I chose them for their competitive price, clean facilitiy, and convenient location near the Interstate. Both Casey and David, the two site managers, have been terrific. I dabble in eBay sales, and feel comfortable having people come to the storage unit to pay for and pick up their items (much better than having strangers come to the house). Casey was super in helping us figure out what size space we needed, and in July she helped me figure out how to package a large, awkward package for shipping. David was recently very cheerful in helping me understand the terms of my contract, so that I don't incur extra charges when I move out next month. I'm sorry that a previous viewer had a negative experience, but I have had nothing but positive things to say about East Lyme Rent-A-Space.(not to nitpick her comments, but there is a sign clearly posted on the dumpster that it is for cardboard only).

Even though i signed the contract that had stated no refund i called back in 24 hours not even using the space to cancel. I paid with a credit card and manager told me there was no way he could help me out because they were not set up to refund. Whatever. I found a place much less expensive and twice the size. My feelings are that you would think people could help each other out considering how the world is these days. Oh well my mistake and free money to them!

I made it clear that I had a lot of large, heavy furniture and I also told them the sizes of the two storage units that I wanted emptied and brought to my new house. I specifically asked if it would all fit and if they would make multiple trips. I was quoted a price for six hours including tax. They did bring most of the large, heavy stuff but took NONE of the boxes. Now I am left to empty half of a 10x25 unit in MANY trips in my car. Not only that, but one of the movers spent a lot of time trying to get out a splinter (using tweezers that I offered) and using the bathroom and the other guy stood around waiting for him. This caused me to be charged for an extra hour. I'm grateful for what they did, but it wasn't as much as I was expecting. I'm older and on a limited budget so I went with the lower priced option because she said they would handle it, but they didn't and now my arthritic knees and back are paying for it.
