They have been featured on A Current Affair and their regular 'Hottest Burger' eating challenges create a storm of You Tube clips and Facebook photos. Any burger that comes with a health warning and a 'Recovery Kit' has to be quite a meal to tackle and not one that I am personally going to try. I am regularly in the area and I can always tell when some poor brave soul is attempting the burger, the sounds you hear are hilarious. Aside from Mega Death burger, they actually have delicious wraps, breakfasts, burgers with generous fillings and their homemade sauces and dressings are amazing. The food is good, the toppings are tasty and the steaks are always tender, cooked as they are over 18 hours using an amazing slow roasting technique. My friends have a definite thing for the curly fries and aioli and we do tend to get there at least a couple of times a year so we're still having fun there.

Skip this, and go for a seriously old school food bar treat: the steak burger. They take a more sophisticated approach to an olden goldie, but still keep in the classic details. It's made with a rib eye fillet steak, tomato, lettuce, EGG, BEETROOT, and tomato sauce ($12.90 with chips). The only thing that's missing is pineapple! I nearly died from happiness while I inspected my burger for all of the promised ingredients. The coffee is quite nice too. There's no table service, you have to go up to the counter and ask for what you want. You take a number and sit down and wait while your food is made. All in all, I quite like Rafferty's. I was more than happy to have to lean over my plate while I ate my burger because it was so juicy. I wiped the juice off my chin when I was done, but the grin still remained. Did the COVID formalities and ordered coffee and croissant. The coffee came promptly and the croissant was not too far behind. The coffee was fair for a cafe.
