Working with Cue Recording has been amazing so far. I connected with their recording engineer Blaine through a pianist that I work with. She recommended him specifically, and I'm glad she did. Blaine is quite methodical in the way he works. My experience was with voice and piano, so I cannot speak for a situation that involves more instruments, but I was able to be in the same room with my pianist. I wasn't asked to use a click track or anything like that, which made it feel quite natural. We were able to record four songs in an hour, which ended up being just right in terms of doing multiple takes for some songs. According to their website, Cue recording has been "making great records for 25 years" in Falls Church, Virginia. They have an impressive client list and maybe one day they can add my name to it. I came to Cue Recording via voicecoaches.com and recorded my voice acting demo through them 4 weeks ago. Based on the website pictures, I believe that I was in the Red Room Studio. Sure, the carpet was well worn and the room felt a little aged, but it all felt like the room oozed with experience. My demo is my resume and I want to work with someone I trust. After I settled in, the trust was instant. My demo producer was actually hundreds of miles away while I was in Falls Church, Va. A mic to the phone in the booth and his voice was loud and clear on my head set in the other room. The potentially daunting was made possible and seamless. Miles were bridged in an instant. The audio engineer was great. He gave me great feedback and was on his game the whole time. Dude was a wiz on the sound board and on point with every task all night. Now, I am a recording studio virgin and have nothing to compare this to. My bullshit meter is set on "high" and it never went off. These folks are the real deal and know how to get the job done. I'm a singer and I wasted so much money here on one of my songs. The whole $$//per hour is ridiculous considering the guys take 4 bathroom breaks an hour, and 3 coffee breaks an hour.
