Experience with Amro Construction…read more We contracted Amro Construction late in July about our need for some structural upgrades to the main entrance deckway and complete renovations of the two main floor bathrooms. We received their proposal in mid-August and after clarifying some details, work began two weeks later. Amro did a very solid job of scheduling the various outside resources they needed to use. The support trades they enlisted: vinyl decking installer, tile installer, electricians, painters, insulators and plumbers displayed the same work ethic and service orientation that the business partners do. Amro also recommended to us a number of suppliers: cabinet makers, flooring and tile suppliers that they had worked with successfully in the recent past and then looked after ordering and coordination of deliveries. The dedication, attention to detail and follow-up by the lead hand they assigned to our job was critical to Amro successfully delivering the kind of results they offered and we needed. The final phase of the work to be completed, the main ensuite bathroom, was available for use on November 11, ten weeks after work began. When Amro's final invoice arrived four weeks after job completion, there were no surprises. The invoice detailed the several scope adjustments that had been encountered, discussed and authorized in advance. Nothing was billed that we had not previously agreed to. We found the Amro team extremely service-oriented and personable, very diligent in follow-up exhibiting a very high work ethic. We had a general vision of how we wanted the bathrooms to look after renovation but not hard details. Amro's team, with their extensive experience, was able to suggest alternatives for our consideration and then we decided which way to proceed. We are very pleased with the outcome. I replaced 2 sliding glass doors with the screens to have the thicker "pet" screen material. PnR's quote was the most reasonable of 5 that I received. A little wait time from order to install (~3 months) but the install went smoothly and the finishing touches look great! The techs went the extra mile and re-screened a small window using material from one of the old screen doors. A small adjustment was completed the same day I called it in.

Carpentry and painting done by a handyman, not a professional and it showed. Charged me for work not done Fortunately, the subtrades, electrician , plumber, and the cabinetry maker and their installers were professionals and did good work. I felt pushed and bullied by the contractor himself. He ended up ghosting me, and I had to call the original designer to help me have work I'd paid for completed. The review by "Hannah" is suspect, as his partner (now since moved on) had the very same name!

They weren't the cheapest quote but they certainly weren't the most expensive by several thousand dollars - and I really liked the look of their walk-in showers. I worked with David, the owner and Loree, the office manager, both were professional and pleasant to deal with - and what they promised, they delivered. They also gave excellent advice on what would work best in my small bathroom. The shower was installed this week on time and with a minimum of fuss even with a slight hiccup in the installation of the sliding door. All the trades people who came to work over the four days were on time, professional and competent. Cannot recommend this company highly enough. Five stars.
