We came to Crust & Krumbs of the recommendation of many friends however we will never go there again. We placed an order sometime before the end of September for 100 donuts which was taken with no problem, very simple process. We placed this order for a November 4th pick-up because we wanted the donuts for our wedding. Fast forward to today, November 2nd, and we receive a call that they CANNOT MAKE OUR ORDER! What upset me the most was the fact they called so late, now we cannot get another bakery to fulfill our order before our wedding. This was my first time coming to this incredible bakery and it's absolutely everything the reviews already say it is. We went it to try a few baked goods and will definitely be ordering our cakes from here on our! We ordered the sticky buns with cream, the fresh blueberry coffee cake and powdered donuts stuffed with a ton of white cream. The staff are incredibly helpful and kind. When they didn't have stuffed powdered donuts, the woman behind the counter didn't hesitate to go in the back and stuff them for us. She was so kind and we are so grateful. Came here to pick up an order on Christmas Eve. Place was packed. Didn't try the pie because I was helping my sister out by picking it up for another party she was going to later. A little chaotic but I was able to order a cappuccino while I waited. In late March, I ordered my mom's birthday cake here. I ordered red velvet and told them to make it look Italian md gave them creative license. Picking it up was a completely different experience. Place was empty midday mid week and everyone was more relaxed and friendlier. Cake was delicious and beautiful. I would order here again. We have 5 children all of which we throw birthday parties for from time to time. I enjoy everything about what they do for me there at the bakery. My kids have interest ranging from pokemon dinosaurs, anime, and whatever else you can wildly imagine that kids are into these days. My kids enjoy all of it. I'm able to order the cake that they want. I'm able to go in there and show them a picture of what my children expect their cake to look like and they're able to make it every time I haven't been disappointed once. I don't say that because I just had a birthday party or I'm scheduling my next birthday party and it's going well. I say that because I've been coming here for about the past five or 6 years. I haven't had one complaint not only do I often order the custom cake, but I also get the custom cupcakes too. My kids love to invite all their friends from school over to the parties as well as our family and it's always not just the same and great results and great quality but they make us feel very well. Every time we come they ask about the kids they ask about the parties. They asked how they liked everything and if there's anything they could change. When I say that the cakes are the same what I'm referring to is the quality but that wouldn't be honest either. It'll be a little misleading because the first cake I got from them was really good but the last one I got from them was better and I don't know how they do it every single experience that I've had has been greater than last and I appreciate them for that I only wish I was able to catch them during the holiday season to get the gingerbread cookies that I miss every year... but that's OK the times I go I do make sure I get there they take care of me so for that I want to say thank you to the team I really appreciate you all you all for over 20+ birthday parties I've had thanks to your team!!! read more

I am a newbie to Yelp reviews, I often check them when I'm looking for a good restaurant in the area, however I never write a review. I'm not from the area and I had to find a post office close by, that's when I stumbled across this gem!! It was almost noon on a WEDNESDAY and I saw a few, maybe more, people at 11:30 am strolling out the door with doughnut boxes, so naturally I went in and bought a dozen. They were the best I've ever had, my inlaws (at my house when I got home) couldn't agree more. I should also mention how patient and sweet the girl (maybe owner) behind the counter was. I had ordered a cake for my boyfriend's daughter's 9th birthday. We had an extreme emergency and had to postpone the festivities the morning of the day I was supposed to pick up the cake. I decided to just pick up the cake and ask how well it would freeze. After I explained the situation, they let me hold off on my cake order until everything was over, roughly 2 months. I ordered 1/2 sheet cake for a house warming party I was having. They asked how I wanted it decorated and I said colors of gray/white and the lady said she would google something to write on the cake. I went to pickup the cake the day of the party and they said it was $70 which I thought was very expensive and she showed me the cake. I thought I was looking at the wrong cake! My daughter was with me and said what is that? Mom, that is not what you ordered, I thought you said gray/white colors. The girl ringing me up for the cake read the order back to me and said yeah it says grays and whites and pushed the box to me. The cake was brown/black and the design was a welcome door mat. Needless to say everyone who ate cake at the party walked around with black and green lips. Most of the guests wouldn't eat it because of the stained lips, teeth and tongue. read more

