Delicious food, exceptional service, and stunning buffet displays -- Crown Point has it all! We had our wedding in August and Crown Point was a fantastic caterer. Starting with the food tasting, that was such a fun experience! We had a group of 6 (we brought both sets of parents) and they made us feel so welcome, walked us through every dish we selected from the menu, and were so helpful with their recommendations to help ensure our wedding buffet was well-rounded. Fast forward to our venue walkthrough with Gabby and Kim -- they were so professional and great to work with! They knew exactly what to talk through with my wedding coordinator so that every base was covered. The day of our wedding, the two buffet stations were beautifully set up! They had even asked ahead of time what our wedding colors were so that their decor would match. Once dinner service started, they were quick to give me and my husband a full plate so that we didn't have to go into the buffet line -- everything was perfectly cooked and we kept hearing from our guests how much they enjoyed the food. The staff frequently checked in on us to make sure we were good to go throughout the night. Even the leftovers hit the next day!! Definitely recommend Crown Point to any couple! read more

My rating is based off of the catering event at the WTA500 San Diego Tennis Open. The staff was very professional and courteous. The presentation of the food and beverages were slick and blended very well with the tennis venue. The food was fresh and prepared perfectly. Drinks blended and balanced with the mixers and alcohol. Definitely am going to consider them for a private party. read more

We just had our wedding a couple months ago but have been planning our wedding for over 2 years. We decided on Crown Point pretty early on because of how AMAZING the tasting went. The price point was also great and totally worth every penny. Orsika and her team were so easy to work with and flexible with whatever we wanted (mini California burritos and tiny ice creams cones!). At the end of the night she even packed us a cute little box for all the food that we didn't get to try. 100% recommend Crown Point for any event! read more

Oh yumminess.... I'm still salivating over the ahi poke wontons, the pear and gorgonzola quesadillas, and the chicken corn cakes - and that was just the appetizers! Crown Point Catering was our food & drink provider for our July 2010 wedding in San Diego. Omar and his staff were exceptional to work with, responsive, creative, and genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs. Not to mention, our guests seriously loved the food we served (at stations, so people could pick and choose their plates). And as we (the extended family plus the bride and groom) ended up eating leftover food for 3 straight days, and STILL liked it, I can seriously say that the food part of our event was a success. Omar developed a specialty drink for us - "Cloud Nine" - made with vodka, hypotiq liquor, blue curacuo, and white cranberry juice, topped with white cotton candy - which was just adorable and started off the whole evening right. His staff made sure that we were brought plates of food so we had a moment to scarf down some food (apparently this isn't commonplace - I think it should be!), and were attentive to our disabled guest, getting her (and us) drinks, food, etc. We were able to purchase all of our alcohol (Costco & BevMo's 5-cent wine sale) and contract with Crown Point to provide the mixers, soft drinks, ice, glasses, and bartending - while we only saved a little bit, we were able to keep the left overs AND we were able to pick the brands we liked. Mr. Tucker particularly appreciated this. It's pricey - but good food and good service is worth it. read more

We just had our wedding this past weekend, and I have to say that Crown Point Catering and Orsika totally blew us away. We chose to use them after they did my sister's wedding a couple years ago and we had positive memories of the experience. We live in CO but our whole family and wedding is in San Diego. Our experience using them and setting it up from a different state was really easy. One of the best points was we had a very strict budget, and after talking to Orsika on the phone and figuring out all the logistics she really worked with us to get that budget to work. We've been hearing rave reviews of the foods from guest, and Orsika even packed us a couples box so that when we got home we were able to eat what everyone else had! Without that box I literally wouldn't have tried half the food that they put out. My recommendations - top of everything, the bubbling brie was the most mentioned from the wedding. The tacos and the raviolis were also stellar. If we had to do it all over again, I would not hesitate to choose Crown Point for a second time. read more

I wish I could give Crown Point Catering, and especially Omar, so many more stars than just 5. Our wedding was amazing, and I will always remember Omar as having a big part in that. The food was delicious, and all of our guests had nothing but positive things to say about it. The service was great. They had meals ready for my husband and me as soon as we were done with our first dance, to make sure we ate before starting to talk to everyone (which was a huge help). We didn't have a wedding planner, and Omar essentially filled this gap, even though this was in no way his job. He was the person I called when it was cold and windy on the morning of our wedding, and he immediately thought of a solution and took care of contacting vendors to get a last-minute windshield put up and extra heat lamps ordered. He helped us pick linen colors, decorated the food stations so nicely and tastefully, and even added a nice creative touch with some manzanita trees he brought in and decorated with some flowers and lights. Planning a wedding on your own can be stressful, as many vendors take a long time to respond. Omar was not one of these vendors. He was always very responsive and so incredibly helpful. On wedding day, he was a calming, kind, and friendly presence. He seemed genuinely happy to be there and to be helping to make our big day beautiful and personal. I cannot recommend Omar highly enough. read more

