If I get this right, they offer a different "theme" of dishes on different days of the week (closed on Tuesday), from pasta to fish to a foreign country theme (in my case it was the latter, the country being Morocco). So you order an aperitivo and dishes from the special menu. Each dish is only €3 (!!) but then they seem to add a surcharge of €3 per drink during aperitivo hour. Slightly strange concept and very penalising for a committing alcoholic like myself ;-) The Moroccan aperitivo menu consisted of an antipasto option (mixed starter), a primo (cous cous) and a secondo (some meat dish). I had a big lunch so only had the starter (see picture - quite tasty) and took the remaining calorie balance in liquid form. Speaking of which - the cocktail menu offers some interesting options (not all of the classics are listed, but these guys seem to know their stuff, just ask for what you want) and compared to the Rivalta Caffé, the drinks are balanced less sweet here. They have an interesting selection of vermouth, with some labels that are hard to come by outside of Italy. They also understand their bitters, with the likes of Bittermen's, Fee Brothers, Bitter Truth, Booker's and others present. There is also a comprehensive wine list and a menu with some other food options. I will certainly be back!

It's a wine bar where you can also order snacks (so not quite an aperitivo place, but lovely all the same). We ordered some bruschetta and a plate of olives, onions, and artichokes. All were yummy: the bruschetta was great, and the olives were fantastic. It was nice to sit out by the street and just enjoy our wine and food; there were one or two other tourists like us, but for the most part, it seemed to attract the local clientele.

It was easy to search for nearby restaurants and be guided to our destination! We had to wait quite a bit before we had the server bring water to the table.... What I like most about their menu is that they use organic and seasonal products, and they have a good handful of clearly-labeled vegan options, but I will say that I wish there was a bit more variety in the vegan options, as most of them are soups and vegetables. 3/5 WHAT I GOT: I got the "Cous Cous o Riso al naturale con verdure a scelta dalla vetrina," which basically translates to "cous cous or rice with seasonal vegetables." I got it with rice. It was pretty good overall, and the one negative I have is that it was too oily -- like you can tell from my picture. But other than that, the actually quality of it all was good, and all the different vegetables tasted fresh, and they were thoroughly cooked. The rice wasn't under or overcooked either. Plus, it was a pretty good price (€8), as was most of the rest of the menu (reasonably-priced), especially for a restaurant that looks nicer than what you typically come across there, and that has higher standards (organic produce, etc.). 3/5 SERVICE: The service was pretty good. Our waitress seemed nice and friendly, and our food didn't take too long or anything to come out. The only complaint I have is that their website says they open for dinner at 6pm, but we went there at 6pm, and they said they start serving dinner at 7pm, which was annoying. But, we somehow managed to find some places nearby to look around at and whatnot while waiting. 3/5

I settled for the house red, a basic Chianti, and my DC had the Classico (mine from a cask; his from a bottle). We weren't even sure we wanted food, but the owner suggested a small sampling of meats, cheese, and bread--and I'm really glad he did! 2 kinds of Tuscan salame--one mild, one stronger, some wonderful pecorino cheese, and slices of lardo--thin delicate pure fat that he recommended we put on top of the warmed foccacia and let it melt a bit. We found we did have small appetites after all--and enjoyed ourselves immensely. We were the only anglophones in the place--which was also a really wonderful change from many of the larger fancier restaurants. Highly recommended (ignore the Tripadvisor review in English that references reheated food--that's clearly the wrong place).

The interior design of this place is super cute and quirky, but that was unfortunate the best thing about it. The staff inside was basically disgusted that we were there. They constantly rolled their eyes at us and groaned. The food came out which was decent and plated beautifully, but for the price I wouldn't go back. The avocado toast was very sour and tasted like the avocados were going bad and they tried to cover it up with lime juice.

It's close to Palazzo Pitti and you'll miss if you blink coz it's so unassuming! The lemon sorbet is so good! It's on the tart side. My friend loved the coconut so much we came back twice after she tried it the first time. They also serve espresso. Don't expect a huge welcome because the owner/man behind the counter isn't the warm and fuzzy sort. I witnessed a woman come in and gush to him about how fabulous his gelato is (in Italian, and I'm only guessing from the words I overheard) and his smile didn't change by much, although I could tell he was pleased and grateful.