My father wanted fresh Italian Breadths man is IMPOSSIBLE when it comes to bake goods. He grew up in an Italian household, with a Baker for a father - My grandfather was head baker at Mattioli's Bakery in Landisville for years). He insisted we try it again. The smell of a bakery is impossible to resist. I stood there waiting (shocked by how many people were actually in there) scoping out the display case. Everything looked wonderful!. I ended up leaving with a few Danish. Let me say this, they were some of the best Danish I have ever had. They were fresh and jammed packed with filling. Later that night I visited their Pinterest site and was amazed at the custom cakes they were doing...BEATUIFUL! I have since returned many times. They have consistently pleased me with fresh and tasty product. They continue to be $$$$$ costly, but I bake & know that good ingredients are not cheap. Some baked goods are works of art that take skill and time. They have to charge you something for that. So, I have a new opinion of Crust & Crumbs and felt it only right that I change what I had written before. I WOULD MOST DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS BAKERY! read more

I had no idea what I wanted for filling and I asked what she had and she quickly went through her list so fast, and was impatient when I didn't pick one right away. I continued to order my cake and just couldn't stop thinking of how rude she was that I called and cancelled my order today. I have to say that their cheesecake and brownies are wonderful and if it was just about their food, I would give them 5 stars. However, when customers are expected to wear a mask and stand 6 feet from the counter but then watch as not a single employee was wearing a mask or gloves while serving food, I have a problem. I thought maybe it was an off day and I'll come back again. But now, I stopped 3 times in the last week or so and the same exact behavior each time. No masks anywhere to be seen and reaching in to get food with bare hands. Not cool. I've been a patron for years now ... try their cannoli, their eclairs, their cream puffs, their tarts, their donuts, their specialty bakery items (tomato pie, et al.) ... and one of my favorites, a loaf of seminola bread. There's so much that's so good here ... can't list them all, but all of their cakes and pastries are fantastic. I moved down to south jersey a few years back and could not find a bakery that could stand up to those I knew back home, until I stumbled across this place. I have tried the donuts, pastries, Italian bread and cherry tarts. My favorite are the cherry tarts. The owner is very friendly, but not so much the help. I placed an order for a birthday cake for my daughter 2 weeks before the party only to have my father arrive to pick it up for me while I was getting the party set up and it to not be anything like what I told him it was going to be like. Unsure it was the right cake he sent me a photo, I immediately called him and said that's not my cake. I said can I please talk to them, and when I did I was told that they were busy and that was all they had time to do, and they still wanted to charge me the full price for the cake ($85 for a 10inch round cake, which I thought was expensive to begin with but I thought it's a custom cake so it's going to be over priced) that wasn't even decorated at all or anything just white. I told the women that was crazy, that this was extremely important and very unprofessional and she said ok I'll take $20 off ($65 for an all white undecorated cake) I told her are you kidding me, only for her to tell me no I'm not. I said you forget my daughters custom cake, try and charge me the same price for a non decorated cake and I complain so you take $20 off? Are you serious? I told her that the $14.99 cakes you pick up at shoprite were nicer looking then the cake she was trying to push off on me for $65 because they were too busy to full my order. I had my father leave without the 10 inch round white undecorated $65 cake. I called Bjs and explained the situation and they decorated a cake that they had immediately, it was not exactly what we wanted but it was amazing for being last minute and it tasted great too! I later that night went on Facebook on there page and seen the cake that they tried to sell to me for $85, then dropped to $65 when I complained to be listed for sale on there page for $48. I really am hurt that I placed my order so far ahead of time only for them to not do it and feel like other things were more important then my daughters cake. It may not be important to them but she is my daughter and only child and it was important to me. Very poor customer service and very unprofessional business!! This was two trips in one for me first and last! Never again!! read more
