In my case while I had booked the appointment in advance, the shortage of staff created some challenges and there was a very long wait time and I had to get back to work after the donation. Mayko, the manager here went out of her way to help and I was able to donate. She is an amazing person and a wonderful manager at this center. Thank you Mayko for all your support today.

I opt to donate platelets because I've had an adverse reaction to donating whole blood and my veins aren't big enough for plasma. Apheresis works well since I have small rolling veins. You have a donor arm and the other is the return. In between is a machine like a dialysis machine that extracts the platelets that look like dense scrambled eggs. Recovery time is faster for me than whole blood donation. The staff here are friendly, kind and appreciative of all the donors. Everything is sterilized well. Total time, if you do your Rapid Pass at home (questionnaire) is about 2.5 hours. Just remember to dry a lot of water the night before. Additional bonuses are you get rewarded for donating, you get an email where your plasma goes to and what type of patient received your platelets, usually, they're cancer patients. The knowledge that you helped just one person is the best reward for me.

My first Adult/Pediatric CPR AED course was at this location back in January of 2014. I believe I…read morewas in the same course as the first reviewer where the instructor was over an hour late. The environment seems questionable and the fact that roughly 10 students were waiting outside for an hour seemed even more odd. A student finally received an email for the code to enter the building and everyone seated themselves in the classroom. At 10 AM another student received an email that the instructor will be there in less than 15 minutes. Class was scheduled to begin at 9 AM. The instructor finally arrived an hour late and began passing out handbooks and setting up the classroom. 5 minutes later a student got up and hollered at the instructor that he's untrustworthy given that he arrived an hour late and should've apologized right away instead of setting up the classroom. My second course was March 2016 to renew my certification. Thankfully Janice was on time and made sure everyone knew the course agenda. She scheduled a break that would suit everyone's schedule. Overall I wouldn't recommend this location if you are being dropped off by a friend or parent. There is nothing within a reasonable walking distance if is class dismissed early. There's a Sonic, Starbucks, and McDonald's within reasonable driving distance. Plenty of time given that break is half an hour.

I came here on a Saturday morning to complete the in-class portion of the CPR/AED course. When I…read morefirst got there, I was definitely unsure where to park. I had to do a couple of loops around the building in order to find the lot. It is small and off to the left hand side if you are facing the front. The building is a bit run down and not the most aesthetically pleasing to eye but they are there as a resource so that is better than not having them at all. After parking, I had to enter from the loading dock on the back side (heads up for those interested in taking the course). I was a bit skeptical about how successful the day would be but it actually turned out great, mainly due to our instructor. Ingrid Pocock was really welcoming and patient throughout the whole class. She definitely knows what she is doing and I would highly recommend her as an instructor. She took the time to make sure that all questions were answered and that everyone could properly practice the skills for certification. She is the reason why I reviewed this place a 3/5 stars. (-2 for the building and confusion with the entrance). If this review were solely based on her skills as an instructor, I would give it a 5/5.

Just wanted to come and write a review for a Mom's Place - the breastfeeding/newborn support group…read moreled by Jennifer, the lactation consultant. Jennifer is super kind, friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable. When I had my newborn, I'd come to her weekly support group to get tips of latching, feeding, and all other baby related questions. You're able to do weighed feeds (weighing baby before and after breastfeeding) to see how much they took in. Jennifer also can help assess latch, and many moms book lactation consultant appointments with her to get 1:1 help. It was also really nice meeting new moms who had babies similar in age to mine. I was able to find my mom group through here, and now we meet up to do walks and park hangs. It's really nice that this group is offered to the community and I've found it extremely valuable for my mental health to be connected through this group. Thank you, Jennifer and PAMF for the mom's place group!

Why is it that his medical record has not been updated for more than a decade? Even in third world countries, the health care providers are the ones updating the patient records - no one expects the patients to maintain health records. I mean, sure if the patients transfers from another institution, but my dad has been with them for more than 10 years. This is ridiculous. I always have to add that the individual doctors are mostly fine, but the way they organize things is shameful for the Bay Area.

Viji is truly one of a kind. Every mother deserves someone like her by their side during their…read morebirth journey. After a traumatic first pregnancy and postpartum preeclampsia, I was considered high-risk during my second pregnancy as well. Around 32 weeks, I started seeing elevated blood pressure readings along with severe white coat syndrome. I was anxious and searching for support, and that's when I found Viji. Even before our first consultation, I had a strong feeling that she was God-sent -- a true blessing -- and that feeling only grew stronger with time. Viji stepped in with so much calm, confidence, and care. She took everything upon herself and made sure I was prepared in every possible way -- physically, mentally, and emotionally. She guided me through provider decisions, helped me find the right midwifery care, and thoughtfully connected me with an exceptional midwife, Lin Lee, who aligned perfectly with my needs. Because of Viji's discernment and support in building the right team around me, my entire experience was completely different from my first pregnancy. The birth itself felt smooth and empowering -- no tears, no episiotomy, and my blood pressure remained well controlled throughout. What truly sets Viji apart is how deeply she cares and how holistic her approach is. She took the time to understand my full medical history and personal background, worked to get to the root of my previous complications, and helped me navigate provider complexities with clarity and confidence. She also combined her Jyotish knowledge to help identify the most supportive and auspicious timing for my induction, which brought me an incredible sense of peace and trust going into labor. During labor, Viji was there through it all. She supported me with Ayurvedic care, calming massages, constant reassurance, and gentle guidance. She made sure I was comfortable, grounded, and never felt alone. She even stayed with me through the entire night -- watching over me, advocating for me, and helping me make important decisions when I was exhausted and vulnerable. Because of Viji, my second birth experience became healing, empowering, and beautiful. She didn't just help me prepare for birth -- she helped me heal from my past experience and trust my body again. I will always be grateful for her presence, her wisdom, and the love she brought into one of the most important moments of my life. I thank God every day for leading me to her at exactly the right time.

I first came to Viji as a very anxious and overwhelmed mother, desperately trying to stay afloat in the struggles of parenthood. At the time, I had no idea what I was getting into, but I just knew I needed help. From day one, Viji completely blew me away with her depth of knowledge, insight, and intuition. Beyond that, she is incredibly caring and consistently goes above and beyond to support her clients. Through our work together, I've gained a deeper understanding of my inner makeup, which has empowered me to take greater control of my life and has profoundly impacted how I show up as a mother and wife. My mind was truly blown when she began incorporating Ayurveda and Jyotish (Vedic Astrology) to help explain what I was experiencing physically, emotionally, and energetically, and to guide how I move through my life. I have also integrated therapeutic bodywork and the Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) into my work with Viji, which has only deepened the healing process. The way she thoughtfully weaves together her diverse offerings is incredible and deeply supportive. She is truly a one-stop shop for healing on every level. I am deeply grateful for the care, insight, and dedication she has brought to my journey. Viji is absolutely amazing, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. My only regret is not starting this work with her sooner.
