I called this morning to inquire about having a rug cleaned. The guy asked "what type of rug do you have either hand or machine made." I told him, "I don't know I bought at the store for $100 bucks." He laughed and then said 'even if its cheap don't put it on the curb bring it to me." I then said "so you want me to either pay you $185 to clean or give it to you for free?" He laughed again and said "yes" What the hell I never got a chance to schedule the service. He was more interested in getting my rug for free. Never. read more

The first time I had my rugs cleaned I was so happy with the results of our large rugs. 1 star for that and 1 star for how nice Tom is. But 2 of the rugs were brought back completely destroyed and he brought us some "free" rugs which were nowhere comparable to the jute rugs I sent. They smelled terrible and had hand written price tags as if he was re-selling them then just passed them off to try to help the fact he destroyed our rugs. I still paid far more than competitive rates. The second time was a nightmare with our wool rugs. I'm not sure they were even cleaned and it was nothing like the first cleaning. The house smelled bad AFTER having the rugs cleaned. I have lost thousands of dollars between replacing rugs and having them cleaned again on top of the high pricing using Tom. read more

Took my wool but inexpensive IKEA rug and Tom was not in the store so I left it. He called me and wanted $350 to clean it. I told him that was very expensive and I would pick it up later he kept messaging me, showing me pictures how they would hand clean itand he also wanted my rug he would pay me $100 to keep it. I went across Camp Bowie to another rug cleaners paid 150 and they did an excellent job and customer service was excellent. read more

We needed a rug cut and rebound and we were more than happy with the outcome. Owner is super helpful and will offer you a really good black tea. I'm not sure about his other services as we only had ours rebound but I think he also does cleanings and he has a ton of rugs! He even loaned us a rug while ours was being done because it was during the Texas Winter Storm and we were in an RV. Who does that? People with a good heart that's who. Tom cleaned many rugs for me when I lived in Fort Worth. His prices were always reasonable and my rugs always came home clean and fresh...never a problem. When I moved to Wimberley and was getting rid of things I no longer wanted I gave him a beautiful Iranian tea pot. He seemed overcome with gratitude for my gesture. Apparently the item had significant religious meaning to him. What a great opportunity for my Christian faith and his Islamic faith to find common ground, a simple life d gesture. I have an 8x10 foot hand knotted wool rug that had been stored for 18 months while I was remodeling. Wanted to get it cleaned and asked CT rugs for an estimate. They told me $790 to hand wash and clean. He then told me that since it had a musty smell that it would be another $180 for an enzyme treatment. Ok, this rug has been in my family for 40 years and it has never been peed on by an animal and it had a musty smell because it had been stored for 18 months. So I called another rug company and got a quote of $280 that would be a hand washing of the rug and also enzyme treatment if required. I had the other company clean the rug and it turned out great without any enzyme treatment. read more

Tom did a great job on my rugs. He got the "dog smell" and stains out and they look and smell so good! He even fixed the fringe on the end of one and didn't even charge me. He is very knowledgeable and gave me some good info on do's and don'ts to keep my rugs looking good. I can't help but check out reviewers to see if they are legitimate or just serial complainers. I see one does just that. If someone STOLE your priceless rugs wouldn't you turn them into the police dept for theft? How about calling a lawyer? If they told you your rugs were stolen wouldn't you insist on seeing a police report of the theft as proof?? I assume that she has proof of her business, as in invoices. If a friend witnesses your stolen items for sell wouldn't they turn in the place or person selling them?? How about taking photos or videos, in this day and age everyone films criminals. Of course if they are priceless you would definitely have individual appraisals of every rug and keep a copy filed with your home owners insurance. You never know when a flood, fire or theft could occur do you? Sometimes people you have to consider the source and check out their story, not everyone is honest and trustworthy. RUG THIEF!!!!!! I dropped off five priceless antique Oriental and Persian rugs here for cleaning after I inherited them from my grandmother. I was heavily pregnant with my second child and struggling in the 100-degree weather. The owner was sickeningly sweet (in hindsight), and assured me the cleaning would be done within two weeks. Upon arriving at his store to pick up my rugs, he informed me all but one (the least expensive one) of my rugs had been stolen in a "burglary", and blamed the close proximity to Como. I was shocked and naïve at the time, and I didn't really know what to say. He brought out a ledger and showed me the other clients who allegedly had their rugs stolen also. He went on to say they still paid him and then demanded I pay $756 for the cleaning since he had in fact done it. I was feeling intimidated and heartbroken that my family heirlooms were gone, and I actually wrote him a check. He gave me a large average-quality rug (probably another stolen rug) to "make up" for the fact that mine were gone. I felt weird about the whole situation so I called the police. They were incredulous when I told them I paid the man, and suggested I stop payment on the check. Beyond that nothing was done. Upon thinking more clearly in the months and years that have followed (I regularly seethe with rage thinking about this incident) I have never known a drug addict or thief to steal RUGS. These rugs weighed like 300 lbs. I suspected the owner sold them. My suspicions were confirmed when a family friend on the Estate Sale circuit claims he is a frequent visitor and seller of rare rugs. I'm sure mine are sitting in someone's home somewhere in Texas, and they probably paid a fortune for them. STEER CLEAR OF THIS P.O.S. THIEF!!!!! read more

Do not use their rug cleaning service. I periodically steam clean my rug myself but since I wanted a professional cleaning done I sent it to C T Rugs. When I finally got my rug back, after calling several times to get it returned, the rug was ruined. It was completely faded and all the colors had run together. I had cleaned this rug with a rug doctor steam cleaning machine myself and never had a problem. This was a 100% wool oriental rug worth 1500.00 dollars. The owner Tom Tom did not charge me for the rug cleaning since I was not happy, but now I have to replace the rug out of my own pocket. All Tom would offer me was a discount at his store if I wanted to buy a new rug from him. read more
