Such an enjoyable stay over the weekend! Snazzy looking room and one of the nicest hotel showers I've had. Cool TV that welcomed us on arrival and allowed us to request items like extra coffee and water to our room. The steam room, hot tub and pool were nice for relaxing. Great room. Apparently, they have upgraded some of the rooms and we ended up in one. Everything in the room was top notch: the king bed was super comfy, the flat screen TV was huge and the shower was really nice. Staff was friendly and offered to help with our bags. Parking was plentiful and next to the hotel, but there is a nightly parking fee. Lobby is nice and appears to have been recently updated. I'd stay again. My expectations were exceeded. read more

People , " updated" rooms is more then just a small flat screen TV and a cell phone charger by the bed. Do you realize cell phones have been out for 20 years??? So having a charger to me is not a huge plus. They blew their money on their lobby which is fair. The room I stayed in was crammed ( as in I was touching the curtain and the AC on the wall when I would get into bed and I am not big person) and it was dirty. Stains on carpet ( see pics) and curtains were from the 80's. You could hear people talking and running down the hallway ( I know , not hotel's fault) and there was some girl sitting on the floor by our door listening to her ipod. Real upscale.( sarcasm) More like ghetto. The elevators are a joke in that they are tiny ( as in 3 regular sized adults are crowded) and take FOREVER to come to you. If they are in anyway related to the Crown Plaza in the U.S they must be the poor relation. I will never stay here again. read more

UPDATE: Thank you to Scotiabank for reversing the charge from "Crowne Plaza". The Crowne Plaza put an unauthorized transaction of $250 on my credit card and refused to remove it - it was reversed about a month later. No soccer teams from Halifax will be staying at the Crowne Plaza in the future. It seems as though it is more important for the Crowne Plaza to make an extra dollar than please their customers. read more

The Crowne Plaza is an older hotel in the downtown core of Moncton, but it's a reliable one. I had to stay there for a few days during a business trip, and enjoyed my stay well enough. It's an older hotel, so it could do with some updated coats of paint (the pinkish beige gave it a dated feel) and some modernization in the rooms, but it's comfy enough to make do when you have to be away from home. The room was comfy, if a little outdated. A huge wardrobe housed a tube TV and hanging closet. The little table in the corner was a little too cluttered, though, with accessories and hotel info. So much so that the coffee maker had to be on the bathroom counter because there wasn't room for anything else. The beds were big and pillows plentiful, but too stiff for my liking. This Goldilocks woke up with a sore back after both nights. The front desk was very happy and helpful every time I dealt with them. They were more than happy to lend me a mini fridge, so I could keep some drinks and snacks cold during my stay. And when I brought back leftovers from a restaurant and couldn't wait to polish them off, room service was able to bring me up some utensils. When I called back after my stay to get new copies of my invoices, they were also very quick with fulfilling me request. Room service was decent. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries, and it was very tasty and didn't take too long to arrive. That being said, I can't take their finer dining meny seriously when they describe their $35 steak as having "oodles" of flavour. All in all, it's a good hotel, if not my preference when I stay in Moncton. read more

This is my usual home when I am in Moncton. This place has gone through many a hotel banner but since it became a Crowne Plaza, it has been a very nice hotel. The rooms were renovated just a few years ago and they still feel very up to date. Since I stay in a lot of hotels of the Holiday Inn/Crowne Plaza/Intercontinental persuasion, I have the Gold designation in their Priority Rewards program. Which always gives me a good chuckle whenever I check in: "I see you've stayed with us before and that you're a gold member". LOL! There was a small glitch with my reservation today but it was quickly resolved. As a bonus, I was upgraded to a jacuzzi suite. It's really not a suite but one very big room with a jacuzzi tub in one corner. Very nice. Keurig coffee maker with an assortment of coffee, decaf, tea and decaf tea, flat screen tv, bath robes all make for a very pleasant stay. One downside to this hotel is that they now charge $10 for parking, although that fee was waived since I booked with my CPSA (Canadian Professional Sales Association) membership. That also got me a free full breakfast for tomorrow morning. The hotel is walking distance from a couple dozen restaurants and bars, being right in the downtown core. If you want to go to the casino however, it'll be a drive or a cab ride. read more

The rooms are nice. But it's New Years and I understand it's a time where people celebrate have a few drinks. However it's now 3 in the morning there's people yelling and screaming in the hallway banging on doors just causing a fuss. I haven't been able to sleep. People pay good money to stay here and the hotel seems unequiped to the situation. This is my first time staying here and because of the lack of security in this situation I wouldn't stay again or recommend it to a friend. It's absolutely ridiculous. You'd hope by now the hotel staff would have this under control by now but it nope. No sleep for me I suppose ‍. I called front desk an hour ago and they said security is going though the hotel trying to calm things down but there has been no change. Do not stay at this hotel if you like sleep read more

Worst hotel in downtown Moncton!!! Unless you're in town for a bachelor party, avoid this hotel completely! An employee of the hotel, Tanya, disturbed my wife and I three times during our two night stay, telling us our TV could be heard from the hallway one time, and that our voices were too loud the other two times (we were having sex, how embarrassing). Meanwhile there was an extremely loud and rowdy bachelor party happening across the hall, and despite having 20+ people chanting in their bedroom at 11pm Tanya did nothing but flirt with them out in the hall (I could see and hear everything from my room). Although the hotel has excellent pool and fitness facility, I will NOT be returning to the Crowne Plaza, and I would strongly recommend others avoid it as well. read more

