Wonderful!
I wanted to update my tired, 40-year old kitchen. I took photos and measurements into CSD Kitchen last spring without an appointment. Andrew approached me and said he was finishing up another appointment, but could meet with me in about 20 minutes. Within 30 minutes, Andrew sat with me and helped design a new kitchen layout for me. He estimated the cost of cabinets I had picked out in the store and granite countertops (based on a 30% special available to their customers). I was stunned at how reasonable the estimate was. I thought for sure I'd pay at least $5,000.00-10,000.00 more.
I made an appointment for Andrew to come out and confirm my kitchen measurements. I took home a sample cabinet piece to show my husband. He really liked the cabinet style and he agreed the estimate was very reasonable. Within one week (with my husband available) Andrew visited our home, measured our kitchen and confirmed the estimate. My husband and I signed the paperwork for CSD to do our renovation. Andrew advised that the installers would also come out and confirm all measurements before the materials were ordered. Several days later, the installers confirmed the measurements, and my cabinets were ordered. My husband and I went to their granite yard to pick out our granite, carrying a cabinet sample with us. A very helpful gentlemen (who works regularly with CSD) knew we were coming and helped us choose a beautiful dark gray/black granite. Our granite order went to CSD that day and we setup our kitchen installation for six weeks later.
Six weeks later, our old cabinets were removed and the new cabinets were installed in less than two days. The granite vendor came over to take a template of the countertops on the second day of the cabinet installation. CSD coordinated this effort to limit the total time we had to do without a fully working kitchen, which I greatly appreciated. The following day, our plumber installed the sink and dishwasher. Several days later, the granite countertops were installed. The total time we were technically without a working kitchen was no more than seven days. Even still, we were able to use the cabinets right after they were installed by putting up some pieces of plywood as makeshift countertops. So, we did have limited use of our kitchen for 5 of the 7 days.
We had electrical, plumbing, and tile work done by other contractors. Fortunately for us, they all did a terrific job. While this pushed up the total cost of installation, the basic cabinet and countertop prices and installation services from CSD could not be beat by anyone in the area. Trust me. I looked elsewhere. I tried.
Did I mention that CSD provides FREE DESIGN CONSULTATION? Yes, they do.
Most cabinet retailers will not even measure your kitchen, so the risk is yours alone of buying the wrong cabinet size(s). CSD will design your layout, come to your home, and confirm your kitchen measurements - twice. They will tell you things you need to consider that you never knew. For example, Andrew knew the standard measurements for a refrigerator, but our old kitchen had a smaller refrigerator with a smaller, non-standard opening. He advised us to upsize the opening to fit a standard refrigerator. Then he recalibrated our design and cabinets to accommodate a standard refrigerator size in the future. I could not find anyone else willing to do all that without paying them extra money up front.
I totally recommend CSD Kitchen and Bath in Brick. My experience with them was completely positive and I love my new kitchen. read more
