"Music is powerful. As people listen to it, they can be affected. They respond." Plato…read more As a young child I can remember that that the only thing that quelled my crying was music. My parents put those huge Hi Fi stereo headphones over my ears. Thus the love of music began. I have always created a song in my head. Constantly humming and dancing to all sorts of different sounds of music make me happy. For the love of music and video of you have not visited a Zia's you have never lived. Stop in here for all sorts of music. Are you looking for something hard to find? Perhaps vintage vinyl. They have it all. In all sorts of price ranges. The categories are endless. So many bins of music and movies. Are you a fan of reading they even keep a small library of books. Not as many books as years prior. The printed version of books are a dying breed. We need to keep places like this alive so come and visit and buy your music locally than online. Support your local record store. Who remembers Tower Records? We all know what happened to this record store. Here we go with music. It quells the anger and pain that comes with life . You can listen and enjoy life without being anxious or afraid. Turn up and tune in your favorite band . These days it's all digital music. Does anyone buy records or vinyl any more. Mine do! Enlighten oneself? Could you image a world without all the immediate images and details that are available on your phone . Wow, I'm going to take it back. In my day, we had the start of the cell phone it was huge and had to be carried in a bag. There was no plug and go from home . If you wanted the album you had to go to the Zia's and buy it. Sometimes we even stood in line to buy an album . My my how times have changed? These days I have passed my love of music to my children. Actually, they visit their local Zia's more than I do . Remember to listen and share the love of music with all those around you . These days you can make someone's heart sing with the gift of tunes. Let the world be yours find your sound track here. Let's go ! La La La La that tune and sound plays again and again in your head. It's your favorite song and you can hum and dance to it . It's because of Zia's, our beloved music store still that we can have the "hard copy," of our favorite songs . Continue to be you. Burst out in song and dance as often as you can. Music sets your mood and keeps the beats of your heart in balance . Turn it up let's go and dance.

If you're a heavy metal fan, you've heard of Metal Blade Records. It was one of the first labels…read morethat truly catered to this genre of music, featuring many of the best in the industry. When I heard Metal Blade founder/CEO Brian Slagel had moved to Vegas and opened a booth in the Antique Mall of America, I knew it was a place I wanted to check out. I've been a handful of times in recent years. The Antique Mall of America is HUGE, so just finding this place is a bit of a chore; it doesn't help that the outdoor strip mall where the facility is located is largely abandoned. Once you get inside there are a ton of vendors and twists and turns, but believe me, if you're a metal fan like I am, it's worth looking for. The Metal Blade store is technically THREE different kiosks in the mall. The two main ones are adjacent from one another, with one being mostly shirts/clothing, and the other being mainly CDs and vinyl releases. A third booth (located in a different part of the mall) mostly consists of hockey jerseys/related clothing/etc. While I'm admittedly not a sports fan, it was cool to see that the latter kiosk wasn't just limited to Golden Knights stuff. A divers selection is always a good thing. Those two main booths I mentioned before are where I spent most of my time. The shirts and such are offered for fair prices which is a nice change from the overpriced swag sold at concerts. And the vinyl and CD selection is nice too, including many vinyl LPs newly reissued by Metal Blade, not to mention a nice grab bag of assorted CDs. I walked away with two T-shirts and a 2CD Deep Purple set that was fairly cheap. The only issues I really have with this shop stem from the space, or rather, a lack thereof. Having booths in an antique mall isn't the same as having a standalone store, hence the lack of space and merch. I'm hoping Mr. Slagel can give us an independent store one way, possibly as part of the Metal Blade Museum that should be opening here in Vegas soon. Metal fans shouldn't hesitate to check Slagel's wares here out. It's a little tricky to find and on the small side, but worth it.

This is a story of a villain named Legacybox and a hero named Peterson's Video Transfer…read more(specifically George) that came to the rescue. As tech people, we wanted to transfer our old reel-to-reel tapes to digital, and we naturally wanted to use the company that's all over Facebook and Instagram with their cutting-edge business model that makes it convenient to just put everything in a box. We paid $659.15, put them in the Legacybox, waited a month, and then received the box back with stickers on every tape that said: We wanted to let you know that one or more of your analog media items arrived with some pre-existing wear and tear. We did everything we could, but unfortunately we were unable to convert it. They didn't look damaged to us, and we were disappointed. After two weeks, we didn't receive a refund so we engaged in a one month battle to get our money back, only to receive all but $153.57, which they retained for "shipping and labor". So apparently the price for nothing is $153.57, but it makes sense that if the tapes are damaged, then the problems were beyond their control. Just to be sure, we brought the box into Peterson's Video Transfer, and surprise surprise, none of the tapes were damaged and the resulting quality is fantastic. Beyond the convenience of just dropping off and picking up a box, the customer service that George provided was outstanding. He used special software to painstakingly adjust the speed depending on the tape reel size, he organized the folder of files with helpful names, and he was generally pleasant and supportive. With George's help, we unearthed buried treasure and will live happily ever after!

Fast and friendly. The results were great, too. They restored a video that was over 30 years old.read more

The family still and has always enjoyed Barnes and Noble bookstores. While this is a smaller store, with no cafe; it's a great place. For the love of reading. Every time we come here it's always nice to take home new books and other trinkets. The twins love Barnes and Noble and shared this experience together with me . For now they are grown and after being home schooled they still read! Wow and prefer an actually book . At every turn this bookstore has to use their space wisely and controlled . Although it's small they use the space wisely. The displays are not overly crowded but are more creative. You have to browse and stand around there is not much wiggle room. The selection of books is much smaller than other larger stores. The selections are primarily based on what's popular or perhaps a combination between classic and contemporary books. The children's books for younger readers is smaller too but well stocked. Many small gift are all over the store to tempt and encourage your purchase. The staff is nothing but amazing ! They go way beyond what is required to make your day glimmer. Thank you for your service and dedication to your work . Time to take home our purchase to read !

Love, love, love how physical books are becoming a thing!…read more This location provides an ample amount of literature to peruse, and I don't mind the organization. It can get crowded, but that's to be expected for being located in Town Square. Not why I'm giving this Barnes & Noble a high rating though. It's always about the staff for me.... I had ordered books through my Barnes & Noble app for pick-up at this location, since they had the titles I wanted in stock. However, all the titles in stock were in paperback. It only took a day for the location to put my order together, which was nice, and I got the alert on my app and email. At pick-up I look at my ordered stack, and my heart just drops because it really bothers me my set is mismatched. The sales rep looks at me humorously, then my stack, and straight up asked "Is it bothering you that these aren't all paperbacks?" LOL. The hubby laughs, and admits it for me. Instead of making fun of me, she shows her equally nerdy side, empathizing with me! She quickly offers to return the single hardback of my series, and adds my contact information to a list of when my single item gets replenished in the correct form (paperback). Yes! There was more to the conversation, but I just appreciated how intuitive and friendly she was. It's not just her either -- the whole team at this location operate at the same high level of customer service. Again, it's just from my personal observances on multiple visits. Love my fellow book nerds.

I asked questions, she responded with platitudes. No insight whatsoever. While the store is nice and staff were friendly. I think the business has some responsibility to hire people who actually do psychic readings, not just engage in friendly "elevator" conversation. My reading was a waste of money and I felt duped for paying for it. Beware. If you want a psychic reading, get a recommendation. Don't trust a business like this. We all work too hard for our money to waste it. This experience made me angry.
