This is my local grocery store and it has the best selection in town. From produce to healthier options, it is simply the best. Now, you pay a premium for that, and the Aldi nearby is definitely cheaper, but I like to cook all my own means so if I need specific ingredients I don't even hesitate coming here. I know they'll have it. They also have free kids cookies, so it makes bringing the two girls a breeze. Get a free cookie and apple, let them munch, and I'm shopping. I can't believe more places don't offer this. Shelves are always stocked, I see staff everywhere helping out, and the checkout folks are so kind and courteous. They even give the kiddos stickers. Purchased strawberries buy one get one free 7/17/25. They looked great. Today 7/19/25, still looked great, but when I opened them to use, they were all moldy. I guess I need to learn, good deals mean old product they want to get rid of...high prices, bad deals. read more

I stopped here to get some carrots and go to the restroom. I need veggies for my stomach to function like it is supposed to. The place was very comfortable because not too tight. Many employees who are nice and ready to help. It wasn't extremely busy for Saturday morning but busy enough to see many cars in the parking lot which is ample by the way. UPDATE MONDAY, i talked to Dan and he got me them corn for sale price! Dan in produce even offered the corn for free, but i paid for the. BACK TO A 5 STAR RATING.i usually give cub in monticello a 5 star. dan always is great! but not tonight. 1 star! went to get some sweet corn, at 3 for $1, but they were out. clerk said no to rain check, and even higher up said no! i went especially to get 6 ears, but returned with zero and sadness that a rain check was too much to ask for! 1 star cub! do better! I know its only a $1 between regular and sale price but i would think for $1 , Cub would be happy to keep a long time customer happy. read more

Hi! About 10:00 tonight I went to the Cub grocery store on 7th St in Monticello, MN. I entered through the main doors that take you by the fruits and veggies. After going through the doors I glanced back to the stand that has the weekly coupon books and next to it are 2 stacks of carry baskets...out of the corner of my I saw a huge adult RAT!!!! I thought, no, I must be seeing things and I motioned for my son to look as it had moved behind view. I walked around trying to get a better look but could only see part of an animal body. I then went to the cashier and told her they had what looked like a rat by the door. She came over with a broom (of all things), and did manage to get a good enough look from the side to confirm.."YES it is a RAT." I told her she needed to keep her eye on it and get someone to help get rid of it. HA!!! Not 5 minutes after I walked away, she did too. I mentioned the rat to 3 other people working at the store and none seemed concerned. That is only the 2nd time I have been in that particular Cub Food store and I will not be going back...that tells me it must not be unusual for them to have a rat and probably have more!
