As a girl who has a considerably heavy wardrobe (not that I've ever tried to lift it!) I am always using places like this to get clothing I've bought in charity shops in and up (mostly up, I do like short shorts!) and bags repaired etc. The staff here offer an excellent speedy service which doesn't compromise on the quality of the alterations. The alteration I got carried out was perfect. I also recommend this business.

I would not recommend this shop to anyone . I left a party dress for shortening, was never given a…read morequotation or a ticket. That was silly from my side but as a wedding shop in Lisburn road recommended me this place I trusted the woman who attended me. At that time I also ask for ironing, a normal service already included in any party dress that needed alteration but I just wanted to make sure. After a month of not hearing anything I called the shop and gave my details. The same woman was confident that she did gave me a ticket and she did sent me a SMS. I did not want to argue, I just wanted my beloved dress. Then I noticed that it was badly ironed, probably it was never ironed .....I did raise this point and this woman insinuated actually that it was my fault saying that it's been hanging a month. Anyway,I left but still quite unhappy in the way I was treated. She charged me 20£ with no hesitation and of course never an apology. So I returned and expressed my concerns. I said if you do that job in any other professional place it's a 24 h job and the dress would be perfectly ironed. I said thank you and tried to leave, and this woman grabbed my arm and explained in a non amicable way her reasons. It was not an ironing provider, my dress was not ironed from the beginning. That is why I asked her when I left the dress. ......And surprisingly she did not object. Lastly she told me that she spent 3 hours on my dress and she had to pay the rent of the shop etc......Surreal, I thought, if I was a business woman I would treat my clients well so they can bring me more. Not exactly the opposite. But now she has 20 £ which were undeserved and I was upset, her loss. I'll find a better place somewhere in belfast.

My mum would bring my school uniforms to this place to get the trousers taken up so I looked my shiny best for the first day back. Their prices are always some of the cheapest in town and they usually get the work done in one or two days, which is just what you need. They also offer more complex alterations for dresses and full suits which do cost a little more, but are done to a very high standard.

In addition to sewing alterations there is a curtain making service for whic I was quoted a charge of £30 per curtain width. You'll probably need two widths per curtain, though might manage to make them a width and a half for a smaller window. I received a good impression of Threads from the girl in the shop when I went in to enquire who was friendly and helpful so if I ever do manage to get some curtains made (I've been humming and ha-ing about this for about three years) I will certainly return to make a further enquiry.

Over Christmas, I left in two dresses. Being measured took no time at all, they made a note of what I wanted done, and didn't take too long (given that it was Christmas and therefore insanely busy everywhere!) to finish the job. I was thrilled with the results too. They took two dresses that were good and made them great, and I feel fantastic in them! I have no problem recommending these guys, since I trust them completely.

So after a tiring, soul destroying shopping day with my mum I had gotten myself suited up! The only was that clothes stores don't do my leg side so I always end up with the trousers under my shoes! I took them to Sow'n'Bow on the Antrim Road to get them took up a few cm. I find most places in this part of the city are a lot cheaper than the rest of town and this was no different. It cost only £4 to get the trousers altered and it was done the next day. The lady I spoke to was polite and knew exactly what I needed done. Great little local shop for all things clothes related.

I just had a dress altered here and it is absolutely perfect. Couldn't find the place at first…read morebecause I thought it was in the Spires shopping mall..but it is just in the suit shop 'Andrew Watson' beside Spires. The lady doing my alterations had a very pleasant manner and was very professional..she has lots of experience in professional alterations and making clothes. I tried my dress on and she pinned it in all the places that needed taking in whilst I looked in the mirror at the perfect fit beginning to take place! Left it with her and picked it up the next morning, super fast and great price. My dress is stunning, absolutely perfect for my body shape. I am delighted!
