This is the last review as I don't intend to come here again. CSL Plasma is usually known for giving some cash for plasma donations, I used to go here weekly back when I was unemployed? The first round of donations were nice in terms of profit. And going once or twice a week yielded okay amounts of money. Now as of this month in 2025, I cannot recommend anyone to go here anymore. CSL has failed to adapt and keep up with its customers and operational layouts. Everytime I go there regardless of the time, there is a staff shortage and excessively long lines. The staff are unable to make time to help people who are either new or experienced. You go for 30 minutes and it can even take up to 2 hours. That's just how bad it is now? I originally had no issue with the staff, yet it's become more clear they are very unprofessional. Too many of the "individuals" do not understand the importance of maintaining decency in the workplace. Yet I still recall some of their talks about gross dates and personal medical issues? What really pulled me off CSL are the lower payments. They changed it so the first week donations are lower and a little higher for the 2nd visit? That's not right? Not everyone has the time to go here since it's a bit of a far drive. To be frank, they gotta fire almost everyone here and hire more professional and courteous employees. Witnessing and being in problems at CSL for many months is definitely proof you should not go here. Go anywhere else but here. read more

Been going here for about a year now and the service definitely has not changed. When you walk in there's not a lot of people upfront to help. Once you fill out your questionnaire you wait in line to do your usual check (weight, iron levels, temp, etc.) if all goes well you head to the line to get on the "donating floor". If all does not go well you either go home or see a nurse. I've had both experiences multiple times. When there is no problems I can be there 1.5hr but if I have to see the nurse it can be 2-2.5hrs you never know. Best day so far is Thursday. If you go on a Monday or Friday expect to be there 2-3hrs minimum. The customer service is average. There's a few people that you can just tell they hate their jobs. And there's a few that want to do their job quickly and efficiently. I only had one issue. There was a woman that was doing the "poking" that did not change her gloves once! I watched for 1hr go from person to person with the same gloves. I really wanted to say something but you don't really have much privacy there. When I went home I called to report it. Haven't seen her since and I hope she didn't lose her job but this is peoples health your messing with. Ever since that's time I make sure to watch them change gloves before and after they help me. Definitely a decent way to make some extra cash when needed. Will continue to show up as long as they continue to stay clean. read more

The staff here was super friendly and helpful, making for a seamless experience! The space was clean and the process was efficient for all the steps needed to donate. Just be prepared to be there for awhile as it took a little over 2 1/2 hours to complete the whole process for a first timer, which seems to be normal. The workers were talking to each other so I sat there for over an hour without help even though they knew I was there. They put the needle in wrong and I immediately felt the pain but they insisted it was okay. I fainted and was given no food or drink until I was almost walking out the door. Just before I left they told me I got a hematoma, did not explain to me how it occurred or what to really do they just gave me a sheet and told me to follow the instructions. Got a call from them three days after and they told me I could donate again if I wanted to and even when I told them I'm still really bruised and swollen they said they could still do it. It took almost two months for the bruising to go down and I was in so much pain, do not go here. read more

This is an update from my previous review. After a while things got better but this time it got really worse. Their methods are very redundant and in-efficient. After past complications with the previous donations they said I needed to be evaluated. And so I did. They evaluated me and it's okay for me to proceed with the donation process. But then I showed them my right arm and they said I needed to be evaluated for that again. These people just wanted to waste my damn time at this point. I'm getting frustrated and asked if they could just let me through and use my left arm. But they won't let me. They say I needed an evaluation still because I somehow bruised my right arm from work. It's just a light scratch. I can still use my left arm damn it. But they don't care. They don't want to take donations and flat out rejected me for dubious reasons. Very unreasonable people here. If they don't want me fine. I'm not returning. They just lost themselves a donor who is clean, drug and alcohol free. I would urge people to look at other plasma donation sites or don't bother donating at all. Apparently they don't need it that bad. This is the last time I will be returning to that site as I don't appreciate being treated like crap. read more

I travel by BART from Emeryville to this location for the last four months. So I do not take my donations lightly, nor this review. I have donated at other companies in the Bay Area, ie Octaplasma; and would not recommend. But I would highly recommend CSL Plasma. I have their facilities to be medically clean every time I have came to donate. Their medical staff have always been very professional and courteous. Yes, there can be a wait once you have been screened; and you are waiting for your turn for a machine. The only complaint I have is in regards to certain donations who think it is alright to dog the staff while waiting in line. Please just come with an oounce of patience. They just got new machines in and are all trying to learn on them. We will all benefit from the new technology. read more

