I stayed at this hotel for 1 night for a work event. I would describe this hotel as "janky chic."…read moreThey give off vibes of a luxury/boutique hotel, but our room was actually pretty janky. The shower floor and tiles were discolored and the soap dispensers were broken. The shower water also drained very slowly. This made it all feel very unclean. The toilet paper is some of the worst hotel toilet paper I've had--it had the texture of those brown paper towels. The location is great, however. We arrived late at night and needed a snack, and there were plenty of dining options within walking distance. For one quick night it was manageable, but it's definitely not somewhere I'd like to spend a lot of time at.

This is a generic BUSINESS hotel, clearly not for leisure or for family vacation. I've stayed here…read moretwice in the course of a year - once with my pet - and the second time staying without a pet confirmed that there's a lack of finess and attention at this Novotel location. I love their green initiative but that cannot be the excuse for providing such rough facial tissues that feel like a softened newsprint and also the lack of any tissues in the room. Only to be found in the bathroom locked in the vanity case. While polite and friendly, insensitive front desk staff failed to offer a timely and adequate service when I mentioned the shower and tub was dirty. There was no offer to provide another room. I had to call the housekeeping directly after 2 hours of making the original report to the front desk to get someone to come to clean the tub and shower head. The housekeeper was polite and friendly, but it was awkward to have to explain what needed to be done yet again and try to rest in the room while having him clean the shower with a strong chemical. Oh, and there is no bathroom fans, which truly tells how outdated this establishment is. I understand the lack of motivation to upgrade the hotel due to its handy location and the need for a hotel for people who are visiting the area for business, but it's disappointing that it doesn't live up to its brand name Novotel, as I'd imagine many people who book this hotel would expect a higher level of service and room conditions.

I stayed here for several days; everything was wonderful. My review of the breakfast sums it up…read moreneatly. As is tradition, the coffee is the vanguard of the Holiday Inn breakfast. It arrives five minutes prior, the aroma preparing the pallet for the culinary ballet that is to take place. Each plate is prepared with the care and elegance you would expect from a classically trained, European chef. Before indulging, one must take it in visually. The tots form the base, the omelette lays on top like a cheesy seductress, her insides cascading down. The bacon is neither rigid nor flaccid, but a salty half chub. The pieces of pig are stretched across each other, seeming to say "X marks the spot, for deliciousness!". The omelette and the bacon blend perfectly together, like booze and cigarettes, like Covid and a cough. The tots are crisp as a fresh September morning when you're still optimistic about the new school year. This waltz of flavours is concluded perfectly with a banana strawberry smoothie, a nutritious time capsule to summer days of one's youth. I would definitely recommend this hotel. The staff, especially the chef go out of there way to make you feel welcome. There is also an indoor badminton court. I scoffed at the idea at first, then I tried it! 10/10!

Note that The Westin Prince is no longer The Westin Prince, but rather the Pan Pacific Toronto…read more Even though, there are still several signs in the community that say "The Westin Prince" even though it is no longer a Westin property and no longer The Prince. Prior to about two years ago, I would always stay with family when I was traveling to Toronto. I then learned that the Pan Pacific (which my family calls the Old Prince) was only about five minutes from where many of my family members live. Since then, I've been staying there about 3-4 times a year, sometimes on my own and sometimes with my sister. I have found that the rooms, restaurant (Seasons), and common areas were comfortable while the staff were very helpful. I typically would get a king bed or two queens (if I was traveling with someone else), and often get an upgrade to a larger room, a balcony room, or even once for my birthday, a junior suite. There is typically an amenity dropped off (small package of three chocolates with two sparkling waters) along with daily water bottles. The beds are comfortable, and there are individual-sized shampoos and other amenities in the bathroom that get restocked as needed. While this Pan Pacific location doesn't offer complimentary breakfast for Titanium members, you can get a discount based on your status level at its restaurants. My only challenge in the rooms over my visits has been days where housekeeping is skipped for no particular reason or the blinds that sometimes fall down. Any time I have reported anything to the front desk, they have fixed it that day. The other amenities in the hotel have been useful. We often use the fitness center, only a short walk away, though there are a few machines that have been removed over the last two years though they haven't replaced them. There is also an outdoor pool, which we haven't used but have seen people using. On one occasion, we went for a walk along one of the trails, which didn't go that far. We always park a vehicle at the hotel, and as long as you have a picture of your license plate to show the staff at check-in, you can easily come in and out at your convenience for a daily rate of $20, I believe. There are also conference rooms downstairs though we haven't used them before. I used a status match and then stayed there once in order to earn a status with GHA Discovery inclusive of Pan Pacific Hotels. You can sign up with the GHA Discovery Silver status without a previous stay, and then after two visits or spending $1000 USD, you can upgrade your status to GHA Discovery Gold. The higher statuses are Platinum and Titanium. As a GHA DISCOVERY member, you'll earn up to 7% back in Discovery Dollars (D$) on every eligible purchase to be used on your next visit. Other perks for all tiers include complimentary internet, exclusive rates and offers, birthday treats, savings at spa outlets, and savings on dining bills (up to 20% off). Depending on status level, you can also get a local amenity at check-in, upgraded room experience, early check-in, late check-out, status sharing, priority room availability, and complimentary breakfast. I certainly recommend that someone in North York, Ontario looking for a hotel consider this as an option. It's certainly worth it! I also want to give recognition to Denise, Anas, and Pranav for always being so helpful.

