It was closed (meaning all the gas pumps) last week and today. I have no clue what's going on and am frustrated that I drive here and have to drive to the other Shell on Aliso Creek. Avoid this car wash unless desperate. If things are ok, things are just ok. If things aren't right, they cannot handle it at all. Attendants are not trained for basic requirements of the job. They have a bucket and brush to scrub your car before you go through the drive through. My wife tried to wash her car tonight but the bucket had oily water. She didn't notice until she had already spread the dirty, oily water all over the hood of our car. She asked the attendant to replace the contaminated water with fresh, soapy water. The attendant was eating at the time and didn't want to be bothered. My wife asked again and the attendant said she didn't understand what to do. My wife told her to just replace the water with clean water. The attendant said she didn't know how to do that and needed to call her manager. On the phone with her manager, the attendant came over to where our car was. She couldn't figure out what to do. My wife tried to explain but had to be loud because of the noise from the car wash machine. The attendant complained that my wife was yelling at her, not recognizing that she, too, was now being loud due to the machine noise. The attendant told her manager that my wife was yelling at her so the manager told the attendant to call the police. My wife decided to cut her losses and just go through the machine without doing the pre-scrub. At this point, she mainly just wanted to remove the oily residue left by the contaminated water. While in the car wash, the machine abruptly shut off. When my wife got out to see what happened, the attendant told her that she had shut off the machine and my wife needed to leave before the police came to force her away. So, my wife left having paid for a car wash she did not receive and arrived home in an emotional state after having been threatened with a police encounter. All the above occurred because a lazy, untrained employee couldn't replace dirty water with fresh and an incompetent 'manager' believes the best approach to good customer service is to call the police on business patrons. I've been coming to this car wash since I got my license 10 years ago. Today, a young man with longer hair was so very rude to me. I brought my mom's car to wash for her 74th birthday and was treated awfully. I came up to tell him that the fan turned off on me before I could even get to the fan and he started laughing at me accusing me of lying to him as well as other customers lying about the same problem. I'm a young woman so a man standing in front of me laughing at me is inexcusable service. I am so very offended that after my many years of coming here loyally, I get talked down to like this. He did refund me so I am glad with that I guess but to stand laugh at me and accuse me of lying on the camera is not ok. Handle this better. read more

Very tough area to get in and out of, it's a station that always has pumps open, but can be very tricky to turn into. The prices are expensive, I'd love to see cheaper prices with time. It is roughly a 4 minute drive away from the nearest Costco, which has way cheaper gas. I would only come here if you don't want to wait in line at Costco, but just know you are going to pay more than average. Also, they have a carwash, but there doesn't seem to be any sort of discount on gas for getting a carwash. I would not be back unless I am in the area and in immediate need of gas. read more

The low rating here is well-deserved. I was coming here for some time (emphasis on was). It's hard to say what's the worst aspect of this place. The fact it is unreliable, often requiring resets. The precise timing to pay for your wash - don't pay too soon. Getting chastised by the attendant when you need to get your money back and him trying to argue any problems are your fault. This Shell has become very competitive with their gas pricing and is almost the same as the local Costco gas. If you have any Shell rewards or Ralphs grocery points that will knock the pricing down even more. They have a carwash that does an ok job and is good in a pinch. Not sure how long their pricing will be this good, but as they say, nothing lasts forever but the earth, wind and sea. The one drawback with getting gas here is it can be tough getting in and out of this location. read more

Convenient location, I often get gas here if I do not want to wait in the long lines at Costco. The gas definitely costs more here. There are plenty of pumps, and I never have had to wait for one. I have never driven up to an out of order pump...they have always been in good working order for me...weather you want regular or premium. I've never had a problem with getting either grade of gas. Use your Ralphs card here to get extra 10 cents off each gallon if you have 100 points built up. This station has a nice drive through car wash with 3 options and I pay for it at the pump. There usually is a wait for that...Be sure to give yourself about 10 minutes for each car ahead of you. I have used it many times and twice encountered a problem. Both times involved the drying mechanism..so I had to drive out with a wet car. read more

I wanted a quick clean and went to this carwash on 8/16/20. Great deal, paying $8 for a wash and wax. When done, pulled over to vacuum the inside and noticed that the antenna cover (Shark Fin) was MISSING. I filed a report and when I got to speak with the manager she said basically "not our problem." She said she watched video and admitted that the fin was on the car going in and not on going out. Never going back here again and should have read the reviews before. When someone finally came I'm pretty sure the guy gave me a $6 wash when I had paid for the $9 one. This is also after I had waited for the cashier to come out and fix the wash for the person in front of me! Then they charged $3.00 to use the vacuum to clean the inside of your car, I had to use it twice because I have a big car. Zero stars. I hate this place. The car wash is almost never working. Went last week to fill up and like an idiot, bought a car wash. Waited in line for 15+ minutes and it stopped working. Cut my losses and went home, since the receipt says you have 90 days. Was back in LN today and decided to try again. Waited in line 15+ minutes and finally got up to my turn, and it stopped working. I finally drove thru and went up to the little cashier hut to ask for my $$ back and the short dark-haired fat ugly man started screaming at me that I didn't follow the directions. I said whatever, I just want my money back and you'll never see me again. His tirade was super unexpected and it kept going on. Then he yelled at me because my credit card was "dirty" and wouldn't work, even though I'd just used it elsewhere. I watched him play with his defective equipment for about 5 minutes and he finally reluctantly handed me $6. I don't know what I paid because he kept the receipt, but what a nightmare! I did this once and my car looked awful. In San Diego, there is a Shell Station that has a drive through. They have two people hosing your car down and then it move through with blowers at the end. You can them drive to a vacuum if you want. It really cleans you car well. I can't find anything like that in the Laguna Niguel, Dana Point area. The one in SD also was cheap. You could choose which wash you wanted. I always got the cheapest for $8. I miss SD. read more