When I came here the bigger that works there with glasses lady put the needle in WRONG and I was in pain the ENTIRE TIME! Every time I would squeeze the ball or move my arm just a slight tiny bit or move my body it would feel like my vein was going to pop.. My boyfriend went almost 5 days ago and they put it in the wrong part of his arm, and didn't put it in the vein correctly so all of the blood and saline basically puffed up in his upper arm and was swollen for a week now and he's been in a lot of pain. Took 3 visits as a new donor to get screened. Visit 3 I spent 2.5 hours being bounced around from one staff member to the next. Saw the nurse 3 times and then she said I had to get a form filled out verifying I had a spinal cord injury. I literally pulled up medical records and a note on MyChart verifying it was from a herniated disc and I was good to donate blood and plasma. Said that wasn't good enough. I needed proof of cause of spinal cord injury...umm yeah the herniated disc 12.5 years ago. Why did it take over 5 hours between 3 appointments to request this!!! read more

DO NOT GO HERE! FOR YOUR OWN HEALTH DONT DO IT. My boyfriend and I went months ago, and here's what happened. We got like a consultation. we watched a video and answered questions on the kiosk there. We wanted to do this to pay for our college classes because we're broke college students. The nurse I had was fine, and everything went well physically for me. However, I was next to my boyfriend when we did this and the nurse who helped my boyfriend out just kept moving his needle in his arm almost like she didint know it was in the spot it was supposed to be. She then took it out and readjusted it and put it back in his arm, and my boyfriend started to look like he was about to pass out. I texted him asking him if he was okay, and he texted me that he was feeling dizzy, and his head started to go down. So I asked the nurse to tend to him and that he told me he felt dissy. They kinda looked at me weirdly because I kept looking at him, and I had to explain that he was my boyfriend, and they were kinda like giving me weird looks. They ended up taking the needle out and putting it in his other arm, and we finished our plasma bottles. We never went back because a few days later, his whole arm started brusing hella bad. He couldn't lift heavy things or work out for a whole month. The pictures are from the first week after, but they got wayyyy darker over time and took him over a month to fully recover. I feel like their nurses or the people putting the needles in might need to be more educated on how to properly put the needle in without causing harm to the person donating. This was overall a spooky and horrible experience, and I want to warn people who need extra cash and are thinking of going here. What's more important, your well-being or money. Usually donate in San Diego but decided to donate at Hayward since I was in town visiting family. First impression, clean and organized. 'Vital staff' were very helpful in getting me transferred into their system and ensure the process of getting my vitals was as smooth as possible. As I was getting ready to get hooked up to the machine to start donating, I was constantly asked how I was and if I needed anything. I was given a squeeze ball which isn't common in San Diego. The staff were very tentative and monitored me throughout the whole process. There was a moment was a moment when the return of my red blood cell weren't being return back as fast as they should which caused me to get light headed. To prevent me from being deferred they slowly returned my red blood cells while fanning me down, cooling me down with ice packed and keeping me company until I was back to normal. Three staff members tended to my care. Despite everything I had an amazing experience and felt very safe. I highly recommend! read more

They hire people who don't know what they're doing I've had more problems with them messing up the donation and causing issues with my arms then i can count on my ten fingers, not worth it in my opinion. read more

This place is a joke , they accept anybody , you can be full of scabs from picking and they don't drug test like they say. Most of staff will poke a (fish) for your vein.... The pay system is broken. You get charged to use the card , and if the balance is too low and you swipe and get denied , you are charged and then you will in. The negative and there a fee for that too. So let's say you made $35 from a donation , with draw $20 from an atm , charged $3.50 , now you have $12 you go to out the in gas. The card charged you a fee to swipe . Now you only have paid $9 for the gas $3 for the fee and now negative -3$ in the account and now overdraft fee of $30 or something ......let's be real this if a corp built by the elites to harvest your plasma . read more

The care quality that Victoria one the at Csl Plasma shows is utterly unprofessional the way she and cares for her patience is utterly to see a not care about her patience and that's the type of care that Victoria will give you. She is very disrespectful inappropriate at times and makes this Csl Plasma center look very unprofessional as a whole because of her professional customer experience that seems to not be there and the fact that I was spitting up blood from my mouth and she didn't record anything because of how unprofessional and nonchalant, she takes a medical professional which is baffling and has me dumbfounded because if you're going to act as a medical physician in any sense or form that is a job that you need to take 100% pride which she does not hope Csl Plasma does rectify her unprofessional behavior read more

The doctor who did the physical there today (7/30/24) should to be fired for spouting nonsense and inability to read a form. Literally had no clue what she was talking about. Apparently having blemishes on your elbow area (olecranon area) where they take the plasma is deemed a scar. Yes, I have eczema but not normally there. There was old dark spots on my left arm (old as in done healing and not currently dry or itching), my right arm which was just darker pigmented in my elbow area was also not okay cause apparently she has the eyes of god and could spot dots of eczema in a already darkened region of my skin. Then she proceeds to point to random spots on my right arm and then finally points to a stretch mark which she deems it to be eczema and I'm just sitting there like are you dumb cause I already told you I have stretch marks from gyming. An unqualified doctor even if they have a degree should not be practicing if old age is catching up to their stupidity. Other than that, other staff was very nice and guiding through the hour long first donor process. Don't donate here unless you have perfectly blemish free clear beautiful skin on the top of your elbow region. read more