Older hotel but nicely updated and maintained. The rooms are warm and homey with everything you would expect. The pool and exercise room are adequate and there are lots of machines. It is downtown so there are many restaurants and services nearby. On thing that kind of irks me is there is an additional charge for parking, I can see this in big cities but not here. This hotel was much better than expected. The husband and I arrived pretty late and left early in the morning so we weren't here very long. The room was very clean. One problem I noticed was it seemed like there was just too much furniture in the room so it felt very cramped. We had a two queen room since it was the only thing availabile when we checked in late. Ok, I was ready to give 5 stars for this place, because it was newly renovated, but the food and beverage situation made it drop. I travel a lot for work. A lot. If there is not a complimentary buffet, I always just pay for the buffet and get it "to-go". Today, my bus for work was leaving at 9:15am, I got down to the buffet at 9:05 ready to pay $15 for some basic bacon and eggs. The girl says I can have a seat, and I explain that I was just going to get it to-go because I was in a big hurry and didn't have time to sit and eat. She said she would go ask the manager. A different girl comes over and asks if I had been taken care of, and since the other girl had already spoken to me I said yes. Well, at 9:10 she hasn't come back, so I look around the corner to the dining area and see her serving people. So I ask if she got the answer from her manager?? She looks over at the other girl who had come over to me, who turns out to, I guess, be the manager? So she then comes over to me and says "can I help you?" *really?* I then have 3 minutes before the bus is about to leave, so I say as quickly as I can, "I just wanted to quickly pay for the buffet and get it to-go". She says "we don't do to-go with buffets." !?!! Now, I could understand if I had sat down, already eaten a ton of food, and THEN asked for a to-go box to load up some more basic bacon and eggs, but I was literally only getting one to-go box. I would have actually sAved them money. Ridiculous "policies" like this, that obviously haven't been carefully taught or thought about, are what can ruin an otherwise great experience. Hopefully this review helps make a change in this silly rule for others in the future in my same circumstance. read more

Worst hotel I've stayed at in a long time. Room was updated but so small and crammed i had to keep my suit case on the bed. Hallway was narrow and all wet paint. Paints cans, trays and brushes were on carts in the hallway but no workers anywhere to be seen. This at 430' prime check in time. While about 6 patrons were waiting for an elevator a maintenance guy swooped in with a cart full towells and stole the elevator. That was so so strange its hard to decide if it was bad service or just bad manners. When i got to my room, i took off my shoes only to find the the carpet was soaking wet. Nobody was able to tell me why. In general, service here is adequate and the place is as clean as most other hotels of this standard. With so many other choices in this city, I definitely would never come to this hotel again. read more

We booked the Crown plaza - Moncton for our wedding reception. What a mistake! The front desk was a nightmare from the get go. They were extremely unorganized, unprofessional, and down right rude at times. They created confusion and frustration among the guests. We had a block of 50 rooms set aside for guests, when guests called in to book a room, from the block that had been assigned, they were told that they were unsure if any rooms were left or that they were getting the last room. We had booked an early check in the day before the wedding. When we stopped in at 11 am to check in on the way to our rehearsal we were told that we could not have an early check in and that an early check in is never guaranteed. We had all our wedding stuff with us, dress, suit, decorations, etc. and we had to put our stuff in one of our guests rooms until our room could be sorted out. Nothing like running all over a hotel with bins, bags, suits, and a wedding dress. It wasn't until I called one of the managers and became extremely frustrated that we were assigned another room. The week of the wedding, out of town guests were moved to the Delta due to electrical upgrades, however the morning of wedding, there were electrical issues in the bridal suite where me and my bridal party were getting ready. When we checked out the day after the wedding I expressed my concerns to the front desk manager. He was unapologetic and even argued with me. I have yet to experienced customer service this poor. Having said that, The food and service at the reception was great. Solely based off our experience with the front desk staff, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere If you are planning an event or your wedding reception. read more

I would like to start by saying I have given this hotel a 4/5 before however I have noticed over the last 3 years the service has gone down hill. 2 years in a row the front desk staff couldn't put in the credit card correctly. So we had to call master card and find out what the problem was only to find out both times they keyed the number in wrong. To top it off to get us to come to the front desk they canceled our ability to get into their gym. So we would have to come to the front desk to get it straightened out. This hole process took over an hour each time and sucked the fun out of our weekend. Only to be told sorry. Sorry isn't good enough when it happens twice. My husband however said we should give them another chance, since our previous stays had been so nice. The following year was good they now had swipe pads no major problems. This year we went back and they no longer had the sleep kits in the room you had to ask for them. We rented a movie download for $16.99 plus tax that the sound didn't line up with the movie it self. Told the problem, to the front desk only to be told that is to bad. Then we were charged a $120.00 charge on our mastercard and they didn't know why when I called. Then the manager calls me back and says this is a normal charge until the room is paid for. Funny how we were never charged this before???? Though they are now taking it off. This hotel for what you pay now is not worth the price. I will go elsewhere will less hassel. Not to mention when I called about the over charge on my card I asked to speak to a manager and wasn't and when I asked why I was hung up on. Not happy at all poor service indeed read more
