Avoid this facility AT ALL COSTS…read more TL;DR My storage unit was broken into because of gross negligence on the part of management. I will be filing a small claims lawsuit. The unit next to mine was vacated a week after I moved in, and instead of properly securing it, they left it WIDE open--despite there being nearly a 2-foot gap from the ceiling, providing direct access into my unit. Unsurprisingly, over $2,000 worth of my belongings were stolen: brand new performance tires, electronics, board games, and collectibles--all gone. When I confronted management, they couldn't have cared less. Their response? "You didn't buy our insurance, so we can't do anything." Not only is that a ridiculous cop-out, but I also have my own insurance policy. What matters is that they completely failed to provide even the most basic level of security or responsibility. I might as well left my belongings on the street. To make things worse, even AFTER the police came and filed a report, they continued to leave the adjacent unit WIDE open for weeks. They knew it was an access point for theft and chose to do nothing. The facility itself is in poor condition. The units are constantly wet due to leaks in the roof. There are no security cameras inside, only one at the gate--which does absolutely nothing once someone's inside the building. No hallway cameras, no alarms, no safeguards. It's completely unacceptable. This facility failed me on every level: security, accountability, professionalism. Their negligence cost me thousands, and their attitude added insult to injury. Do not store your things here unless you're okay with losing them.

Do you expect a climate controlled facility to have a mold problem? This facility does. We moved…read morepristine wood furniture and items from my mother's estate in several years ago and this past year, white mold began to form on everything. It was so pervasive, covering and damaging all the antiques. Insurance did nothing and Midgard avoided any responsibility. No discount, no cleaning, just a constant price hike. This is a terrible company I would avoid storing anything with them. Just another large company with zero ethics and just looking to make money.

I rent a unit from Midgard Self Storage in Cumming, Ga and am reviewing this business because…read morerecently I discovered the source of all the mold and mildew in my unit. As we continued to remove things from the unit we discovered all the water damage that evidently had been occurring over this time which in turn resulted in the mold all over my things. I have been paying for a climate controlled unit for three years and all the while the temperature, humidity, and dryness was not being controlled at all, but rather our stuff was being ruined while we continued to be charged more and more. If you have items at this storage facility located at 6075 Post Road, Cumming, Ga I advise you to go in and check the condition of your things before they are ruined as well. Edit: In response to the (Owner), Brittany H. I posted a truthful review on Yelp with pictures to explain the situation. In response to my review the (purported owner) responded with a request for me to contact the business to get help. Such a bogus move, as if you care! I reported this months ago and got NO HELP!! Don't try to put the onus on me, this is all on you! I've been on the phone for 45 minutes with one of your agents today. I've sent emails and pictures and I've sent texts with pictures. Stop acting as if you care!

(I have a unit in the Coal Mountain/Cumming location that is managed out of the Canton, GA office.)…read more Management called me and advised they found my unit unlocked with the lock and key inside. They advised the key had a lanyard/string around it. I was very perplexed by this because we have all keys that were issued to us and never have we had any keys with strings/lanyards around them. I went to the facility and thankfully nothing appeared missing. I called management and advised that my lock they issued must have been recycled because someone must have had a key and unlocked it. I asked if they would replace my lock with a new one. I also asked perhaps they were mistaken and it was a different storage room than mine that they found unlocked. The manager became defensive and said I was accusing her of being dishonest and that it is against their policy to recycle locks. She said she had a picture of my unit when she found it unlocked, and she knows it was mine unlocked. I asked if she could send me the picture and she said she no longer has it. I informed her that I am not accusing anyone of dishonesty, but rather that there must have been some mistake on their end- either they mistakenly identified the unlocked storage facility as mine or they mistakenly used the same lock on our unit so that a previous renter still has a key. The manager said they would not replace my lock and if I wanted to I could go buy another one and ended the call. Wow. I will be moving out of this storage facility. The mistake is on their end and instead of hearing me out, replacing the lock, they told me it was my fault and to deal with it. No thanks. I want a facility that is going to keep my stuff safe and then support me if there are issues.
