However, you have to keep bleaching to keep the roots fresh and color grey hairs. My hair was dry and brassy, needed dimensions, deep conditioning, and toning. I needed a lowlight or reverse bayalage. I checked Groupons to save money but sometimes you're not getting their best work because it's cheaper and they're not getting as much money or sometimes they charge more for long hair etc. I even got turned away by one color expert called "Hair by Christopher" on Groupons who told me after looking at pictures of my hair, he responded "It's more work than I want to take on.I don't feel comfortable taking it on. Sorry." He claims he a color expert and had good reviews but he was not compassionate nor caring about my situation. Anyways, I checked yelp instead. I reached out to as many stylists I could that would respond right away, educate me, would answers my questions and had good reviews. I wasn't sure if anyone was going to be able to save my hair but I knew I needed lowlights and never had one plus I didn't want to lose all my highlights either. Vivian knew what I needed and what I wanted after communicating with her and sending pics etc. She wanted to work with me and gave me a better deal than Groupon and most stylists. She listened. She wanted to help me. I trusted my instincts and she made my hair look better than I imagined. You can see for yourself. She's efficient, unbelievable at multitasking, and is a hard worker. She doesn't waste your time and her attention is on your hair at all times. She saved me. I am ever so thankful for her. I would refer her to everyone. She doesn't overcharge. She helped save me from hundreds of dollars.

I went to Jess with the goal of growing my hair out for my wedding and WOW I wish I'd found her sooner because not only did she help me achieve growing out my hair, she also gave me beautiful highlights (which I was afraid to get at first) and NEVER got cut happy with me (meaning she never cut too much). I moved out of state before my wedding but was dedicated to Jess and the process we started, so when I had a couple of opportunities to go back to California, I made SURE to have an appointment booked with her. Friday was my first time going to Crystal and it was honestly the most incredible experience I've had. I went in for a cut and colour since it was a little birthday gift for myself. I found her way back when she was working at Main Place, I ended up following her on Instagram. She is such a sweet person and very caring too. She always made sure I was comfortable and she also is really great to talk too. One thing I loved about going to her is the fact that she gave me step by step on what she was doing. She gave me tips on how I can grow my hair a bit longer and how to take care of the colour so it doesn't wash out (I dyed my hair red in case you were wondering.) I really cannot wait to go back to her in a few weeks. Definately will recommend to anyone looking for a new look! read more

I was referred to Crystal by a friend. I had recently gotten my hair done and I was a mess of blonde and orange hair with the initial intention of having purple hair. I was eager to get my hair redone. I explained to her what I wanted, what my expectations were. She was very thorough in explaining what would happen with a "fashion color" what I would need to do and how often I would need to retouch. We decided I was too low maintenance for all that. I wanted to share my honest experience because my recent visit was pretty disappointing. The main…read moreissue was that the hair service itself just didn't turn out as requested and fell short of expectations. On top of that, sitting in the chair felt pretty awkward towards the end--there was a clear, unsettling tension between the stylist and her assistant while my hair was being done that made the appointment uncomfortable to sit through. Given she was working on my self and 1 other client at the same time. When I messaged her privately to share how things went and how unsatisfied I was with my hair, her reply felt a bit defensive & dismissive. I waited a week to decide to speak up or make any remarks regarding my service in hopes that I just had to period of adjusting to my hair. Instead of fully understanding my concerns about the service, she gave explanations and shifted focus on justifying the dynamic with her assistant and offered a 25% refund ($38.75) for a $150+ service. While I did not expect a full refund as she still did render services, I at least would have appreciate a refund for half my service. Given the outcome of my hair and the overall experience, that refund felt unfair and sadly the response from her was just not as anticipated. I already make the 40 minute drive to come down here since I've had a great experience before so I couldn't justify coming back down to do any adjustments given the experience. I had to go somewhere local to adjust my face framed curtain bangs as walking around with hair that makes you feel uncomfortable is a horrible feeling. That alone was $40 to adjust on top of what was spent here. It's tough when you decide to speak out about your experience directly with any stylist and get met with defensive or unexpected responses. I sadly won't be returning, as I grew my hair out for 7 months and decided to come here just to be met with a unsatisfied outcome and even worse response to my experience. Overall more disappointed and saddened by this than angry. I wish it could have gone a lot better.