We chose Crown Point Catering for our wedding from their instagram posts and the look and taste did not disappoint! Kerensa was awesome to work with, she was so patient, responsive, and accommodating to all of my last minute small changes and my regular ~10 daily emails. She also beautifully decorated the food station tables to our theme with Eucalyptus in glass vases (A touch that I was not expecting!). The food was incredible too! Our guests would not stop raving about the food and how perfect it was to our San Diego theme. They also loved the bento boxes! Thanks so much Kerensa! I absolutely loved what you were able to do to make our wedding day special! read more

Crown Point just catered our outdoor, backyard wedding this past August, and I have nothing but the best things to say about them. We had to bring in every single item ourselves being that we set up the yard as an event space, which is a very daunting task. They were just on it from the very beginning, and kept out stress level as low as possible. We loved Omar from the minute we first spoke to him, and only loved him and the company MORE after our tasting, wow! We had stations (a "southern" bbq station, a soft taco bar, and a beef tenderloin carving station) and food was really one of our main concerns for the whole wedding. We wanted spectacular and that's what we got! Our guests have seriously still been calling and emailing to tell us how much they loved the food and how many times they went back for more! The on site staff of servers, chefs, bartenders, etc...was SO friendly, helpful and efficient; Omar as stated before was a pleasure to deal with throughout the entire process, and Gabby, the event manager, was fantastic the day of. I cannot say enough good things about this team, and I can't wait to host another event and hire them again! read more

My parents used Crown Point Catering for their wedding 36 years ago, and I decided it would be special to go with the same company for my wedding at the La Jolla Woman's Club on July 2nd. Orsika and her team exceeded our expectations in the planning and presentation. The food was delicious, and the care package for the bride and groom (that we consumed at the end of the night back at the hotel) was such a nice touch. We chose the stations (rather than plated or buffet) with beef, chicken, and fish and the sides, and the variety was great for our group, which included many children. We shopped around and decided on Crown Point Catering because they were organized, friendly, affordable, and healthy. Some of the other caterers we tried served us food that was too heavy (like rich pasta sauces), and some of them charged thousands more for significantly less food. We wanted our guests to be full but not stuffed, and we wanted plenty of salad and vegetables. Our group seemed to enjoy the fish the most. We could not be happier with our selection! I will recommend Crown Point Catering to all my friends getting married. read more

Crown Point catered our wedding in July. They provided excellent service, set-up BEAUTIFUL stations, and ALL the food was delicious. Everyone really enjoyed the food and they kept the lines moving! We especially appreciated the to-go box of food since we didn't really have time to enjoy the stations ourselves. SO thoughtful. We also really appreciated them working with us to personalize the catering and décor. We also were having freak-thunderstorms the morning of our event, and they handled the chaos expertly (including grilling under a tent outside in the rain and pulling food stations inside that ought to have been outside). Everything was beautiful and flowed as though we had meant for it to be that way. read more

The team at Crown Point Catering is fantastic!!! The food tasting went well and they made sure to make the appropriate modifications based on our input. Everything turned out so well. Ryann made the entire process flow smoothly and she was always on top of email communications, which is really nice especially when you're stressed out from the other wedding details. We had a number of changes here and there and she was super flexible and easy to work with by providing different iterations of our menu until we found the perfect one that fit our budget. Come the wedding day, the setup was beautiful (from what I remember) and the food smelled delicious. My husband and I didn't get to really eat (of course), but the staff was nice enough to box up some food for us to eat after the wedding was over. We definitely enjoyed it then because we were starving!! They thought of us the entire time and it was really nice knowing that we didn't have to worry about any of that. The guests really enjoyed our food as well and that it was really unique. We had passed appetizers and food stations around some of our favorite things to eat (i.e. California Burritos, Dim Sum, Pasta, Soups, Ahi Tuna, Grilled Cheese and Tomato Bisque, etc.) it was awesome! I would definitely use Crown Point Catering again for my next event. read more

We are so thrilled that we chose Crown Point Catering, and specifically Orsika Barabas for our wedding. I am a total foodie, and this food exceeded all my expectations! Further still, Orsika was phenomenal to work with. She helped us dial in every detail, and lended value in areas that she wasn't even compensated for. I can't imagine a better person by my side than Orsika. Her customer service is stellar. Totally above and beyond effort, that made our day spectacular. read more

