I first found the salon in an online search, and I thought it looked really interesting because they use organic, natural products. Then I noticed the reviews were great, so I scheduled an appointment online. As it got closer to the date, I thought I'd check to see if there were any openings, and I was fortunate to get an appointment for the next day with Malissa. Malissa is wonderful. She first asked what I had in mind for a cut, and since I'm clueless as to what looks good on me, I asked for her opinion, which she offered and I agreed with her. I go to sit down at the hair washing station, and I noticed how COMFORTABLE it is. It's at a little higher level, so I don't feel like I have to hold myself up to keep my neck from hurting. Then, as she's washing my hair, she starts massaging my head, which felt great! We get back to the seat, and as she's cutting my hair, we chat. She is very easy to talk with, very informative on her products, the layout of her salon, etc. It was completely comfortable chatting with her. I LOVE the haircut and style she gave me. I told her how much I don't like to use product in my hair, so she styles me the way I would myself. As she turns me around to look at the back, I realize how much I love this cut. I barely had to say two words, and she figured out what looked good on me, and what I would like. I have to say, I think she's amazing. I'm looking forward to my next visit. I do like my haircut and I'd probably pay to have a coffee with Sam as much as have my hair done by her, but my very basic cut/clean-up trim was $165. Update after owner response:…read more I want to clarify a few things in response to the owner's reply, because it does not reflect what happened. The conversation that led to this situation was not started by me. While I was in the chair, the discussion had already shifted into conspiracy topics. A client then came in and brought up the Israeli prime minister and his cancer, making comments expressing happiness about it. The tone of the conversation included laughter and engagement from others around, which made it extremely uncomfortable to sit through. As a Jewish customer, I felt put in a very difficult position, especially being mid-service and unable to simply step away. The direction of the conversation is what led me to speak up and say that I'm Jewish and that I didn't agree, even though I was genuinely nervous to do so. When I said that, there was a visible shift, people were caught off guard, apologized, and said they don't hate Jews, they "just hate him." That does not change what was said or how it came across in that moment. The owner was the one cutting my hair and was part of the conversation. When I said I needed to leave, I was already overwhelmed and in a state of panic. My hair was not finished, and I had to ask for clips to be removed so I could go. I then found myself at a locked door and had to wait to be let out, which added to the distress of the situation. I do want to be clear that I did verbally express myself strongly toward the end. I'm not denying that. My reaction came after everything I had just experienced, not before. The owner's response mentions creating a safe environment and staff feeling uncomfortable. I did not create that situation, I reacted to it. I was the one sitting in the chair while this conversation was happening around me. After I spoke up, the response included references to "Jewish support groups" and comparisons between Jewish people and the queer community that felt dismissive and out of place given the context.

I walked into a calm, relaxing atmosphere. Once you exit the lobby area and go to the back, the lights are dim. The changing area was clean, there was a locker to put my personal belongs in, and the robe and sandals were super comfy. There was a shower and a toilet and a waiting area outside the restroom with an electric fireplace on the wall. The massage itself was super relaxing and enjoyable. The woman who did my massage spoke softly asking me what areas I'd like her to focus on and what would be included in my massage. She gave me clear direction and privacy. She was firm, and worked out a knot in my shoulder and did a full body massage. There was calming music playing softly. At the end, they gave me a cup of tea to drink while I changed. I was not rushed in the beginning or the end. I would absolutely love to come here again one day for another massage. I was escorted to the women's locker room and I was asked if I would like to take a shower before starting my massage session. I took my hot shower and used their toiletries (body wash, shampoo and conditioner) plus their velvety brown robe plus their black sandals. My masseuse was Eddie and he played my ocean wave music and used the white ginger lotion that I picked for my massage. Eddie was very professional and I enjoyed his 60 minutes deep tissue massage . My nails were absolutely butchered by this place. Called requesting to book a soak off of an old…read moreset of acrylics, which they confirmed. Instead of my acrylics safely being soaked and removed carefully, the nail tech used a plastic nail extension to slide between my real and fake nails to pull and pry them off. This was incredibly painful, and resulted in many layers being unnecessarily pried off of my natural nails. The nail tech also sliced into my real nail doing this, cutting me beneath my nail and making me bleed. Nothing was done or said, nothing was cleaned or replaced. In the end, I left with a cut deep beneath my nailbed, deeply damaged nails, and with a TON of polymer left on my nails and around my cuticles from this hack-job. Absolutely horrible experience. Will never be coming back, and will be warning everyone to avoid this place!!
