Lurking around the 'grungier' end of town this dry cleaners/seamstress/alterations shop seemed to…read morebe doing a roaring trade when I walked in. I'd been tipped off that they were the 'go to' people in town for turning up jeans which apparently is trickier than it sounds. Something to do with the back of the leg having to be longer than the front, fine on other fabrics but unforgiving on denim. The pleasant lady took the order, I mentioned my concerns and she assured me I'd be no less than delighted with the results. As I was in before noon she said I could pick them up later that afternoon which was a pleasant surprise. Hey presto...back later and the job was done. A very good job too, spot on fit though I felt the £5 charge was a bit steep, I suppose I maybe paid for the quick turn around. Pros: Quality work. Cons: Pricey

So…read moretoday I decided to locate a laundrette and go about getting them cleaned and of courseI Yelped the closest laundrette to me. To my surprise the closest laundrette happened to be a short walk away, it's crazy how you don't notice something until you actually need it. Anyway, I called up and was able to get my table cloths booked in for a dry clean. The whole process was really simple, walked in, told the lady behind the counter that I needed them clean and then paid. Bish, bash, bosh - job done! Price wise it was really reasonable and they will be rest to collect within 24 hours so if you are in desperate need to get something cleaned, go here!

A friend's mum recommended her to me, she advised me to take my slightly torn and ripped clothes here for mending. In these hard times it's better to repair than chuck away I find. The downstairs area of the shop seems to be quite massive with two ornate sofas below the window. Upon these sofas sit her two glorious little dogs. There seems to be no need for all the space downstairs as the lady takes your stuff upstairs or out the back. The prices are reasonable and the speed of mending is fast, just a couple of days or quicker if you are in a hurry. I bought a top, which I really loved, from Primark. I successfully caught it on a nail and it needed mending and it cost £5.00, which was the same price as the top in the first place - might seem silly but I loved that top. The rip she mended was quite big but it was totally invisible when I collected the top - she does a really good job!

They only things you bring to dry cleaners are things that are too difficult to wash yourself and chances are if you did, it would be seriously ruined. That said, Whistle didn't ruin my best suit. They cleaned it and it was dry so all in all that's a pretty successful trip to the dry cleaners. I'm not quite sure how a dry cleaners can get any more than three stars, unless they put some money in my pocket... but they didn't... All in all they washed my suit when I left it in on Tuesday and I collected it on Friday and it was as good as new. Job done

Moving is always more stressful than you anticipate but the crew at the Dixonline will ensure everything goes smoothly. Removal day was an unusually hot one and space in the truck was at a premium but the contents of my home were assessed thoroughly and thoughtfully; every item was handled with the greatest care - including the tricky furniture and way more boxes of books than I had imagined. I had great peace of mind knowing my belongings were in such safe hands. Everything was indeed delivered safely, and unloaded in no time. As other reviewers have mentioned, nothing is too much trouble. I highly recommend the Dixonline; they provided the best value on my UK-Ireland move with absolutely no compromise in professionalism.

As a girl who has a considerably heavy wardrobe (not that I've ever tried to lift it!) I am always using places like this to get clothing I've bought in charity shops in and up (mostly up, I do like short shorts!) and bags repaired etc. The staff here offer an excellent speedy service which doesn't compromise on the quality of the alterations. The alteration I got carried out was perfect. I also recommend this business.

He was handing out leaflets about a place called The Zip Yard and I was immediately intrigued. I hate our throwaway society and think who ever came up with this idea is an amazing person. Everyone has a broken zip or a rip that they actually can't mend themselves or haven't got round to it. The Zip Yard is the answer. Just take your injured clothing into your local franchise store and they will do all they can for you. You can use the express service for minor jobs such as zips or minor repairs or they will amend dresses or even curtains for a few quid and in only a few days. You can go behind the curtains and get get fitted by the ladies who work there. In the Newtownards branch there is a very friendly man who will talk you through whatever needs done. I bought in an old curtain to get converted into a roof storage compartment for my van - he quoted me £20 which I thought was really reasonable and said it would take a few days. I was very impressed and will get back to him soon. Great for rips and repairs - a wonderful idea!

I am disabled and depend on mobility scooter to get anywhere out of the house. My husband decided to get a spare key cutcut since we only had one. The gentleman from speedy shoes actually went out and searched the mall and found it! I really can not thank him enough. He also cut a second key, which fit perfectly, and cost considerably less than buying a replacement key online...which we had tried before and got a key that did not work. Thank you so much!

Of course, the Kennedy Centre now has a Poundland store (whose seemingly inexorable rise and expansion is becoming something of a phenomenon) and a few other big names which, it is hoped, will bring footfall back to its former levels (I don't see that happening). Anyway, I haven't had any shoes repaired - I'm not sure how many people still get shoes repaired, although I know that women getting boots re-heeled is still a steady business - but I was in here to get a key cut. It was costing about £2.80 to get the key cut and, as the guy was cutting the key, I realised we'd be needing a few more keys in the coming months, so I asked him if he'd do four for a tenner, which he did. OK so it wasn't a huge saving, but I like places like that that will give you a bit of discount if you brassneck it. The keys were done in a matter of minutes and I was on my way. They weren't wrong about the 'speedy' bit.
