I am not sure if they are still in business. I hope they are OK. They stated their hours were from 11-6 on Saturday, but were closed all day. No one answers. A sign on door, parking is very difficult, says appointments needed. I want to change this review and hopefully someone with a recent experience will advise that they are still in business and still open. read more

Horrible experience. I suffer from hair loss and I wanted a wig for a special event that same night. I went to this establishment, walked in, and was the only customer. The lady came from the back and didn't seem very nice to begin with. I told her what I was looking for and I saw a wig I wanted to try on. She said I needed to purchase a hair net for $2.15 cents. I didn't have any cash on me and she just looked at me. I thought to myself, I'll just go home. I went to my car and found cash to purchase the hair net. It's hard to find parking near the store so I was several feet away and didn't really feel like walking back. But I really wanted a wig for that night and the one I saw looked decent. So, I walked back to the store and bought the hair net. She proceeded to put the wig on me. I tried on a second wig and decided to take the first one. We went to the cash register and I handed her my card. It was $212.00. She swiped the card and gave me a receipt to sign. After I signed it, she looked at the receipt and then looked at my card and asked me who the person was. I was using my husbands card as he was treating me to the wig. I told her that the card was my husbands. She asked for my ID which I gave to her. We don't have matching last names so that must've given her a red flag. I re-iterated that it was my husbands card and that he gave it to me to purchase the wig. I told her I'd be more than happy to have her talk to him on the phone or she can make a copy of my ID. She declined and said she will need to void the payment. She voided the payment right away and said sorry. Well, a sorry was not enough. I told her that was unacceptable. She should've looked at the card for any concerns BEFORE processing the payment. I now had no wig AND to top things off, the $212 was on hold on the card so I could not use the card anymore until the money was released back for usage. That meant 48 hours needed to go by before I could use the $212. So, again, I was left with no wig and no money. She failed to understand this. She then proceeded to call the police on me. I felt I was not in the wrong so I stayed in the store waiting. The police came, very nice and polite, and asked for my ID. He questioned the whole situation and I explained. The police officer called my husband verified what I was saying was the truth. He then asked the store owner to give me the wig but she stated she voided the payment already. Because of this, she could not process the payment a second time as there wasn't enough funds. The office said she had two choice 1. either give me the wig as a "I owe you" and that if in 2 days I don't pay her, a warrant for my arrest would be in place OR just say tough luck and I'm sorry. Well she chose tough luck. The owner had a bad attitude from the beginning. She was not pleasant or helpful at all. She didn't care that she left me without a wig AND without money. I explained to her my financial situation and she couldn't care less. I will never be going back and I suggest no one buys any of her wigs because she doesn't value her customers at all. STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GO THROUGH THE SAME THING I DID! read more

To get to this sweet spot, you have to travel via limo. Seriously. That's how ritzy this place is. But when you're named "Crown" Wigs, shouldn't you expect a little bit of royalty? While we went to get my friend a custom handmade merkin, we were disappointed that they didn't offer any Made-in-the-USA brands with real hair. After receiving my last chemotherapy treatment about 3 months ago, I decided I wanted a wig. I decided to come here based on the 5-star reviews and it was also on the list that my oncologist's office gave me. Big mistake. When you are selling wigs, you're not just selling any kind of commodity, you're selling an emotion, i.e. hope, happiness, etc. At first, I walked into the shop there were no salesperson in sight, just mannequin heads all around me. When the lady appeared from the back, I told her I needed a wig because I lost my hair due to chemotherapy. She proceeded to let me try on some wigs. I picked out 3 and she picked out 2. After that she abruptly said, you cannot try on anymore and proceeded to walk away. She later told me that the maximum you can try in one visit is 4 and apparently she let me go over my limit. Had I known that there was a limit, I would have made my choices more carefully esp, not letting her pick it out for me. At this point she was at the cash register area and I'm still on the chair where she left me. So if you try on 4 more it would be an extra $20. I told her I'd pay the $20 to try on another wig. She then proceeded to come back to where I was sitting. I felt like this place was about selling and lacked heart. Because I was desperate for time and in a rush, I decided to get one of the wigs but I left very unsatisfied. read more

I actually had to get a wig because of a stylist accident at a salon left me practically bald and the remaining hair was multi-toned. Green in some places, black in some places, red in some places and my natural hair color (dark blonde). The owner was so professional and so nice and very knowledgeable. The first wig she suggested is the one I bought. I tried on at least 30 other wigs. Wigs are great because in this scenario the wig helped me feel attractive again. Like India Arie says "I am not my hair" but after having mid-back length hair bleached to the point I had an inch and a half left in some places at best, I felt so embarrassed. This woman should not be running a business. She was rude and dismissive to my friend who had just gone through chemo. She wanted us in and out of her shop as quickly as possible, and she did not have any other customers. She does not deserve your business. read more

There are not many things worse in life than to take advantage of a cancer patient. This is what Diana at Crown Wigs does. She sold me a wig for almost $500 that fell apart after 2 weeks! When I called her to express my dismay, she said "Well, you should have read your receipt stating that nothing is returnable." I told her that she should stand behind the products she sells and her answer was "Well, I have no idea what you have been doing to the wig since you purchased it." When I showed the wig to someone in the business, she confirmed my suspicion that I had been screwed. Wow, Diana, do you believe in karma because, if so, you'd better be careful. read more

One star is too many for this establishment. Crown Wigs must have changed ownership since the last reviews because the woman I encountered upon my recent visit was extremely rude and not the least bit helpful. There was nothing ritzy or fancy about the shop or the wigs. If bad customer service or cheesy wigs are your thing then this is the place for you. read more