We used Crown Point Catering and Orsika for our daughter's wedding in Coronado, California. We were extremely satisfied with the results. As our daughter's wedding was a destination wedding, it was extremely nerve racking during the 9 month planning period, to not have a direct interface with Orsika and her team to ensure all our desires would be met. We were very happy to say, their patience with our many requests were filled exactly to our expectations. Food: When we first went to test samples of the dishes, we were extremely skeptical about the excellent quality of what we were served. That is, we could not imagine they could duplicate this quality for an event of 100 plates, especially with our years of experience with banquet food. We must say, without equivocation, we loved it, the food was exactly as recalled on our first visit. This was not a single opinion, throughout the entire evening and in the days since, the guests expressed to us their own surprise to just how good the food was. Service: Orsika and her teams attention to serving the guests were exactly what we were looking for. The ever-present staff was constantly ensuring guests had the opportunity to enjoy the overabundance of appetizers. When the wedding party arrived, her staff was there to ensure they had a chance to fill up and enjoy as well. On a personal level, she was constantly within reach, checking mine and my wife's needs for food and drink throughout the entire evening. It felt to us, Orsika and her staff had a personal desire to ensure our enjoyment in the evenings events was as expected. This is a clear representation of the company as a whole. Via this review, we would like to thank Crown Point Catering, as well as Orsika for a wonderful experience and we, without a doubt, strongly recommend both in your future event. read more

Crown Point catered our wedding at The Ultimate Skybox in downtown San Diego. They provided us with exceptional service from start to finish. We had already picked out our catering vendor, but decided to conduct a thorough search and have one last tasting with Crown Point Catering for our cocktail party in March 2012. We were blown away with the flavor and creative menu. There were so many great choices to choose from but we were able to narrow it down to 3 appetizers: shrimp skewers, caprese skewers, and the pear and brie quesadilas; three food stations: sliders, raviolis and the dim sum station; and delectable desserts. We worked with Lori, who was always responsive & helped us whenever we needed suggestions for decor and/or any changes to make our day flawless. Lori and her entire staff were very attentive and made sure me and my husband were taken care of the day of our party. I felt really comfortable with Lori in charge of our event, she even handled a couple wedding crashers without incident. We're thankful for our experience with Crown Point Catering and would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Their food maybe great, however I had an exceptionally unpleasant server. As far as I am concerned, I can get good food anywhere. Service is what sets a company apart from the competition, and this place falls short. This event was a wedding, and it is a shame to see such a low level of professionalism and service. read more

Two weddings in 2 1/2 years (2015 and 2018) with lots of decisions to make and caterers to choose from. The decision was easier for the 2nd wedding (May 2018) because we chose Crown Point catering after a wonderful experience in 2015. What can I say but exceptional customer service, "delicious" and beautifully displayed food and Orsika is a master with details. Staff was very pleasant and professional and made sure the guests were food satisfied. As the mother-of-the bride, I brought cookies and desserts and they displayed and served them beautifully each time. Both daughters commented on how easy it was to work with Orsika regarding budget, menu, and deciding how food would be served: sit-down, buffet, food stations, etc. Orsika listened and guided them the process . Both weddings were wonderful and guests still rave about the food. Highly recommend them. read more

Crown Point Catering was FANTASTIC for our wedding last weekend. Kimberly was a pleasure to work with, extremely organized, and responsive. Since we didn't have a "turn key" venue, there was a lot of coordination with the party rentals -- tables, chairs, linens, reception hall etc. and I didn't have to worry about a thing! Kimberly was also very open to my ideas and made suggestions and recommendations when I needed help. Not only was everything super organized, but our guests raved about the appetizers, yummy dinner and even the oustanding service. I would highly recommend Kimberly and Crown Point Catering for your event. read more

This review is long overdue as our wedding was in July of last year but here goes! After extensive research, we decided to go with Crown Point Catering for our wedding in July 2011. The food is awesome as are their event design services. I worked closely with Omar and let me say, he is beyond amazing! He is very professional and has honed his craft after years in the business. He helped us put together an exquisite menu based on the all the foods we love. We ended up doing upscale comfort food stations: sliders, mac & cheese, brie and pear quesadillas, etc. Everyone has raved about the food - the display was beautiful and it tasted even better. Several people have told us that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding - so creative and delicious! We decided not to have a cake but to do an ice cream sundae bar and assorted desserts and candy instead - it looked spectacular! Omar was a pleasure to work with. He is very responsive to emails and made changes without a fuss to our menu and décor. He has very sophisticated taste and helped us with our linens, chairs and table settings. His entire staff was amazing. We could not have been happier with our experience with them and would highly recommend them to anyone for their next event!! read more

