That fact that Erica asks that you talk to her before posting a review should be the very first indication your visit will be horrible!

Anne Cox is the best! I found a psychiatrist who is not pill hapoy but offers practical and matter of fact insight into changing my life.

Here is the thing: EVERYONE NEEDS A MENTAL HEALTH CHECK UP now and again! Even (or Especially!!)…read morethe ones that provide mental health services to others. If you want my professional opinion, I would choose Jamie every time, 100% of the time. She is caring and helpful and has talked me off a few cliffs. I may be able to do this well for other people but not so well for myself sometimes. No matter how much training, knowledge or how many years of experience, I need to run my issues by someone that can see things from a fresh perspective and help me get some insight. And she has been there so I trust her. I trust that she is helping me find my way down my path and when times are dark she spreads some light. Also, its hard to preach to others if you aren't willing to take the steps and do the work yourself! I can't tell my patients to do things and practice coping skills if I am not doing that myself. Right? I have been a family nurse practitioner for 6 years and I always tell my patients that just like getting a physical check up once a year, you should be getting a mental check up at least once a year. After all, it is your brain that drives your body so you are best served keeping it in tip-top shape! If you have any questions, hit up her website. I mean who puts in HUNDREDS of work hours to give you the most informative education on mental health issues? JAMIE! It is so deeply obvious that she cares and she wants stable mental health for everyone. I know she is busy and I don't know if she has openings but please do yourself a favor and try to book an appointment with her. Your check up may last one session or it may last for several but no matter what, you will get what you NEED to help you continue along your life path. Thank you Jamie :)

It made me feel heard and gave me clarity as to what happened. Yelp will not let me delete the review for some reason so I figured I would leave an update. I think in the future it would be helpful if staff call back to schedule appointments rather than organize them via email. This would have helped with the communication and confusion. I am struggling with my mental health and managing appointments can be challenging as is. I will be giving them another shot.

I have recently switched to Silverlining, and my experience thus far has been quite good. I have…read morehad minor problems communicating with the staff regarding scheduling. However once I called out the problem, they were fast and efficient in addressing it. Dr. Sivtsov does maintain a more clinically removed demeanor than many psychiatrists do. I can see where some people might find this off-putting, especially if they are not expecting it. However I find his "bluntness" (for lack of a better word) reassuring. When I go to a psychiatrist, I'm not looking for a friend; I'm looking for clinical, diagnostic evaluation, diagnosis and assistance. Dr. Sivtsov does all of that, and he does it very well. And none of it is hidden behind a cloak of faux-friendly banter. Even though Dr. Sivtsov has a more clinically removed demeanor than is common, I have never felt like a number. He remembers things about me, from my life, and asks me about them or comments on them. I have never felt talked down to by Dr. Sivtsov or gotten the impression that he sees me as a "broken brain on legs" the way other psychiatrists do. He clearly sees me as a whole person -- something that is sadly somewhat rare among doctors. Dr. Sivtsov also goes above and beyond in other ways -- he always checks to see what medications my insurance covers before prescribing anything, and he even helped me to identify an alternative pharmacy that had MUCH lower prices than my usual one. He also made financial arrangements so that I could afford TMS therapy -- basically making it possible for me to do. If you find the upbeat, friendly demeanor of many psychiatrists to be something that you need (maybe in order to feel like you are on familiar territory -- I dunno), then I wouldn't recommend Silverlining. But if you can get past the bluntness, I wholeheartedly recommend Silverlining Psychiatry.
