I'm currently sitting here waiting for 45 minutes just to do intake. I was the 3rd person through the door. Ppl are just walking around singing and cross contaminating wearing the same gloves to touch doors and everything else. Got me nervous. The initial young lady that assisted was quick and efficient! I have been coming to CSL plasma for about 5 years now. The reason for a 3 star and not a 5 star is they are getting cheap. They started a new program of height / weight for your plasma donation and now they take more plasma and give you less money for your donation. I was told I have to gain 30 pounds to get what I used to get for the last 5 years and gave less plasma, so now I have to be overweight. Also I just noticed that they do not give you 100 point for your donation anymore, just 5 points if you fill out the survey. With the prices of everything going up, what is there excuse to take more plasma and pay you less? I do want to say the people there (except a very few) work very hard and are very friendly. They seemed to be under staffed all the time also. read more

. I might have come at the wrong time but they didn't have many people in line, so I was surprised at how long it took for someone to wait on me at the front desk. It must have taken 30 but Once I got waited on everything ran smoothly. The nurse was exceptionally professional. The entire staff was courteous friendly and nice, some in training which is understandable. My only complaint was the fact it took sooo long to start , Then I was never told as a new donor I was entitled to be first in line.I felt a lot of wasted time which wasn't necessary.No one seems to run the front desk and apparently nobody wants too!! Great place, everyone is great,been going a year now.Very friendly,they know me by name.Someone gave there blood back in 2002 and it saved my life,so giving back is very necessary for me,thank you CSL and staff for being essential to our life. read more

So everyone in the front was very nice, or at least professional. It was my first time there and I was in a pickle and really needed money. In Slidell they pay you $200 for your plasma but at CSL you can get $105 if you give twice. Anyways the place was very clean. However I was there for two hours go through the process and when I FINALLY got to the back the lady looked at my arms for about 5 seconds and said I didn't have veins in the right area. Kinda found that odd as the very next day I went to the Dr for blood work and that nurse popped me on the very first stick. I feel like the lady at CSL didn't see obvious veins and just didn't even want to try. I'm undecided if I will ever try there again. read more

I lost $20 in fees because of the stupid bank they use. I tried sending the amount I was paid to bank and it kept failing and each time it charged me $.55, when I tried lower amounts there was a $1.00 fee for successful transactions. So stupid they don't do direct deposit or give you a check. read more

Me and me lady came here today to donate Plasma for the second time. Essentially, you get compensated 50 dollars the first five times you donated if it is in a 30 day period. Good cause and it doesn't hurt to get paid, eh? Donating itself usually takes 30 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on different variables such as how your veins are. (Obviously, if you used to shoot up drugs, then it'll take longer) The first time we went to get signed up, the process took about three hours plus the donation itself. Medical questionnaire, video you have to watch, and a short physical. Should that process of taken so long? No. Why? Because they were apparently "training new nurses". I could literally hear them talking in the closed exam room and they were just BSing around. Considering how I was sitting there for 30 minutes alone on them, I wasn't happy. Then, my super hero came in. I waved down a nurse. I can't think of her name now, but she's a shorter black woman with blonde in her hair. One of the sweetest ladies I've ever met! She apologized for me having to wait for so long, got me into the other exam room, and was done with it within five minutes. Shout out to the younger phlebotomist who did my first donation. I think can't of his name either (See how bad I am with names?), but he's probably early 20's, white, average height, with a very goofy personality. Being my first time, he explained to me how the entire process worked, what to expect, etc. Both times I've gone to donate this, I've overheard him do the same for every new person. I don't think I can say the same for any other worker there. Another shout out to the lead nurse lady (can't think of her actual title nor name), she was very helpful as well with my sign up process. Finally, not a big deal, but one of their employees literally had a grill in his mouth while working. Not a complaint, as so much more kind of funny. Don't they have a dress code? Haha. I suppose my overall experience wasn't awful. If all of their employees were as nice and fun as the three I just mentioned, then this place would of gotten 4 or 5 stars. Sadly, you have people that are just rude. It happens! Anyway, if you're looking to do some good and need some extra gas money, this is certainly a good way to do so. (For those of you that don't know, plasma is the liquid in your blood that essentially holds the blood cells, it's used in every day medicine, emergencies and surgical medicine to treat stuff like Burns, shock, major surgery, animal bites, etc.) It can take as many as 130 plasma donations to manufacture enough therapy for just ONE patient. I believe this is the only one in the area, so consider checking it out! :) read more

The staff at this CSL is overworked and understaffed. They are always frustrated and rude. When the manager, Stan is there people act better. They are slow to screen and slow to get you hooked up and slow to Disconnect. The parking is atrocious. The location should be moved to a bigger place with more parking. Octapharma needs a location here. They'd put CSL out of business. Night and day customer service. Without donors, they don't have a job. But they treat people like crap. read more

there was a guy in there while me and my friend was there and purposely COUGHED on us without a mask as he walked by ,I had to tell the security guard who did nothing but let the man stay in the building but put in a mask,so we decided to leave and as we was leaving the guy started yelling from the door we was lying all the time the security guard was there,this is crazy read more

The center has recently changed management and now things seem to be getting a lot better. The staff seems to care about their job more now than they ever did. Everyone seems to be happy when you go in to donate. There is also more Management presence in the center and they seem to care about what is going on. read more

This happened yesterday to a dear friend of mind. Here's her experience she has a physical disability like a palsy of some sort but she walks without any assistance of a cane or walker. She's actually super strong and a very physically fit. She swims, dies Zumba, yoga, and weight lifts very heavily almost everyday. So this happening to her is mind boggling and oh yes she is reporting this to ADA.gov for being an Americans with Disabilities Act Violation. Here's here account: I'm not usually a complainer but I have to say something about csl plasma donation center in Gulfport. .. today I went to donate with my daughter . I was 3 hours into the first time Donner process. .. got to the physical exam part and the nurse says ok you need get up on the exam table by yourself no step stool ok I tried couldn't do it like most folks yada yada. ... Anyway the nurse said you can't donate until you can get on the table by yourself but if you come back and can do it you won't have to start the whole 3 hour process again.. so with Serenas ideas and my thoughts (after being flabbergasted that they didn't have a stool any where! ) anyway I asked to try again and I climbed up on the table my way. .. and the woman who earlier told me that I would be able to donate said no you still can't donate because you can't get up there the right way????? Then she said don't you feel embarrassed by the way have to get up there? ???, of course I said no I'm not embarrassed I got over that. ... I just do what I gotta do!!!! Then she said I deferred your visit which means you have to start all over!!!! Also if want to try again take this form to your doctor and have her fill this out saying you are physically capable to give plasma wtf!!!!! This for me was a little about the money but mostly about hanging with my kid and helping others. .. I'm astounded that this is considered ok behavior in anywhere? ?? But especially in a place that exists because of volunteers. .. so if you're thinking of giving plasma and have any physical limatations, you might want to rethink. .. Thanks for reading.... read more
