Dr. Ashitey is intelligent, witty, and takes the time to understand your concerns and is always cognizant of any needs and concerns. This is just one instance where you are in need and they do everything they can to take care of you. he gives you all your options so that you can do what's best for you and your pocket. They really take time and sit with you to answer all your questions and give you the long term plan. I've never felt hassled to have work done here, it's always here's your options- do it on your time. These are real down to earth and fun people. You can't find that often! The facility is very clean, the staff are knowledgeable and I have always received quality care. As you can imagine, that avoidance resulted in my needing an embarrassing amount of work. After having another dentist refuse to root canal the tooth she filled that remained painfully temperature-sensitive for MONTHS after the filling, Dr. Chowning gave me my root canal and all was well in my world. I felt zero pain during the procedure, and was actually kind of intrigued by the whole process. I even got to watch the machine cut out my new tooth! Hahaha. But since then, I've had some other work done there and I never feel like I'm being taken to the cleaners. It's also worth noting that he's had the exact same staff the entire five years I've been a patient. They've added a few people, but I don't think anyone has quit. No one ever seems stressed out or unhappy, which speaks volumes of the boss man, if you ask me. And the relaxed atmosphere goes a long way when you're at the dentist's office; anxiety is contagious. The mint on the pillow, though, is that they give you your own tube of lip balm for pretty much every procedure. They're just too great. I no longer hate the dentist.

I had never seen Dr. Kim before, but despite being a new patient, he got me in within 2 hours of calling and saw me at 9PM (yes, that late!). He and his assistant were so caring and skilled that this horrible experience wasn't nearly as horrible as it could have been. They stayed until almost midnight working on this stubborn, sadistic tooth. It was such a relief to finally have this tooth extracted. It was my first time ever having an extraction, so I was nervous, especially being at a brand new place. Dr. Kim quickly assuaged my concerns. He shares an office space with Starlite dental (ironic since he is my new favorite night dentist). The office is clean, has TVs on the ceiling and is well-appointed. I look forward to checking out his practice during regular business hours to pamper my better behaved teeth. I was thrilled to know he does normal dental work, as well. Besides being awesome at dentistry, he is also an awesome person. My dental insurance was maxed out, so the timing for this ordeal couldn't be worse (especially since I was due to leave on a trip the next morning). He charged me less than what I would have expected to pay WITH insurance. He shared a little about why he started this after hours business, and it boiled down to him wanting to provide excellent care when people needed it without them having to bankrupt themselves to pay for it. He's amazing. 10/10 highly recommend 1010 dental.

This was a refreshing change from other dental work experiences I've had in town! I also appreciated the financial transparency from the very beginning, no veiled charges/no surprises/no pushing for extra expensive procedures.
