Kay Jewelers - This is the second time the ring bent, two weeks after having it repaired. December 2020.

My now husband proposed to me with this beautiful kay ring in May 2019. In March 2020, my ring bent…read morefor no apparent reason. We really dont know how it happened! I just struggled to get it off and once I got it off, we saw that it was bent. Being in March, we were unable to get it to Kay's for repairs because of COVID restrictions. When we called Kay's about it, they asked us for our information and told us that they'd notify is when the store was back in business to repair. Fast forward to November, we still hadn't heard anything. We were able to get a hold of a Kay's representative and they told us that they were open for repair and had been for some time. I was a little disappointed we couldn't get the ring in sooner, but that's okay. My husband drove to another town (because they Kay's in our town closed) and dropped off the ring. We were told that they would call us when it was ready. They never did. We ended up calling them and they told us that ring had been sitting at the store for several days. No big deal, mistakes happen. We picked up the ring on December 6, 2020. On December 20, 2020, the ring was bent again, but in a different spot. I was pissed, to say the least. The ring shouldn't bend from regular wear and tear after two weeks of having it. Upon talking to Kay's, they offered to repair it once again, but not replace it because it's been over a year since my husband bought it. I have begged them to reset the diamond because I fully believe the metal in this ring is at fault. But they said, "we will assess it" and have taken it in to repair it once again. They haven't been very helpful what's so ever. And were not very nice when I asked if I could have it reset. I talked to the people in store and I talked to people from cooperate on the phone. I was willing to give them a chance, but I'm disappointed to say that I will NEVER buy any form of jewlry from them again. I will NEVER recommend Kay's to anyone.

No worries, he's a friendly and respectful guy, but I thought it worth mentioning in case of allergies. He's often asleep in the front window or nestled in a corner somewhere. She has a note on the door warning guests of his presence before they enter. Her shop has a good selection of various items, from man-tiques to jewelry and silver. I've always enjoyed shopping here, but it should be noted, Susan can take some time to warm up to you. The first few times I came in, she was brusque and mostly stayed at the register. Now that we've gotten to know each other better, she will regularly come out and help me with things in various vendor's booths around the store. She seems knowledgeable about her trade. A quick note: Her husband's locksmith business has a service counter located in the back of the store, and I wanted to mention an exchange I witnessed that affected my experience in her shop one time. One of my buddies came in to the antique store with me, and when he saw the locksmith counter in the back, asked her husband a few questions about having another key made for an oddball brand lock he uses. The husband was cold and bordering on rude about my friend's use of that brand of lock, because key blanks are hard to get for it. He was loud enough I could hear their exchange from up in the antique shop. It made my shopping experience up in the antique store uncomfortable that day. He's not usually in at the locksmith counter when I go antique shopping, but that experience that day certainly left an impression. This is the only thing holding me back from an even better review.
