Worse than bad. To call this company unethical is an understatement. Approximately 4-5 years ago, CRT Flooring - Corpus Christi installed luxury vinyl plank throughout our 2,300 square foot house. In the hallways, they laid the LVP over the existing ceramic tile floor and in the rest of the house, they had to add a sub floor after removing the carpets in order to bring the level up to the original ceramic flooring. At the time, they left the job with a huge spill of glue in the middle of the floor, odd transitions and no quarter round in spots leaving a visual jagged edge. There were also spots where, for no known reason, you would actually sink in when stepping on the floor. Upon our notifying them of these issues, they did return to clean up the glue spill and the add the quarter round - they never addressed the concerns regarding the sinking spots nor the odd transitions. Flash forward to 6 months ago when we had a pipe burst in the house and extensive water damage to the house including a small portion of the flooring. In pulling up the LVP, we discovered that throughout the entire house, they used FIBEROCK as the sub-floor. FIBEROCK is a backing you use on the walls behind a backsplash and is absolutely not something you would use under flooring. Inside the outer wrapping of FIBEROCK is similar to sheetrock which now explains the sinking when step on certain spots in various areas. In the bonus room, they used OSB which is, again, not appropriate for use under flooring. OSB is essentially plywood shavings formed and glued together to form a sheet of faux plyboard. I'm now having to replace the entire house of flooring at considerable expense in order to make the flooring right vs just having to repair the small portion of the house actually damaged by the water. Obviously, we are NOT using CRT for this job. read more