I completely echo the sentiments of the last review by Stephanie. Omar went above and beyond to ensure that our day was perfect. He is fun and easy to work with from the initial meeting to the final touches. He worked with us on price and food/drink options to ensure we were happy and comfortable with everything. He has a good eye for style and design and I felt very comfortable with him. We had tray passed appetizers and three food stations (ravioli trio bar, short ribs and seafood skewers) and it was delicious! So many people told me it was the best wedding food they've ever had. The staff was excellent and the presentation was beautiful. Omar made sure we had food to eat at the reception and to-go boxes at the end of the night, and he worked well with the other vendors to make sure everything was perfect. I can't say enough to show my appreciation for Omar. You can't go wrong with him and Crown Point Catering. read more

I wish I could give Crown Point 5 stars, the food was delicious and ALL of our wedding guest were raving about it. I had been corresponding with Ryann through the whole wedding process and she was amazing to work with. Calming my nerves when I got overwhelmed and even telling me to NOT hire a day of coordinator as she would be there for me and my husband on our big day. The day before the wedding at our rehearsal dinner, she introduced us to Leo. She had Leo take the lead and direct the flow of the procession. It was a disaster. Everything was disorganized. Finally, I took Ryann aside and asked her if she was even going to be there for our wedding. She point blankly said no. NO!?!?! The day before the most important day of our lives...you assured us multiple times of your expertise and guidance and then you aren't even going to be there???? I was livid but refused to let it spoil things. Turns out, Leo was a god send! He was on the ball with everything and the whole day went off without a hiccup. I wish I could give Crown Point Catering 5 stars but Ryann's blatant disregard and unprofessionalism put a small damper on an otherwise perfect day. read more

Omar and his entire staff were beyond amazing for our March 2011 wedding. From start to finish (in the planning process through our wedding day) we experienced nothing but extreme professionalism, kindness, flexibility and a genuine desire to go above and beyond for us from Omar. Not only was his service in the planning process unbelievable, but the food was extremely delicious! Food was a priority for my husband and I, and we didn't want the traditional chicken or fish entrée; Crown Point was the perfect vendor for us. Our guests were treated with amazing appetizers, and fun food stations that featured gourmet mac n' cheaese, sliders and skewers. We are still hearing from all of our guests who have been raving that it was "the best wedding food ever!" Omar did more than we could have ever imagined to make it easier for us to enjoy our day. He arrived early and helped manage the set-up, he worked with other vendors to coordinate logistics and rentals, and he kept me calm and rational in what could have been a stressful planning process. At our reception, as soon as we had our grand entrance and sat down, Omar met us with all of our food and drink so we could actually eat our wedding food and have time to talk with every single one of our guests! Additionally, as we were sent off, Omar prepared boxes of leftover goodies to take with us to our hotel. I would recommend Omar and Crown Point Catering to everyone. They are reasonably priced, but the service and quality product you receive is worth so much more! read more

It has been over 6 months since my wedding and I am still beaming over Crown Point Catering services & how much they just made my wedding come together. Jonathon ran a flawless staff & managed the event seamlessly. I was a DYI bride & I relied on Gabbi & her team to decorate the space with items I provided - one meeting together and she totally GOT my style. The decor items they provided for the food tables and the added accessories worked so well with my vision and the overall aesthetic of the event. I am still getting complements from guests on the setting & decor & I have to thank Gabbi for that. I am also still getting complements on the food. It was high quality and very very delicious. (we went the taco route due to budget concerns). I would highly recommend Crown Point Catering for your event. read more

Worked with Kimberly at Crown Point Catering for our wedding of 140 people. They also provided the bar personnel. We ended up using food stations due to space limitations. We used Crown Point Catering for our recent September 2011 wedding. I can't say enough about how fantastic the service and food was. Our point of contact was Kimberly and she was amazing. We felt so comfortable with Kimberly from the start and trusted her with all sorts of little details. We could not have been more pleased with how the wedding turned out. Everyone was raving about the food (we had salmon, steak, vegetables, and scalloped potatoes). The salmon and steak were perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. When you are feeding almost 100 people, the food quality tends to be produced for the masses; however, the food we had was as if you had ordered it at a restaurant. It was so tasty! Kimberly made sure every detail was perfect. Throughout the process she was responsive, returned phone calls/emails promptly, and was helpful and courteous the entire way. She never pressured us into a decision we didn't want to make. She helped guide us through the entire process. One of the best parts about Crown Point Catering is they can handle anything and everything. We needed to rent chairs, tables, dishes, etc..... and it was so easy because they handled everything. It was a one stop shop for us. All the ceremony chairs, etc were all handled by Crown Point Catering. To also express how helpful and amazing Crown Point Catering was, we actually ran out of wine before dinner was over. Kimberly calmly came to me and asked me if they should go buy more wine. She was so professional and calm, I never freaked out. They took it upon themselves to go buy us more wine. It was seamless and easy. Talk about customer service! UNBELIEVABLE! If you are doing a wedding, we would HIGHLY recommend Crown Point Catering and particularly Kimberly. We truly had the wedding of our dreams and it was in part because of Kimberly's/Crown Point Catering's efforts and help. read more