Sept. 11, 2026…read more Having checked out of the Crowne Plaza Hotel (Don Valley) I can tell you that what makes this hotel a good experience is not the physical plant itself, but the people. With one exception, the staff at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (Don Valley) went above and beyond at every single minute. They were gracious, kind, responsive, inquisitive (in a positive way), and genuinely good people. I don't think I've run across a more comprehensively good staff in a very, very long time - if ever - and it was a pleasure to interact with them. Now - here are the MAJOR areas where they could improve: (1) the "coffee" in the rooms genuinely sucks. It is bottom-of-the-barrel crap that needs replacing. A good hotel should not be brought low because they can't get this right. The TEA in the room - "Bentley" tea.... is so god-awful it's like drinking p*** water. It's brown and it's hot and that's all you can say for it. (2) The coffee in the lobby? This is where the International Hotel Group (IHG), which runs the Crowne Plaza (Don Valley) Hotel really pisses me off. They refuse to serve coffee in the lobby in the morning, so that everyone is pushed towards the restaurant. It's a cheap, nasty tactic and it serves no one's interest. You'd think that a hotel as busy as the Crowne Plaza is would get this right.... but *no*. The manager is either a looney-pinching fool who thinks this is alright or or he/she's an idiot who doesn't know that this tactic just torques people and pushes them, not towards the hotel, but towards Tim Horton's, which is a three-minute walk from the hotel. (3) Access to the pool is another problem. YES, you can get their by internal elevator, but they sure as Hell don't make it easy or convenient. It's a winding, convoluted path to get there and you have to know that it's possible. Otherwise, you're pushed to a dirt path that circles around and down to the pool. There are NO hand-rails, no steps... just dirt and stone, and an elderly person, like my mother, needs a firm, guiding hand to get there. ALSO - there are no handicap-accessible ramps. IF THIS HOTEL WERE IN THE U.S, they'd get sued into oblivion for violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act. We'd never tolerate the situation and they hotel manager would know about it or would be looking for a different job. (4) Now... let's talk about food, since that's a somewhat related topic. The breakfast buffet SUCKS. It's awful. Genuinely. Their scrambled eggs could be used for building material, the pastries are small, flavorless, and obviously come out of a cardboard box. The fruit.... it looks like it would taste good, but in the three days we ate there, there was ne'er a ripened, sweet piece of fruit to be found. As for anything else... they don't let you make your own waffles, they don't offer cooked-to-order omelettes, they don't offer bacon that's not soggy and tasting like the pig died years ago, and don't get me started on the sausages that they offer. If those were offered in the U.S, as restaurant-manager, you'd be taken outside and shot. They were genuinely that bad. The Polish waitress that we had (she's awesome, btw), said that she was aware of the problem, but no one listened to her, and weren't likely to, even though she was in a position to know good sausage when she tasted them, because of her background. If you're in a position to do so.... totally skip the restaurant and eat at one of the places across the street. The breakfast place on the corner looked promising, but we didn't get a chance to try it.... but the $28 PER PERSON that the hotel's restaurant will soak you for is much better spent elsewhere. All in all, the hotel is fine. It's older, needs a lot of work in the areas I've outlined, and definitely needs to do something about it's TV package and reception (the football game that was on Wednesday night between the 49's and the Rams kept glitching.... freezing so that you couldn't hear what was being said). They need a massive cable tv contract and decent service. I'd give the hotel four stars if they cleaned up the issues I've pointed out, but right now, the best I could do is 3 stars.

An Exceptional 5-Star Experience That Exceeded All Expectations!…read more Our stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we arrived, everything was at the highest level. The professionalism and friendliness of the staff, the luxurious atmosphere, the beautifully designed and well-equipped rooms, and the exceptional cleanliness were all truly impressive. One particularly nice touch was the complimentary Rolls-Royce transportation service around the city, which made our stay feel even more special. Although the hotel is certainly in the luxury price category, the quality of accommodations, attention to detail, and level of service fully justify the price. You truly get what you pay for. The entire experience exceeded our expectations. This is exactly what a true five-star hotel should be. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return. Highly recommended!

This review is really for the spa located on the 9th floor in the hotel…read more This is a full service spa where you can get any numerous treatments from mani/pedi's, massages and even hair cuts. Once you get off the elevator you are on a floor that seems to be completely devoted to the spa. There are his and her separate change rooms and within these change rooms there are full shower amenities with everything you need including a swim suit dryer. What great is that you also have access to the pool area, which also includes a decent sized hot tub and infrared sauna found on the pool deck. The pool deck is surrounded by loungers. You can easily spend a whole day here. There is a separate area where you can order food and eat and it looks like there is a patio for warmer weather. The only downside is that the pool area is the only co-ed space so we saw a lot of couples. Because the amenities are so great you can easily just make an appointment, show up with your swimsuit and purse and that's all you need. Service is very professional...this is the Four Seasons.

The staff was friendly, the location is good, the price was solid, and the room was comfy and clean. Some touch points: Conveniently located near a college campus so there are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel offers parking, although we did not utilize it. We did valet check our bags the last morning after checking out so we could do some more sight-seeing prior to going to the airport - always a plus to be able to do. Breakfast is included - you receive a voucher per guest per day for the Freshii downstairs, served until 10:30AM. This was convenient and the food was good. The room was spacious, clean, and comfy. Modern/Ikea-esque decorations, TV, couch, coffee table, closet. The bed was really comfy. In-room fridge which I love! Nice bathroom, basic toiletries provided, hairdryer, and some fun post-shower slippers made from towel material. Bathrobes in the closet. Low noise level - we had good night's sleep. This was a great hotel choice and we enjoyed our stay! I would recommend the Saint James Hotel.
