But that was small in comparison to their amazing skills and quick competency to get the job done while also keeping a small neighborhoods concerns of noise and inconvenience as their first concern. Gouging Elderly Following Storm? My elderly parents panicked when a tree fell against their house in a recent storm and were willing to pay any price to have it removed. Crown tree service obliged, and charged more than 4500 to remove a single medium sized pine tree.  The contractor we are now using to repair the facia and roof tiles said it was waaaaaaay out of the normal range, even for emergency service (which took four days  BTW). When I contacted the Homeowner's Insurance company they agreed, and will not cover the cost either. To add insult to injury Crown's crew spilled gasoline on the roof (and neglected to mention it), and a now major section of roofing needs to be replaced ($$). Normally you'd expect people to come together when the unexpected happens, and be especially protective of the most vulnerable. Very disappointed.  My parents don't want to make a fuss, and I'm helping them cover the tree cost, but felt like this is something that people need to know about. Always get a second quote. read more

Last minute HEROES!!! I called crown tree service one weekend evening in a panicked emergency and got a hold of them. I was in the middle of selling my home three days before closing when everything was halted due to a worrisome dead tree that had started falling towards the house. Even though the tree crews were already booked for weeks, they still sent two guys over first thing Monday morning. I was terrified the tree would fall on the house and ruin the sell, but I was soon put at ease once I saw their professionalism and amount of gear and rigging they brought. We had a blocked downspout. I was told they normally don't unclog downspouts even though their ad says "gutter cleaning". But Graham was in the area and said he could swing by. He said he didn't know what to charge because they don't provide that service, but if I had the ladder and if $60 would be okay he'd come by. I said I guess so because I didn't know what would be involved and didn't know what else to do. He climbed up the ladder and threw down a clump of mud. This whole transaction took 5 minutes. And yes he charged me $60. I guess all businesses are trying to become millionaires overnight with those prices. We are retired and on a limited budget. It was painful to pay that, but I can't have my husband climbing up a 14' on a ladder, so we're at the mercy of whatever anyone wants to charge us. I gave them at least two stars because Graham was a very pleasant person, but I won't use them again at those prices. read more

They arrived when they said they would, did what they agreed to do in an efficient manner, and cleaned up well. The job involved accessing our neighbor's property, and the neighbors were pleased with how Crown treated their property. They aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for. Hard working local company that stands behind their work. I chose them because I am a widow on soc security and the bid was affordable for me to have them take down a giant pine. Because of some problems finding a mill for the logs and other problems it took a long time to complete the final clean up of my land. I think they bid the job too low but even so they finally showed up with their crew and did their best to make it right. Some of the other companies that were double the price said they would not even do any raking or other clean up. These guys raked up all the sawdust and even did some extra chipping at no charge. I am very impressed with Rob and his crew. We needed some overhanging trees trimmed and a couple of hazards taken down in addition to some defensible-space maintenance. Rob was prompt coming out to do the estimate and was able to schedule the job about a week later. He and crew showed up early and completed the job in about 3 hours. That included cleaning the roof and gutters, raking and blowing all the debris away around the house.
