Aiken, I'd like to tell you about a little known gem. For some time, I have suffered from knotted…read moremuscles in my neck, shoulders and back. Then sciatic pain started. I was facing a 20 hr each way rode trip. After searching for a massage therapist, I happened upon Lara Bridges at Aiken Center for Neuromuscular Therapy. My experience with massage was the relaxing kind and a couple of deep tissue ones. She is different. She asked questions and went to work. As the only neuromuscular massage therapist AND practitioner in the area her massage is medically based. She only went to where the pain was or the area that was causing the pain and found issues I didn't know I had. On the first visit, she worked her magic on me and that 20 hr drive and 12 day vacation was pain free. I've now been going to her since the middle of June. She has moved 2 muscles that were out of place, impinging a nerve and causing pain. This is a way to deal with pain without drugs. I can't recommend her enough.

Afterwards, I responded with "yes, I prefer one". Then he continued with "we can't guarantee you will get a female". He then mumbled "I'll contact the VA". I asked him to repeat what he said. He responded with the before mentioned about contacting The VA. I couldn't believe what he said. Within 2 minutes I received a text stating my appointment was canceled. I've tried to call them several times to speak with another person or possibly the manager. I hope he's not the manager or the owner. I do understand people have bad days. Henceforth, he wasn't entirely professional with his eagerness to shun me off and cancel my appointment less than two minutes after me asking one question. I was unsuccessful in speaking with anyone after numerous calls. Therefore, I'm posting this review.

I observed the behavior of the front desk staff and it aapears that they are MOSTLY lumpy and grumpy people that like to sit and gossip. It took multiple telephone calls and portal messages to get a response. I called and asked if I had to schedule an appointment with Dr. Yagnick in order to get a response to my portal message. There was one lady that appeared to be a new employee that was much better than the other ones. The office manager is rude, unprofessional, and hostile person. If she is setting the standard, just close the office. The epidurial did not work. I was told that my medication was ordered and sent to the VA after stating that Gabapentin and Tramadol did not work for my pain. I found out after waiting 1.5 hours at the VA Phamacy in severe pain. I was thinking that I was waiting on medcation so that I would not have to suffer the entire weekend in pain. I have been dealing with migraines for the past 5-6 days. I have migraine medication, thankfully. I was on the phone with someone prior to the office manager, I was told that she was a nurse. It wasn't Sherry. When I spoke with Sherry, she did take accountability and acted as if she cared a little. The one that I spoke to on last Thursday was filled with such a nasty attitude. I told her that I was calling regarding my presciption that I was sitting there waiting on because I was trying to figure out if I should continue to wait or leave to go home. She looked in the system and told me the the prescription order that was sent over failed. Why did I get 5 telephone calls four of which I missed because I was up all night in pain. I was told that it was ready for pickup before noon. I went to the pharmacy at 2. Before someone calls to tell you that a prescription has been sent to the pharmacy, it should be verified that it was received before tell the patient to go pick it up. I cannot sit or stand for long periods of time. As I was sitting in the waiting room, pain circled from my shoulders to lower shoulder blade, it hurt to breathe and my right hand was going numb. I posed the question to the "nurse", Why am I being seen by pain management if my pain is not being managed? Valid question, right? Well, radio silence. She then said "you want to cancel your procedure for 3/5"? No empathy or sympathy from her or the office manager. They go around the area to different doctor's offices to solicit referals. Trust me, look for a better office and pay attention to the face of the office that sits at the front desk. You should never be comfortable to disrespect patients, EVER. Without us, you do not have a job. Food for thought. Do better. Maybe you were having a bad day, not my business, I should have never been used as your punching bag. People are so brave on the telephone and just say whatever they want to the patients.
