Today's search was for composting supplies. I want to start a compost pile at the relative's local home. Two thumbs up because they have in stock a composter and compressed straw, which could get us started immediately. Not exactly the model I'm looking for, so I had to pass for now. Plenty of canning supplies, including large pots. Some good bargains to be had in the small nursery outside; tomatoes plants, trees, grasses and perennials at discounted prices.

IFA has its own regional feed mill, and for many years was able to provide custom feed for my poultry operation. Very knowledgeable about feeds and medicines for other species, as well. Radically superior customer service to the other place in town. The guys in the warehouse are quick, efficient and friendly loading up big orders... I have literally waited for an hour at the other place for them to load my order. As close as you can get to shopping a local feed store, even though it's a corporate operation.

I…read morewas excited to see what brands of work wear and western wear that they carried being that Elko is a rather rural environment. Upon entering the store I was pleased to find a nice variety of brands like Carhartt, Wrangler, Red Wing, Danner and my two favorites Filson and White's Boots. If you know anything about Filson and White's you will understand that finding a store with a good selection of these brands is hard because of the high price point. After trying on my fair share of Filson garments I was pleased to find that they were willing to offer a 5% discount on Filson items. 5% isn't much but hey a discount is a discount. I began to chat with the woman working there who ended up being the owner, Anita. As we chatted about a recent collaboration between Filson and Levi's she quickly brought up the another collaboration that Levi's did with Pendleton which was impressive to me when her closest Levi's store is 300 miles away in Reno, NV. All in all I had a great experience here and would recommend this spot to anyone who needs gear while in or around Elko.