So I was told that you can get paid to donate plasma. That its the same as donating blood but you get paid.I am in Gilroy and the webpage told me I needed to make an appointment at the Hayward branch. So I made the appointment, brought my state and government id and SS card. Round trip was 2 hours 20 minutes, 103 miles, $34.33 in gas. When I got there I let them know I had an appointment. They had the manager come up and asked my zip code. They said my zip-code wasn't on their list so they couldn't take my donation. WTF. I told them I had an appointment and I drove over an hour. They said that they can't go outside the zip code area. So I called the phone number on my verification email and let them know what had happened. The lady was angry that I was turned away. She went on the cite and verified that the Hayward one was where I was supposed to go because of where I live. She called the Haywrd branch and spoke with the manager and told her its not ok that I was turned down. That I had an appointment and this was my most local place to go. The manager said my zipcode wasnt on the list they service. Corporate put her in her place letting her know they do NOT turn people away and that she verified I was supposed to go there AND I had an appointment, so how dare them turn me down. They need all the donations they can get. So thats one less person to get the help they need because these workers decide to turn people away. I can't put names because yelp will remove my review. Corporate told the manager that they need to fix it that they don't have a zip code list and if they have an appointment they are to take them no matter the zipcode. We can only make an appointment if we are in that area for that branch. I would NEVER recommend this place and I will NEVER be back. read more

The people I've interacted with incredibly chill and welcoming. I've gone a handful of times already and recognize a lot of the people there and they have come to recognize me as well. The first time you go is a long process as you have to register and be screened. Remember to bring your documents (SS Card, Valid In Date ID, and proof of address). The app is super helpful to answer the questionnaire before your visit to make the process a lot smoother. It can be busy at times especially in the afternoon around 1PM, Will definitely come back to donate! Very disorganized and rude staff. They are always OVERSTAFFED. When I pointed out that they have out a sign saying $1000/month for donors, they said "That's the old promotion. It changed 2 weeks ago." When I went back a week later, the sign was still there. Octapharma plasma in Oakland pays more (after the initial trial period), and they have much nicer staff and more streamlined process. CLS has a newer cleaner facility, but the staff is so rude and incompetent, and the pay is so much lower than Octapharma .... there is really no reason to go here. I'm never coming back. read more

they do not know how to find a vein for the life of them. I got pricked with the needle in both arms just for them to tell me my veins weren't good. One lady had pricked my arm and moved the needle and my blood sprayed all over her. After that whole experience she finally got the needle in my arm. When the needle was in they were concerned because my blood was coming out to slowly and i was informing them that i was starting to get light headed and it was starting to hurt my arm. They kept on trying to readjust it and it just hurt 10x as bad, it got to the point where i started panicking and was telling them to get it out. They were telling me to calm down and theyd try again but i just wanted to go home. They finally told me they were taking it out but i wouldn't be able to come back for 2 months. It was kind of odd because they made it seem like it was my fault. Like aren't you supposed to be checking on your patients. They also just walk around and talk shit about each other damn near the whole time. I had been hooked up to the machine and it kept beeping but no one noticed, until i informed someone and they told me oh you're done. Definitely recommend Leukolab in Alameda. read more

Someone talked me into being a better person and donating plasma. I looked at all the other locations but this one seemed like the best one at the time , so I drove an hour through traffic after work to make it before 6pm to go through the new donor checklist. I completed all the steps and then when I get to the physical step, which is the last one before actually donating out of the 3hr process, they tell me I selected that I've had sexual intercourse with a man, which apparently means you can't donate. I told the worker in the beginning that I had not and I even selected it on the 65 questions test that I had not. Instead of believing me, the nurse Victoria I think, decides to make it very uncomfortable and calls in the manager to sit in the room with me and then facetimes another person to all look at the system which says I'm deferred which means I can donate. I explained that I selected no and she keeps going about how it's on me etc...but, she said it should have asked me on the test to double confirm that answer, which it didn't, and the steps that she was supposed to complete on her end wasn't working either. They try to pretend like it was a technical glitch but with the level of uncomfortablness, and the way they were trying to dance around the whole thing tells me they didn't believe me. They said supposedly corporate was going to fix it and I could come back in 6 days but no email or phone calls so that shows that they aren't going to mess with it and keep me label as deffered since their system says I had sex with men. To be clear, I have not. Anyway, supper embarrassing, awkward and not handled well at all in my opinion. I have went to donate here twice both times I have wasted gas to come and get turned away with no real explanation. The first time I went here the staff was really rude I informed her I wasn't sure when I got my tattoo and she put March 30 and told me I wouldn't be able to donate because it hasn't been 4 months since I got my tattoo. I got home provided evidence that it had been 4 months since and she told me to come back next day and they would fix it. Fast forward to today I go to donate and they tell me they cannot change what's in the system already after having already told me to come down and they would fix it. I am upset because I shuffled things around in my schedule because they said I couldn't bring my child in the first time so I made time to get there today only to be turned away and told I could not donate. read more
