy design of the restaurant and the live house music DJ playing tunes...but shortly after be seated the vibe suddenly went downhill with us. I speak Spanish and I was doing my best to communicate with the waitstaff but it felt they were impatient or irritated with our small party. Without even giving us menus they immediately suggested 2 cocktails and didn't ask what kinds of cocktails we liked. When they arrived they were beautiful, but soo sweet, not what we wanted. The steak & octopus came and once again the food was so overly seasoned with salt it was perplexing to us. Maybe it was an off night? The truffle fries were COVERED in giant sea salt flakes, and didn't taste truffley at all. Kind of disappointing for how pricy and elegant the restaurant is. Then it was like our waiter completely ghosted us the rest of the night. We kept looking around for him wanting to pay the bill. I'm sure this is a very happening date night spot, but for us, it missed the mark.

Cambalache is an Argentine steakhouse, which is reflected in the style of grilling their meats (over an open flame, which can be viewed at the back of the restaurant), and the service of the meat itself (a La plancha, at the table). We chose the ribeye (600-700g) to share. It was perfectly cooked to medium temperature, and sliced for us tableside. A beautiful cut of meat, and very flavorful. The side dishes were tasty, too (the soufflé potatoes are a signature, and they're fun to try/share). Speaking of tableside prep, I highly recommend saving room for the strawberries Romanoff - our server spent about 20 minutes whipping a combination of vanilla Haagen Dazs, Grand Marnier, cream, and fresh-sliced strawberries into a fluffy concoction that was divinely yummy. Our youngest diner insisted on coming back to Cambalache a second time, a week later, just to have it again. It's not on the regular postre menu, so be sure to ask your server about it.

The Starter Game: They kick things off with a bean dip and a lineup of sauces. Pro-tip: Go for the white sauce, but proceed with caution--it's hella spicy and easily the best of the bunch. The Main Event (Combo for 2): We split the "Combo for 2" which featured: * The Beef Broth: It comes with a tray of condiments to customize the flavor. I wouldn't usually order this, but it was surprisingly savory and a great warm-up. * NY Strip & Skirt Steak: The meat arrives rare, but here's the best part: it's served on a scorching hot slab. Since we like our steaks cooked differently, we were able to sear each bite to our own perfect temperature right at the table. * The Truffle Fries: Two words--ABSOLUTELY DIVINE. Don't skip these. The Vibe: The restaurant is located on the first floor (one story up) and has a great atmosphere. Easy to book, delicious food, and interactive cooking? A total win.

The wine list is pretty expensive and the wine display upon entry is pretty impressive. The outer dining room is by far nicer than the indoor room, though you are subjecting yourself to the smoking section if that's the path you choose. Like most high end restaurants in Polanco, you can expect loud, out of place music with videos on large screens that attempt to match the beat. I've had the Caesar salad here, the Tomahawk steak and the beef ribs. The ribs were by far my favorite. They fell right off the bone and didn't need an ounce of additional sauce or seasoning. The complimentary bread is a nice touch and their seasoned butter is great. The dessert selection is pretty vast, with about 10 different options. The chocolate layer cake is insanely good, but feeds an entire table so bring back up.

There was only two of us, but yet we still chose to go with the grilled meats options, which comes with five variety of cuts. Rib meat, filet mignon, sirloin, and flank steak. Our waiter warned us that that will be too much food, but we insisted and he was absolutely right. We also ordered a baked potato and a cream spinach. Cream spinach is the style in which the spinach leaves are left in tact as opposed to someplace in the US where the spinach is finely chopped. The meat was served over a hot charcoal grill that was brought to our table. If you choose to keep the meat warm or cook it further you can because the grill is hot enough to cook on it. My favorite meat turned out to be the rib meat as it is more fatty, and it was well salted. Filet mignon was good and lean as it should be. None of the meat were marinated. I believe the only marinade used was salt pepper in some garlic. they also asked us if we wanted to get local Mexican meat or import meat. After inquiry, I discovered that import means US imported meat. We chose the local meet and it was perfect .