We've used Crown Point Catering in the past for special occasions and knew that we would have another great experience when we hired them to cater our special family reunion last week. Karensa was wonderful to work with in planning a dinner menu that would appeal to the 19 family members who enjoy a wide range of foods, but also have discerning preferences! She was patient with changes and questions and always had a solution! The staff executed the evening perfectly, allowing us extra time for wine and appetizers before moving onto the poolside dinner. CPC was amazing to work with! I am pretty much worthless when it comes to planning but they worked so well with my planner, my florist and all my other vendors that it was a perfect fit. At the wedding the food was amazing. I had someone run up to me right after the grand entrance to say "By far the best wedding ever, you have mini California burritos for tray pass!" and I found out later that the poor servers were being attacked by all my guests trying to get at the food. I worked with Orsika through my wedding coordinator and we had a great experience. A month after our wedding, all my friends and family are STILL raving about the food! They were willing to work with me on a non-traditional menu where I had lots of specific requests. I was worried I was going too outside the wedding box, but in the end we were both happy with the menu and excited about it. One of my main concerns was that we wouldn't have enough food, because we chose heavy tray-passed and a few live stations over a traditional banquet dinner. Everyone commented how the tray passed apps just kept coming and coming! It makes me so happy to hear that everyone loved the food at our wedding. One server in particular (gosh I wish I remembered her name!) was very attentive to us and made sure I always had a drink or a bite of the next food item coming out. She was awesome. Also I have to mention that the bartender was a hit with the ladies, haha! The cherry on top was our "to-go" box at the end of the night, which was adorably packaged and sent back to the hotel with us so that we could enjoy some bites of things we missed during the party. It even included a bottle of champagne! We feel like Crown Point really knocked it out of the park for us! read more

Crown Point Catered the food for our Sept 2010 wedding aboard the USS Midway and we were extremely happy with thier job well done! I still get compliments about the "filet Mignion" which was just the best prepared Beef Tenderloin I have ever had. I, the bride, actually sat to finish the whole thing during the wedding it was soo good. Don't let Omar's calm fool you, he is super organized and gets things done to make your day perfect. I actually wish I had trusted him with some other aspects of the wedding as well. The food tasting went well before the wedding but they really do food in mass quantity so it was ten times better at the actual wedding. He had great ideas about a Brownie sundae bar which impressed everyone and was delicious. We topped off the night with some fun Quesadilla stations which gave more than enough food for even the biggest eaters in the 200 person group. The waitstaff was professional and attentive even making little hearts out of our dinner bread and filling our drinks even though we had contracted someone else for the bar. The food tables were done beautifully and I couldn't have asked for anything better in a caterer. read more

Crown Point is amazing!! Kimberly was our coordinator for our wedding last week. What an easy company to work with. We had a wonderful tasting over the summer after my husband coordinated with Kimberly about our tastes. Everything was amazing and we only had a couple of changes to make. On the day of the wedding Kimberly and her team couldn't have been better. They were professional and attentive -- and the food was SPECTACULAR!! We had guests saying within 10 minutes of the cocktail hour that it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding. The servers made sure that my husband and I had food (we did a 'stations' set up with the dinner) and the wine was topped up continuously. But Kimberly went beyond just that -- she was really like a guest at our wedding -- and my husband and I felt so comfortable knowing she was running things. At the end of the night they took all our centerpieces with them, which we picked up from their store a couple of days later. They were packaged up with care, along with the remaining alcohol from the event. (We purchased the alcohol ourselves.) At every stage of this process we felt so well taken care of. I can't recommend them highly enough. The servers even packaged up the remainders from the cheese/fruit/veggie table at the cocktail hour for my husband and I to take with us at the end of the night. We were so thankful to have something to snack on later that night!! A thousand thank yous Kimberly!! read more