Car wash tore my rear window wiper off my car. COMPLETELY OFF. Filled out their paperwork and when the manager called me back, she simply said "We have a sign out front that says we're not responsible." I mean - it's a WINDOW WIPER. Not as if it's an antenna or... a roof rack... or something. Long story short - they refused to pay for the damage. About $50 in parts from the dealership. That's one damn tank of gas. Unfortunately I can give neither r and m or Everwash a good review. I have had the platinum membership for close to a year. I have a white car that after rinsing always has blue, red and yellow soap still on the car. If allowed to dry it is very difficult to remove the color stains. I have repeatedly reported this to both everwash and r and m employees, with picture of my car after a car wash. After many months, nothing has changed. In fact the employees at r and m have been dismissive and rude, saying why don't you go elsewhere, or what do you expect from a cheap car wash? Well quite honestly, I expect the colored soap to be rinsed off my vehicle. I do not think that is asking too much. After multiple calls to. Everlast, I have never received a return phone call. As this is the only convenient car wah to my location, I have been forced to downgrade to the silver wash, as it does not leave the colored saop. Pulled up to vacuum, took out my Malinois and Husky out of my car to let them pee on the grass. As I was tying them up to vacuum my SUV a bearded man came running up to me screaming for letting my dogs pee on an area where you pull into the wash. Some scrub and rocks. He was yelling he had spent $100's and hours fixing it up. Asked the ranting nut to show me what had been damaged. Told him if it meant that much to him he needed to post a sign DOGS NOT WELCOME! I proceeded to vacuum my SUV and after about 5 minutes had two OC Deputies walk up behind me telling me to exit the property or be arrested! I put my dog bed and dogs in my SUV and left. I would give a zero if I could. I bought my premium car wash, while filling up the gas tank, 64 days ago and then discovered the car wash was not available. I had forgotten about it until I ran across the receipt. No problem as receipt said valid for 90 days. Car wash accepted my valid number and then gave the green light and told me to pull forward. It turned on for a split second and completely stopped. There was a car behind me so I had to pull forward out of the wash, park and go speak to the attendant on duty. First she told me the problem was that I pulled in too soon, although I had been given the green light and told to do so. Then she said car wash was only good for 30 days, although the receipt clearly stated 90 days. Then she called someone of authority on the phone who said that it was already past the 90 day time frame. They wouldn't honor my receipt and allow me to utilize my purchased and valid car wash. Two different representatives of this establishment could not figure out that when the purchase date is June 30, 2020 (day 1), 90 days later would be September 27, 2020. Today is September 1, 2020 (day 64). Please check a calendar if you aren't proficient in math. I have used this gas station and car wash every week for over 28 years, with the exception of when the car wash has been out of commission. Literally, about 1500 times, not to mention all the times we have walked over to grab a cold drink or snack as we are their next door neighbor. In fact, at one time this Shell location had a Lease with us as their car wash drive through encroached onto our property. Today I bought gold level car wash with added polish. 2 cars in front of me a woman got caught in the car wash and guy had to come to fix. When it's my car's turn, everything is working fine when soap added and then rinsed. I pull forward for air to dry my car and the gadget that should raise and allow me to drive out the car wash would NOT raise. And a car is right behind me getting washed ready to progress to drying stage. I PANICKED because I could not get out of car wash. It was unsafe to just get out of my car. I hung on my horn for 1.5-2 minutes with hope someone would hear me. I'm gonna guess someone heard horn and alerted cashier. Eventually the gadget went up. I was a nervous wreck. ON TOP OF THAT, because my car was unable to dry in carwash, my car was coated with dirty water spots everywhere. It looked a mess and I had to hand wash to get the crap off of it. Please do yourself a favor and do not use their drive thru car wash system. I bought my car back in December24th 2017. Noticed my clear coat on my car was super scratched up. I brought my car back, filled out an incident form. I was told that I would receive a call from the manager 2 days later. Over a week has passed, and haven't received a call back. I went back in to speak with their employee's number to receive their assistant manager, Gloria's number. When I gave her a call, I was told she was driving and gave me the managers number. I understand that you were driving and couldn't "speak with me at the moment" however, could have called me back(like I was promised over a week ago). Spoke with the manager a few days later and they are claiming to deny that their car wash did not cause any damage to my vehicle and that I have "scratched it somewhere else." Keep in mind, they claimed that they will do an "investigation." Also, no employee even bother to look at my damaged car. I purchased my car brand new about a year ago. I live close by so I'm frequently getting gas here, but today I had the most unpleasant customer experience. I walk to the cashier to pay with cash and I'm looking for a snack and I'm greeted by this man behind the counter with a "hello beautiful", but I didn't mind the comment.. then as I searched for a bag of chips or something while this guy stared me down he said "you want chocolate". Now what the hell man?! I was taken back I should have just walked out right then and gone to a station across the street but I simply said "no" and handed him my change to credit me for gas and walked out. I felt very uncomfortable being told what I "want" in a small space by an older man and I'm ashamed at Shell for hiring such a creep. I don't know how shell keeps this type of service and maintains a customer base. These clerks they hire and keep on are illogical and pure rudeness. Had a car wash (6th is free) and was provided a code to use. Too many people were in line so My wife decided to go clean the interior and come back at a more calm time only to find out the code expired. The clerk accused my wife of trying to work the system and get two cleanings in a day. She had the code with her. They could have easily checked it but he said to come tomorrow when the manager comes in. She calls the manager and also he said the same thing. Come on. You have the code. The car is dirty. We are a loyal customer and have come here and have plenty of receipts to prove it (you have to show 5 valid receipts to get the 6th free). I just can't believe this service.
