This is a mail order review!…read more Do you want home grown produce but you have a small yard or don't want the hassle of dealing with tilling and soil composition. Or maybe you live in a condo/apartment or rent and you can't just dig up the yard. Well if you said yes to any of these you definitely want to get some Earthboxes! I first purchased my boxes over 7 years ago. I rent a home with a large yard and although my landlord does not mind my digging things up or adding things to the home or yard I didn't want to deal with it all. Plus I figured the dogs would get into it. I was already using regular pots for cherry tomatoes and peppers but nothing big could be grown. So I was totally excited when I first got my Earthboxes and saw how much more I was able to plant and harvest. This is the easiest way to start your own garden whether its produce, herbs or flowers. There is minimal assembly involved. One Earthbox comes with fertilizer, dolomite, and the accessories for your box. All you need to get from your local garden shop is soil and seed/seedling of your choice. Once you have it set up all you need to do is give it water and allow for it to get a lot of sun! It's as simple as that. When the season ends all you do is remove a small part of soil where the fertilizer was and replace that and seed it with something new. The boxes are made with really sturdy and strong material. Even after 7 years I have not seen a crack or any type of fading. In the beginning I planted and things like Corn, Watermelons, Cabbage but I have since stuck with Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Okra, Eggplants and Green beans. I have also planted lettuce and broccoli during the winter months. I luv watching the seeds pop up from the dirt and grow into its full glory of yummy produce! I recently purchased a staking kit for my tomato and cucumber boxes. In the past I was using a trellis that I purchased at the local store. It worked fine but I wanted something that was more stable and connected to the boxes. Also for my tomato and cucumbers I decided to use coconut fiber instead of soil this year and grown organic. Coconut coir is a different medium and supposedly allows for easy rooting. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out. The nursery I purchased it from won't let me return it since it's "used," and earth box won't pay for shipping costs to return it directly to them. The Earthbox is huge and would cost a fortune to ship, and would be a pain to package. But when I've voiced these concerns, not to mention the cost if the plants I lost, they completely ignored me- twice-and just kept telling me to ship it back.

They removed two trees and trimmed another, and honestly left our yard cleaner than when they arrived. While trimming, they noticed signs of disease in one of our trees and took the time to explain what might be going on. They even offered to have their specialist come out to take a closer look and provide expert advice -- which we really appreciated. They also walked us through the pros and cons of trimming versus removing two trees that were getting too large for the space. There was never any pressure, just honest, helpful information so we could make the best decision for our yard. Overall, it was a wonderful experience from a company that clearly takes pride in their work and cares about their customers. I would absolutely recommend Bob Stoudt to anyone needing tree removal or maintenance!

We've bought seedlings of all sorts here, and never had a problem transplanting them in the garden. And the houseplants I've gotten recently were healthy and pest-free. My new purple clematis is also doing really well! If you're looking for perennials, most of them are outside on the display tables. Indoors, you'll find more annuals and houseplants that need a bit more controlled humidity and warmth. There are tree saplings out back and more greenhouses to check out. There's even a small furniture shop upstairs. The shop inside is full of quirky products, and as always, super fun to browse or pick out seed packets to try germinating at home. Staff are really friendly and know their stuff. If you're having trouble finding something, they can point you in the right direction or place an order for something that's not in stock. This year we decided to get it delivered since we no longer have access to a truck. Delivery was only $15 extra. I'd like to say that process was seamless but sadly it wasn't. After seeing Landy Shade deliver mulch to 2 of my neighbors and seeing them place it on the street suddenly when I suggested it there was a problem. Ultimately, after speaking with a manager they did honor my request. However the whole process took longer than it should of. I wasn't home when it was delivered and honestly it didn't appear to be a full 3.5 scoops. I called and a manager was to stop by and look but he never knocked so not sure if he did. In the end I had to trust that they did drop off the 3.5 scoops I was billed for. 4 stars because we do like the rich color of their black mulch and never had a negative experience before this one. Their mushroom soil is also an asset to any garden. I would however caution anyone that gets delivery to make plans to be home to: 1) check quantity 2) confirm where it should be dropped. Moving forward we'll borrow a truck and only do pickup.
